Mollie Hendricks was never meant to be, her life was the unexpected byproduct of a wild love affair. Her mother, Paige Hendricks, was a young local woman who fell for a businessman visiting Clearwater for a meeting. The aftermath of their short relationship left Paige with child. Upon the news of her pregnancy, Paige became privy to the fact her lover had a family of his own back home. Because of this, he refused any association with the baby or mother-to-be, and instead, insisted on an abortion. With no further discussion, the male left Paige the money for the procedure and with that, he was gone in the wind. Saving the money, the young girl opted against her lover’s wishes and instead nine months later, Mollie was born.  Life wasn’t easy for the mother-daughter duo. Paige struggled to provide for her growing child, but what she lacked to deliver in tangible items, she made up for in the love she showed her little girl. Because of this, Mollie never felt any sort of deprivation, she loved the life she was provided and she adored her mother for her continuous strength and perseverance. 

Mollie went on to live a fulfilled childhood, what wasn’t there to love about being raised in the perfect beach town? But eventually, when she hit high school, she was struck with the curiosity surrounding her father. Mollie struggled with the idea of wanting to seek him out and learn more about him, but she couldn’t bear to tell her mother. Turning to her guidance counselor she received the advice and assistance she needed to motivate her on her search. It only took a year for her to find him, and when she did, she also learned that she had an older brother. Despite her new knowledge, she opted against reaching out. After all, she was satisfied with her life in Clearwater and didn’t need anything or anyone to disrupt that. The search did however help her find her path, as a result she decided to pursue a career in counseling so she could assist kids like her who needed a helping hand. This decision ultimately guided her path for further education.

Life wasn’t always peachy-keen for Mollie. Just after her college graduation, her beloved mother fell gravely ill. As a result, Mollie was forced to step to the plate. Setting her own hopes and aspirations aside, Mollie swept in to look over her mother’s bakery so Paige could instead focus on her health. What was only meant to be a short term situation lasted years and eventually the bakery’s revenue wasn’t enough to pay for Paige’s growing medical bills. The struggle left Mollie scheming of ways to increase their cash flow and eventually she turned to a life of cons. Already having a deep rooted anger toward the unfaithful businessmen who made their way into town, Mollie opted to take advantage of their risky behaviors. Using herself as bait, she began to lure the visitors in. She would agree to dates with only one agenda, to sneak off with something of some value. 

For a while, her plan was executed flawlessly. The extra cash flow was enough to keep her and her mom out of debt and give Mollie some extra spending money on the side. But things turned awry when she found herself in a major slip-up, breaking a few rules of her own. Having a bit too much to drink while with one of her targets, she managed to find herself in his bed the next day. Confused, hung-over, and with a shiny wedding ring on her finger. To her dismay - he also wasn’t her typical target, her new husband lived in town and was well known amongst the locals, further complicating an already complicated situation.

hobbies & interests

Mollie has always had an interest in photography, at one point in life she contemplated pursuing it as a career. Ultimately, she opted against it - but now in her free time she can commonly be found with her camera around her neck.

Mollie's dream of becoming a guidance counselor might have been put on hold, but she has continued on with her wish to help the younger generations. As a result, she volunteers some of her time on the weekends teaching swim lessons to children both local to and vacationing in Clearwater.

Mollie has been and always will be a complete beach bum. If her schedule is clear, there is a 99.5% chance she is down by the water or relaxing in the sand.

Mollie never envisioned herself stepping in to run her mother's business, but life had a different plan for her. When on the clock, she can often be found experimenting in the kitchen baking or trialing new tasty treats.
