Well, well, well… if it isn’t my indecisiveness striking again!

I really want to learn Russian, but I’m trying to learn Japanese too. 😭 I might buy a book or two and see how I feel with it… I’ve always heard in order to study 2 languages at the same time, you should be more advanced in one before beginning the other. Though, I think because Russian and Japanese are 2 different language families maybe I can get away with doing them at the same time?

the hardest part about long term goal setting is that what i care about is so prone to change

the important stuff is easy but the things that are just fun or interesting come and go, but then if I'm too unstructured in my scheduling i won't do anything at all

so is it better to just make more work for myself overhauling the schedule every time my interests change or is it worth trying to find something that i truly believe i will stick to?

上旬・初旬 じょうじゅん・しょじゅん the first 10 days of the month

中旬 ちゅうじゅん the middle 10 days of the month

下旬 げじゅん the last 10 days of the month

第＃〇曜日 だい＃〇ようび the #nd/th 〇day of the month (e.g. 第2月曜日 = だいにげつようび = the second Monday of the month)

年末年始 ねんまつねんし the year-end and the beginning of the New Year (usually holidays in which businesses and the government are closed)

正午 しょうご noon

祝日 しゅくじつ national holiday

休館日 きゅうかんび day on which a museum, library, etc. is closed; closed day

Introduction + Goal setting

Hello everyone! Nice to meet you, my name is Momoe and this is my Japanese studyblr!

My goals:

Short term (from 07/09-07/16): complete lesson 1-3 of Tobira Beginning 1

Medium term (before December 2024): start tobira beginning 2 textbook

Long term (next year): take the JLPT N3 exam in December 2025

My current study plan: Tobira Beginning 1 + Workbooks -> Tobira Beginning 2 + Workbooks -> Nihongo Alive, Kodansha Kanji Learner's Course + readers* -> Tobira + Power Up Your Kanji + Grammar Power -> Shin Kanzen master N3

Bolded is the absolute must complete before December 2025.... only 3100 pages of material ha ha.
