Dauntless by Niall Grant Via Flickr: Another rare find in the Warbird area at Air Venture 2025, was the Commemorative Air Force's Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless. I chose this angle so as to capture the distinctive split flaps/dive brakes which made the Dauntless a formidable dive bomber during WW2.

In 1957 the TR3 was updated with various changes including a full width radiator grille and this facelifted model was commonly referred to as the Triumph "TR3A". However the cars were not badged as such and the "TR3A" name was not used officially. Updates include the new wide front grill, exterior door handles, lockable boot handle and came with a full tool kit as standard (this was an option on the TR3). In 1959 a slightly modified version came out with modified stampings and a redesigned rear floor section. In addition, the windscreen was attached with bolts rather than the Dzus connectors used on the early A; models. The Triumph TR3 is the first production car to include standard disc brakes, which were continued on the "TR3A" facelift. In 1959 other changes were made to the car, including raised stampings under the bonnet and boot hinges and under the door handles, as well as a redesigned rear floor section. In addition, the windscreen was attached with bolts rather than the Dzus fasteners used on the early A models. This year new options included a 2138 cc engine, and 60-spoke wire wheels. The TR3B is the unofficial name given to the final version of the Triumph TR3, which was produced in 1962. It was sold concurrently with the TR4, which started production in 1961. It was introduced as a special limited production run model, as an insurance against rejection by the buying public to the radically new Michelotti styled TR4. Its appearance is identical to the TR3A. 3333 cars were produced, with 29 of them as Triumph Italias Chassis No: TS66937L This car was originally a LHD export model, exported new to the USA it returned to Blighty in 2017 and entrusted to TR Bitz of Cheshire to be recommissioned. John Sykes and his team converted the car to RHD noting that the body and chassis were in excellent condition, with a strong engine and god oil pressure. It has since had a bare metal respray. S.211 by Niall Grant Via Flickr: Despite no longer displaying national markings, the scheme and serial number easily identify this S.211 as a former Royal Singapore Air Force example. The limited production run of the S.211 was largely split between air forces of Singapore and the Philippines.
