Harpies as Romantic Partners(SFW)

I absolutely love harpies and they’re probably my second favorite monster out there..

So enjoy my thoughts! I apologize that it’s short!

First of all, Harpies have some of the strongest instincts out there among monsters. This could mean a myriad of things. Let’s start with something simple. Harpies mate for life, choosing one person to love for the rest of their lives. They’re dedicated lovers and mates; who would do anything in the name of their beloved. They’ll show off and show you just how fast they can fly, how long their wings are, how good they are at hunting and bringing you food… whether you think it’s a little gross or not, it’s a cute gesture. They have nesting instincts, building you a home and bringing you little gifts to win your affection.

Your harpy partner’s love language has to be gift giving and acts of service. This is all part of the harpy mating ritual. To be more specific about gifts, anything shiny catches their eye. They’ll bring you all sorts of shiny rocks and lost jewelry for you to wear. Their neck feathers will puff up in pride when they see you enjoying the gift, fueling their pride. Making you happy is their top priority.

You’ll never go cold with a harpy around, because they’re insane cuddle bugs. During the nesting period, your partner will be sure your ‘nest’ is stocked up with warm blankets and pillows per your request. On top of that, they want nothing more than to be your harpy heater. Harpies are cuddle bugs, typically out of instinct. They’ll use their own bodies to be a shield for you as you sleep, in your most vulnerable moments. However, when your partner learned about how humans cuddled.. they fell in love with the concept. You’ll often find the, snuggling their beak against your hair or neck. Their arms will wrap around you as you both become a messy tangle of limbs.

Circling back to acts of service… grooming/upkeep is very important for your partner. Many times, they’ve took a hold of your hips and dragged you into their lap. Your back is against their chest and their arms encircle your waist, trailing their claws up and down in a gentle repetition. Then, they leaned their head down and begin to ‘preen’ your hair. Their beak will pick out any knots or tangles, any loose leaves or dirt. Even afterwards, they’ll release your waist to comb your hair with their talons. It’s very soothing, like a scalp massage. You surely won’t complain about your beloved wanting to pamper you, right?

If you’re not afraid of heights, your partner will have no problem taking you for a trip in the sky. They’ll scoop you up bridal style and take off into the endless sky, day or night. You’ll tuck your head into their neck, clinging to their feathers to make sure you won’t fall.. though it’s only for your peace of mind. Your partner would never drop you; they’re much more focused on the fact they’re holding you in your arms than the fact that you’re in the sky. You’ll zip through clouds or get full uninterrupted views of the starry night sky.. and it’ll be one of the most majestic sights you could ever fathom.

Harpies don’t have too much knowledge on how humans show affection. So, you will have to teach them a lot of the basic types of displays. When you taught them about kisses, you swore you saw their light up with amazement. They were fascinated by the idea of kissing and they’ll take every opportunity they can to absolutely cover every inch of your face with quick paced kisses. They never fail to make you topple over in a fit of laughter at their displays.

Some Backstory..

The first time you saw your partner, you were almost certain they would swallow you whole. They had dark eyes, sharp claws, and even sharper teeth. Their find were strong and they were muscular from swimming against the tides in the ocean. You, as a human, knew merfolk as dangerous and ruthless creatures who would rip sailors off their ships and drown them out of malice. Though, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration as you saw the monster. This monster was strangely beautiful to you.

The two of you were fascinated by one another.. and fascination became infatuation.

The Now

Yourself and your partner were tucked away safely in a secluded cave. You were propped up on a boulder that had been wedged into the ground against the tide. Your partner waded in front of you in the icy ocean waters. You couldn’t help but notice the way they eyed your legs, aimlessly tracing their fingers up and down the soft skin of your limb.

“You’re so soft,” they whispered.

Your hand reached out, fingers grazing one of the fins on the side of their head. Immediately it flared outward, appearing bigger as if to show off the color. This reaction confused and amused you. It almost reminded you of a peacock trying to show off for its mate. A smile graced your lips as you raised an eyebrow at the sea creature in front of you.

“And you’re.. responsive,” you couldn’t help but tease them.

Their fins retracted, now appearing smaller rather than bigger. Hey folded together and drooped downward. This expressed their embarrassment as you pointed out just how much they responded to your touch. They knew very well how much they loved you, how much their body loved you. It was impossible to hide their feelings when their own fins and heart would betray them.

“Fins are sensitive, dearest.” They responded.

“In what way?”

They were quiet after you asked that. You swore the spines on their back even drooped down from their usual strong position. They sank down into the water, which now covered them up to their chin. It was obvious that they were nervous to tell you what that sensation meant to someone of their kind… though that was enough of a hint to you. You knew their body language very well.

“Oh.. it felt really good, didn’t it?”

“It’s impossible to hide things from you.”

“Consider it a good thing… Come here.”

After a small moment of hesitation, they rose up from the water. Droplets slid down their paled grayish flesh as they revealed themselves to you. Your hands reached out, fingertips grazing the edges of their gills. The rising and falling of their breathing stopped, as if your touch startled them. But, they reached out themselves. Their hands found your hips, enveloping them in their palms. Their thumbs brushed against the dips of your hips, causing a warm puff of air to leave your lips.

Both of you knew where this was going. That was more than exhilarating.

You shifted closer to the water, submerging your legs up to your knees as your arms wrapped around your partner’s neck. Their grip on your hips became tighter, pulling you closer against themselves. Though, their hands wandered up your sides, over your ribs, and up your chest. They felt every dip and curve as if wanting to memorize every single detail of your body. They relished in your breathy gasps and sighs. You were eager, your scent grew heavy with arousal. The more their hands explored, the warmer your skin became.

This didn’t stop your exploration, however. If anything, this only fueled your desire to learn what made your partner tick. Your hands ran down the length of their sides, moving from the gills on their neck to the ones on their ribs. Your fingers traced the indentations, feeling the breaths pull in then breathe out. A chill ran up your spine as their back arched into your touch. Their tightening grip told you all you needed to know. It was a silent plea.

Don’t stop. It begged.

You wouldn’t stop. Neither of you would stop. Before you knew it, you were waist down in the water. Your legs had wrapped around the sea creature’s waist. Their scales pressed against you as they used the boulder to press your back against. Their head dipped down, lips meeting your neck. They inhaled deeply, taking in your scent. They could smell just how excited you were to be in this predicament. It excited them more than they thought they could ever be. Kisses reigned down on your neck, particularly your pulse point. I hey could feel your heart raising against your skin. It amazed them how quick your heart could beat.

Your head tilted back, your hands running along their back now. Up and down. The line up and down their spine was covered in sharp talons. Spines that were sharp and dangerous, a natural defense, your hands only grazed them gently. You could feel how sharp they were from only a moment’s touch. A hiss escaped their throat and their hand suddenly gripped your wrists.

“You’ll cut yourself.. Your kind is fragile, my heart.”

A whine bubbled up in your throat, but you refused to release it. Their hands continued to move, now sliding down your wrist and along the inside of your arm. Your partner seemed fascinated by the curve of your arms and how goosebumps rose on your soft skin. Their clawed finger tips trailed up and down, traveling along the skin that made you shiver. Then, they pulled your wrist to their lips, kisses descending down your arm. This caused your breath to hitch and your cheeks to flare. Such a simple touch sent your heart racing. You swore you could pass out at any moment.

Once their head made it to the shoulder, their chin tucked into the crevice between said shoulder and your neck. Their hand revealed the length of your arm until their massive hand swallowed yours in their palm. Their fingers squeezed the indents between each digit, appreciating the lack of webbing that they never understood about your anatomy. They were amazed by you; just like you were amazed by them.

“I always thought human’s fragile bodies were weak… yet I can’t help but find yours beautiful.” They spoke.

They moved forwards, pressing their weight down against you. You back pressed harder into the rock behind you, causing you to gasp slightly. You knew what they wanted. Their lips met your heart beat, traveling down your chest. They left a trail of kisses all the way down to your belly, where they kissed your navel as their fingers counted your ribs, tracing over each one in a tantalizing slow way. They worshipped your body were ease and care. Every kiss and caress solidified their love for you.

“Most of you feels familiar… but, here is where we differ,”

Their lips hovered over the spot between your thighs, causing heat to spread all throughout your body, yet it pooled in your belly. Your body was shaking, fingers digging into the boulder behind you. Their tongue slid out from their mouth, leaving a slow and experimental lick to those ‘oh so different’ parts of you. Ecstasy clouded your mind and all you could think of is how you wanted more of them. You wanted, no, needed them touch to you. You were theirs and they were yours.

“Please..”

“I know, my heart. This is something we must explore.. hang tight for me, won’t you?”

There was a brief moment of pause, tension rising as your patience wore thin.

“It’s only just begun..”

Naga Cuddling Imagines (SFW!)

Their Tails

As we know, nagas would have very long tails. While they may not be warm, they’re strong and snug. Not only that, but a naga would certainly be protective. They’d want to keep you safe and close to them no matter what. They’re very territorial… including over you! They’d wrap their tail around you to keep you safe while combing their clawed fingers through your hair and over your skin. They would very much enjoy the warmth your body gives off. This usually results in nuzzles against your neck, followed by a purr/hiss of contentment.

No matter what, they’re determined to keep you close, not that you mind. The texture of the scales is nice, an odd sensation against your fingertips. Despite being enveloped by another living being, the cool temperature keeps you comfortable. Your partner would know this very well too. While their tail was cold, their upper body is not as cold. The combination is enough to lull the both of you to sleep!

Their Claws

They’re natural hunters and protectors. It’s no wonder that they have razor sharp teeth and nails. You know they could rip you to shreds if your partner so pleased; However, there’s a comfort in knowing they would never lay a finger on you, let alone give anyone else the chance to. When it comes to cuddling, they’ll run their fingers along your flesh, relishing in the warmth and softness of it. The claws would leave goosebumps in their wake as they admired your resting form.

Your partner would worship you on their knees if they had any. So, they’ll let their fingers do the job. They have a fascination with the dips and curves of your body; whether it be the small of your back, the dip of your hips, or the curve of your neck. There isn’t a spot on your body that they don’t admire. Running their claws over these areas only further reminds them how much they adore and crave to protect you.

They love it even more when you reach to hold their hands while you’re cuddling. Their fingers interlock with yours and their thumb runs over the back of your hand. They’re much bigger than you and their hand practically engulfs yours. They’re a natural born predator, yet they decided you were it’s mate. You were what they were destined to protect. Destined to love and worship. Which leads into my next point.

Their Fangs

Did you really think their fangs would differ much from their claws? They’re very similar in the sense of danger, but they’re used in more intimate situations. Your partner loves to dip their head into the crook of your neck, ghosting their fangs over your soft skin. They can feel your blood rushing through your veins and how much heat radiates off your pulse. These trails leave your skin tingling and aching for affection. You would give your life to receive some kisses.

And of course, they would absolutely bless your skin with myriads of kisses and attention. They love you and want to show you that love with every action they make. They could spend hours kissing your body in all sorts of places if you had let them. Though, sometimes it can be more than just kissing. Sometimes, these kisses can turn into light nips. Though, if they break skin, they immediately apologize. They never wanted to hurt you. Though, if you enjoyed the feel, they wouldn’t mind indulging you.

Hell, even that forked tongue might slip past their lips. You’re no stranger to being flicked by that tongue. Though, it’s mostly used for teasing when it isn’t used for kissing. It almost feels like a cat’s tongue, being rough. You can’t help but laugh when your partner runs their tongue along your neck or collarbone. You insist it feels weird, but your partner can’t get enough of that smile on your face. They love your smile and love your laugh even more. So, if you’re ticklish, oh boy. Good luck, my friend.

Extras

Did you know that Naga’s hiss in their sleep? It’s almost like snoring. Pretty cute if you ask me.

If you run your hand along the length of their tail, sometimes the end of it curls. Their scales may be tough, but specific touches can be pretty sensitive.

Your partner is really heavy! Sometimes they like laying on top of you and act like a weighted blanket. Can be pretty soothing, especially if the pressure soothes any anxiety you may have.

They always compliment you on how soft and warm your skin is.

They really like to brush their fingers through your hair.

They have an odd fascination with your legs and wanting to understand them. Though, they can’t comprehend how slow moving you are compared to them.

What are my thoughts?

Married to the Mahr was the first monster fucker book I decided to buy and read off Tik Tok shop. I didn’t realize just how short this book was due to my lack of research. However, the cover was what really caught my attention! I was very interested in Traeyr’s design and even bought the swag pack with prints and an autograph. It came in a super cute envelope too! It came relatively quick and I really liked how the author also offered a discreet cover!

I did enjoy the book itself as well, even if it wasn’t perfect aligned with my taste. At times, the book can feel overly vulgar and that just isn’t something I find enjoyable all the time! If you like unapologetic smut and horny thoughts in a short and sweet (spicy)package, this very well could be the book for you! Despite me preferring more of a buildup, I do enjoy the growth of their couple’s relationship. The whole concept of a Mahr is something I found really interesting! The scenes with the pleasant dream world were my absolute favorite parts of the book! I just wish I saw a small bit more world building. (Again, if you’re into getting to the point, this book is perfect for you!)

The perspectives of the characters switch every chapter, which is also a tidbit I enjoy. We learn more and more about each character. The author put a personal twist onto this story too. At the end, it mentions how she struggled with “CPTSD”. During the story, we get to see our main character struggle with this same issue! That was a touch I personally enjoyed. I would have loved to delve deeper into that topic and what happened to our protagonist.

Why do I like it so much?

This is actually my favorite book series! It was the third monster lover book I had picked up. Compared to the others, it dialed back on the “spice” and it focused heavily on the characters, their differences, the stories before each other, and both sides of the coin are developed in a very intricate way! You can tell the author has put her heart and soul into her works. For a good portion of the book, Arges and Mira couldn’t even speak to each other. Yet, even with the communication barrier.. All of their interactions were interesting! I’ve never finished a book so fast in my life.

Not only this, but the book itself is made beautifully. The author is against AI artwork (as far as I’m aware) and all of the artwork within her books are commissioned from other artists! From the covers, to the inner cover, and every chapter page has a sketch of the pairing involved with beautiful decor. Her books are pretty to look at and the stories are so interesting that it doesn’t take away from the focus!

I also really enjoyed the technology of the setting Mira came from. She is from an underwater city called “Beta” and there are other underwater cities we will and have seen in other books so far! The way the author describes each setting is utterly captivating. Not to mention, our protagonist is accompanied by a little robot programmed with its own emotions! It’s magnificently written and charming!

I also really like the detail of the species of merman themselves. The merfolk call themselves “People of Water” while the humans call them Undines. The merfolk also call humans “Achromos”. This was another detail I very much enjoyed!

All I can say about this is that the 2nd book is just as good, if not even better than the first! If you enjoy Whispers of the Deep.. You will enjoy Song of the Abyss!

Not only this.. but the 3rd book will be available in November of 2024!

There may or may not be a 4th book planned as well if I’m remembering correctly!
