We received an assignment to design the sequel to a videogame, so naturally I chose my favorite game franchise, Monster Hunter. The town would be the Royal Guild City and would be settled on a dormant volcano. The flagship monster is a prehistoric elder dragon that heats up when in it’s “rage mode”. It’s presence threatens to reactivate the dormant volcano on which the city is built upon, and being a guild knight, it is up to the main character to stop it. The main character I drew is wearing guild armor for males, but since Monster Hunter has always been about customization, the character would always look different depending on the player and their equipment choices.

This was a fun assignment.

I know this isn’t monster hunter material but it is really cool to watch and puts perspective on how your hunter can still be really mobile with armor on (with the exception on carrying massive weapons ;) )

A video made for the Museum of Cluny, and its “The Sword: Uses, Myths and Symbols” exhibit. It tries to dispel some of the beliefs that are still prevalent today about the weight and mobility of fighters in plate armor and show some of the techniques used in combat against armored opponents
