🌟HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN DEACON! 🌟

I have a ton of things to say about John and the big impact he had in my life while I've been discovering more about Queen and feeling a sort of connection between my personality and his, but I'm pretty sure it won't be enough compared to how I really feel. Maybe my art can tell it instead of me? This is one of those drawings where I put all myself and I was very afraid to not finish it in time or to make mistakes, so I'm very proud of the good result! 💕 I wanted to draw John while playing the bass on stage, being one with his instrument and the music, living in his own world but still sharing the moment with his bandmates. I tried to draw him in all different years and hairstyles he had (even if they're a lot and ofc I couldn't do them all-) and I chose the rainbow as a theme to represent his changes. I mean, there's more behind the rainbow theme but idk how to put it in words, I'll let my drawing speak for itself. 👌🏻🌟 I really wish John a joyful birthday, I'm quite sure he'll spend it with his lovely family and it couldn't make me more happy, he deserves it 💕💕💕 Thank you for all you've done for us, mr.Deacon, we all love you!

Okay here’s the deal…. So I’m a big fat liar!!! I said chapter 10 would be the climax / double date scene, but I once again underestimated just how much I tend to draw out details, lol. Chapter 11 will for sure be the climactic chapter of Matters of the Heart. (Also, I’m not doing any half chapters anymore because this one is long enough and I’m a dumbass and Shelby convinced me to consider them separate chapters.) As far as this chapter goes, I figured there’s a lot of finalizing character development I needed to do, so there’s a flashback in the beginning to four months prior to the events of MOTH!

     John Deacon liked to study in silence, but he also liked to people watch. His favorite place to do both was the Nest.

     He knew he wasn’t the first to discover the Nest, and he knew he wasn’t the only student at Imperial to use it. But it gave John a twinge of satisfaction to imagine the secret study spot was his and his alone. It wasn’t exactly a secret…it’s just that no one ever ventured to explore the government documents section on the fourth story of the Imperial College central library.

i made the john deacon sim. i made the me sim. there’s some bitch trying to come between me and my man though?? she’s just hanging around our house and sleeping there? eating all our food ? but she’s not our roommate?? so like, idk wtf is going on w that but i’m gonna throw hands if she keeps flirting with john yall i ain’t messin around

so far the sims are just friendly roommates but john did watch a rom com and he was feeling flirty while chatting with my sim so ??? progress maybe. we shall see

john has a job as a ‘computer whiz’ i think,, that’s what its called idk. he plays bass (that’s a lie they didn’t have a bass guitar so i settled for a regular old six string and i’m calling it a bass) in his free time. he’s developed the cooking and programming skills. i’m so proud of him

Adventures in Dumpster Diving (John Deacon x Reader)

Summary: Living by yourself in a sketchy apartment building meant a lot of freedom, but also a lot of things to fix—leaky faucets, used and sad furniture that you take home, not to mention your own increasing loneliness. One day a dumpster-dive for a Victrola record player brings you and a certain long-haired bassist together. John’s electrical engineering skills come in handy and he ends up fixing everything around your house, and providing you with a bit of company. (Set during early 70s)

I feel that I have a need to explain myself, I have a thing for guys who can fix things so I got a bit carried away ahaha.

Word Count: 7.5k literally the longest thing i’ve ever written for any Queen fic good god. Also I am not a fan of the title but i am sleepy and titles are hard, sorry.

Warnings: foul language, smut, friends-to-lovers BS, Deaky sass

You’re not quite sure what possessed you to quite literally dive into a pile of trash for what was essentially a used chunk of wood in the form of an old Victrola record player, but it may have been a subconscious need to fill the emptiness of the flat you’d recently moved into—a place you could only describe as lonely even after spending three months trying to pull it together.

Maybe it was because you thought that a bit of music might help fill the long lapses of silences within the paint-peeled walls.

Or it could’ve been your own hero-complex that made you think that you had to save the almost sad slab of oak, rescuing it from the guy who carelessly set it on the side of the road on a heap of trash where you picked it up, the vibrant cherry-colored object catching your eye against the dreary pavement.
