Nightmare Legacy Challenge for the Sims 4
Rules written by @matchacake, challenge inspired by @lilsimsie‘s current LP over on her YouTube channel!
The challenge is simple – complete 10 sim generations with the same family, but on short lifespan! Complete the challenge on story mode or nightmare mode for even more suffering!
Disclaimer: This is by no means a new take on the classic legacy challenge, and I’m sure there are many other challenges out there that are very similar! I’ve just been binge-watching lilsimsie’s current LP whilst suffering a bad flare-up of my chronic illness and felt so inspired that I pulled out my old gaming laptop so I could play something similar in bed! Now that I’m going into gen 2 I thought I would write up some rules that I could personally follow, and have decided to share them here with you. xo

As you all may or may not know, I have a thing for wall hangings that have sayings and/or weird patterns. This set by Skitchism from society6 is the former, with six different sayings [well 5 because two are about my love pizza.]
Anywho! I like them, and I wanted to share them with you all, because that’s what I do. They’re on an EA mesh [specifically the Giraffe painting] and can be found where ever paintings can be in your game.
Enjoy!

Using S3DT without US Keyboard Layout
This small tutorial is for anyone who's having trouble with the key commands of the much needed mod Sims 3 Decorator Tools by @omedapixel
Since it was hinted months(?) ago, I've been eagerly waiting for the release. And it didn't disappoint. One thing though, as I recently realised that it can cause confusion on non-US keyboard users.
The reason keys '[' and ']' provided by the mod is not working is because the 'commands' are bound to the actual physical keys on your board and not to the symbols on the keys. For example, to rotate the camera I use two keys right next to the M key, and the symbols on them are just letters in my language and not the US Keyboard symbols.
To fix the issue, first look at your own keyboard and detect the letters P, L and M. These letters are usually where letters end and symbols start on US keyboard. In any variation of QWERTY for some other languages there may/will be extra letters on the keyboard.
What you will do is note the keys next to 'Enter', RShift and sometimes the Arrow keys on your keyboard and whatever is next to them. The trick is to select the physical keys and not the symbols on them. It will be slightly different on every keyboard depending on your language variation.
In theory, anything between P,L,M and Enter, RShift, Arrow Keys should work.
So, if you have '.' or ',' next to your Enter key that is the key -not the symbol- you will use to send things up or down. In a way, your own '[' or ']'. After you decide upon two physical keys on your keyboard to use with up10cm and down10cm commands of the mod, you will go look at the US Keyboard Layout and detect those two physical keys and what's labelled on them.
You will use whatever symbols are on the keys of US Keyboard, in the mod's TRIG resource. Then add 'Shift' variants for 1cm up & down. You need to take notes of the keys and what symbols they have on your keyboard because they will be different from the US layout.
In case you're confused about the whole process - I'm not sure if I explained it well - I'm also pasting the values I have changed in TRIG resource and they work fine for me. You will still need to find what symbol is there on your keyboard for a US '/', though.
/ = MoveUp10CM -> . on my keyboard ' = MoveDown10CM -> a special letter on my keyboard shift / = MoveUp1CM shift ' = MoveDown1CM q = ResetHeight shift 8 = MoveForward5CM shift 5 = MoveBackward5CM shift 4 = MoveLeft5CM shift 6 = MoveRight5CM shift d = EnableDecoratorMode control 8 = TiltForward control 5 = TiltBackward control 4 = TiltLeft control 6 = TiltRight shift q = ClearSelected control alt 4 = TurnLeft control alt 6 = TurnRight
You can try these first as a base and maybe move on from there. It's a 'try and see if it works' kind of thing, really. I also changed the numpad values to regular number keys on my keyboard because I don't have a numpad. If the numpad works for you, don't touch those. And remember, keys you enter in the TRIG resource are not the symbols you will press on your keyboard. I noted down the symbols and what they do on a paper so I wouldn't forget.
NOTE: Don't use 'q' unless you also use Awesomemod, since I believe it will quit the game. 😅 I use Awesomemod and I use 'q' key to reset the height.
I hope this helps and if you have questions, just ask either in the comments or as an ask, or just DM me - whichever you prefer. I will make additions to the post if needed.

Reblog if you are a simblr of either the Sims 2 or the Sims 3 (or both).
I wanna support more simblr accounts despite have being retired from Sims role playing myself, especially since they're overshadowed by the Sims 4 nowadays. I have nothing against those who enjoy the Sims 4, but as a long time simmer I still wish to support other fellow simmers who are active in the same simblr as the one I grew up with. 🫶🏻
And yes, you're free to reblog this even if you're retired but still love the Sims!

PIGTAILS BE GONE - FOR REAL THIS TIME
This is a tutorial how to fix hairstyles that have this glitch!
You might have seen my default replacement that battles this problem, but of course it doesn't actually fix the problem - it's just symptom relief. Well, I have good news, after some investigations I finally figured out what actually causes the pigtail glitch and how to fix it.
Please read further under the cut.
You might have noticed some EA hairstyles have a different naked hair set to them. For example, if your sim is wearing the base game beanie they would shower in a different hair. It doesn't work correctly, though, as sims would also age up in their 'naked' hairstyle.
This is the problem that causes the pigtail glitch. A lot of cc hairs are made in TSRW with the pigtail hair as a base (or another cc hair as a base that was cloned from the pigtails) and apparently TSRW doesn't unset the 'naked hair', so it still references the pigtails in the CASP. S3OC is a bit better with this, but also not 100% reliable. When the naked hair is the same for the normal hairstyle, it goes well. When it's a different hair though, it also doesn't unlink it and your sim will age up with the hair referenced there.
I can imagine some of you out there don't have a clue what I'm saying right now, so I'm going to show you how:
So, I've download a hair that I know for sure had the pigtail problem, because I noticed it had the pigtails in the lower lods when making a default out of it.
Open the package file in s3pe, locate the CASP, select it and click on grid.
CasPart1Index = Naked hair CasPart2Index = Previous age state hair
Locate CasPart1Index, under clothing category, select it and click on the drop down arrow. You can now see which resource key it references.
When I open the afHairMidPigtails package....
Surprise, surprise, it's the same resource key! This is why so many hairs age up to the pigtails.
Now, to fix this:
Back to the package file of the hair you want to fix. Right click the CASP and select Copy ResourceKey.
Select the CASP, click on Grid. Locate CasPart1Index again, but this time select the little black arrow next to the drop down menu.
Click Add
Select CASP at type
Paste the ResourceKey you've copied
Click save.
Click on CasPart1Index again, select the drop down menu and choose the CASP you just added. It should be the last one in the list. Click commit. Save the package file and voila!
If you want to be extra safe, you can also completely delete the pigtail ressource in this same menu you added the new one.
Now, it might also be good practice to immediately unset the previous age-state hair.
Locate CasPart2Index, click on the dropdown menu and choose the empty resourceKey, with all the zero's.
Unless of course you have a child version of this hair you want to link to it. Then do the same steps as above, but instead op copying the resource key of the CASP in the hair you want to link it to, copy the CASP of the child hair in the other package and add it to the hair you want to link it to in the same way as above.
This 100% fixes the hair if it has the pigtail disease! Yay!

Contemporary Teen Bedroom Set 🛏
Hi everyone, I’ve finished my first set of conversions from The Sims 4: High School Years! I’m breaking the objects up into sets since EA did a really good job this time around making complete sets of bedroom furniture. The first one up is contemporary themed and includes a bed, desk, dresser, end table, shelving unit, rug, and a few other décor items.
Most of the objects included have overlays on some areas while others remain CAStable. I did this to provide as much flexibility as possible for customization, so there are several CAStable presets available for each object. The top photo is fully decorated and the bottom photo shows just the objects that come in the set.
I don’t want to make this post too terribly long, so if you’re curious about where an object in the top preview photo came from please don’t hesitate to ask!

A More Purrrfect Rug (3x3 Version) by M.M.A.A.
"Hey, everyone!
Welcome to my first TS3 CC object!
It always bothered my how The Sims 3 never had a classic-style/country-style 3x3 round rug. We got a 3x3 round rug in TS3 Into the Future but, obviously, it had a futuristic style but I wanted something more classical. Plus, I wanted something that I could fit under a 1-tile dining table.

Mattresses & Frames Conversions [Pt. 3]
Here's my third set of converted mattresses and bed frames! The conversions are from the following packs: The Sims 4 (#4), The Sims 4: Snowy Escape (#1), The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs (#5), and The Sims 4: City Living (#6).
I also converted the mattress and bed frame from the SIMKEA Furnishings Stuff Pack (#3) and the bed frame from the Tiny Living Plus - CC Addon (#2) by @illogicalsims.
The bed frame and mattress from The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs are longer than the others to leave room up top for the pillows, but I've also included "standard" versions that can work with other mattress/frame combinations. And I edited the bed frames from The Sims 4: Snowy Escape and The Sims 4: City Living to convert them from singles to doubles.
The mattress in Preview #1 can be found here, the mattress in Preview #2 can be found here, and the mattress in Preview #6 can be found here.

Growing Pains by Twinsimming 🥰😥🤗😴🤪🥺
Growing up is hard, and going through phases may make it a little harder.
Inspired by the phases system from The Sims 4: Parenthood, this mod aims to make younger sims’ personalities more dynamic.
This is a script mod that can be placed in your Packages folder. It was built and tested on 1.69 but should work fine on 1.67.
Requirements
The Sims 3: Late Night
The Sims 3: Generations
The Sims 3: Showtime
The Sims 3: Supernatural
The Sims 3: University Life
Overview
Phases System
List of Phases
New Moodlets
Phases System
Toddlers, children, and teens can now experience phases that change their personality.
Phases are moodlets that temporarily change one of a sim’s traits. Phase moodlets last for 2 days, with a 48 hour cooldown between the end of their most recent phase and when a sim is able to experience a phase again.
Each time a toddler, child, or teen sim wakes up, they will have a chance of experiencing a phase. The base chance of experiencing a phase is 20%, but this chance can increase or decrease by 5% based on the factors/moodlets listed below:
Increased Chance
- Witnessed Divorce - Witnessed Death - Witnessed Betrayal - Heartbroken - Stuff Taken - Stir Crazy - Abducted by Aliens - Embarrassed - Lost a Friend - Negative Mood - Has Enemy - In Trouble (Generations punishment system) - Stress Moodlets (Stressed, Strained) - Has No Friends Outside of Household - Adult Household Member Dislikes Children - Negative Relationship with Adult Household Member - Negative Prom Moodlets (Ditched, Got in a Fight, Denied) - Negative Celebrity Moodlets (Got Recognized Negative, Publicly Disgraced) - Negative Job Moodlets (Overworked, Fired) - Negative Social Moodlets (Lonely, Desolate, It’s Like I’m Invisible, Misunderstood, Need to Brood, Rejected) - Negative Romance Moodlets (Rejected First Kiss, Betrayed, Dumped by Text, Rejected by Ex) - Punishment Moodlets (Got in Trouble, Got Put in Timeout, Privilege Revoked, Grounded, Prank Backfire, Caught Pranking, Caught After Curfew, Detention)
Decreased Chance
- Has Friend Outside Household - Friends with Adult Household Member - Adult Household Member Has Positive Family Trait (Family Oriented, Nurturing)
List of Phases
There are a total of 28 phases total, with 5 available to toddlers, 21 available to children, and 28 available to teens. Once a phase is available, it will carry over into the next life stage. The phase names and the traits they add to sims are listed below:
Toddlers
Messy Phase (Slob)
Irritable Phase (Grumpy)
Certified Outdoor Hater Phase (Hates the Outdoors)
Restless Phase (Light Sleeper)
Clumsy Phase (Clumsy)
Children
Mean Streak Phase (Mean Spirited)
Distant Phase (Loner)
Clingy Phase (Shy)
Rebellious Phase (Rebellious)
Self-Absorbed Phase (Diva)
Sticky Fingers Phase (Kleptomaniac)
*Emotional Phase (Over Emotional)
Ill-Mannered Phase (Inappropriate)
Quick Temper Phase (Hot-Headed)
Anxious Phase (Neurotic)
Fearful Phase (Coward)
Lazy Phase (Couch Potato)
Erratic Phase (Insane)
Stoic Phase (No Sense of Humor)
Daydreamer Phase (Absent Minded)
Devious Phase (Evil)
*Shown in preview photos.
Teens
Loser Phase (Loser)
Materialistic Phase (Snob)
Emo Phase (Brooding)
Childish Phase (Childish)
Prudish Phase (Unflirty)
Noncommittal Phase (Commitment Issues)
Cringe Phase (Socially Awkward)
New Moodlets
There are 28 new moodlets, one for each phase, and all of them last for 2 days and have no effect on a sim’s mood.
Tuning
All of the tunable values can be found on the mod download page under the header “Tuning”.
Conflicts & Known Issues
Because this mod temporarily changes a sim’s traits, your sim may become unclickable if you also have Branndo10’s DrugLord mod installed at the same time. (Thank you to @monocodoll for the heads up!)
Otherwise, there shouldn’t be any conflicts.

Keep Warm Collection
This set originally came about when I wanted to convert The Sims 4: Seasons thermostat to act as a more discrete fireplace for my sims’ homes. Once I figured out how to get the fireplaces working (after lots of trial and error :P), I decided that I couldn’t just do one fireplace, so I did six!
I removed the fire effects from both the thermostat and the radiator, but they still emit an orange glow to let you know that they’re lit. They also have the skinny metal chimneys, but those can easily be removed with the moveobjects on cheat.

Fashion Forward Collection 👝
This is probably my favorite set of conversions that I’ve done so far! I’d imagine this collection would suit a fashionista or style influencer type sim rather well. @mlyssimblr was kind enough to allow me to convert some of her creations, so the bulk of this set is from her. The original versions of the clothes, clothing racks, and clothing baskets can be found here and the original PC and laptop are here. The desk is a modified version of the video station desk from The Sims 4: Get Famous, the desk chair, style board, and one of the wall hangings are from the base game, the other wall hanging is from The Sims 4: City Living, and the stack of magazines is from The Sims 4: Moschino Stuff. I couldn’t resist dressing up the set in the first photo, so the second photo shows only the objects that are included in the download.

Tough and Tufted Sectional Set + Chaise Lounge Mod
I’m back with more conversions from The Sims 4: Dream Home Decorator! This time it’s one of the sectional sets, with 16 pieces total. Each of the sectional sofa pieces acts like a living chair, with the exception of one piece that acts like a loveseat, one that acts like a coffee table, and another that acts like a lounge chair (not pictured). The pieces fit together seamlessly, though you may have to do a bit of fiddling with the curved piece in the third picture.
Additionally, there are four chaises to choose from, which can fit into any sectional configuration. They’re also functional. Yes - that’s right - functional chaises!! I converted the chaise animations from The Sims 4 and made a simple script mod so sims can nap or relax on them, like my sim in the last picture. The interactions are available for Teens and Above, but there is a bit of sinking with teen sims. Nothing major though.
And a very special thank you to everyone over at the TS3 Creators Cave discord for helping me troubleshoot and test this mod! You guys are amazing 🥳
Note: In order for the chaises to function, you need to place the “twinsimming_Chaise Lounge Script” file in your Mods folder under Packages.
