Haven’t posted on here since May?? But I noticed there are still some of you in my feed, so if anyone would like to know … I’ve learned so much through all of this. I’ve made some really great friends. It was because of the communities I found through tumblr I was able to find and accept parts of myself in real life. And even find a group of friends I consider family now. Everything is fleeting, & me updating this blog seems to have come to a soft ending. My email is [email protected] (i know, haha). Reach out to me, don’t be a stranger. We’ll get through this. To clear skies, moonagedreamer

Bears, Sharks, tigers, etc. are teriffying and powerful creatures for a reason. They were not put on this earth for us to tame or mess with. Respect their power! In the end, the only real threat to peace on earth is mankind.

in 1994, the gay and lesbian latino arts group viva did a calendar project addressing support for and discussion of hiv in the latino community. based on the concept of the calendarios which are given out by mexican bakeries, carnicerÃas, markets and restaurants - viva wanted an image that was culturally a synthesis of both our latin@ / mexican heritage and our identity as queer / gay. i chose to reinterpret an image by the mexican painter jesus helguera whose work illustrating aztec mythology (albeit in a classical western european method) has been reproduced for decades on calendars, the calendars have become a staple of chicano popular culture underneath the image is the edict: ‘apoya tus hermanos con vih / support your brothers with hiv.’

Girl-on-girl hate is women attacking each other for their body type, skin color, hair, race, etc. instead of supporting and defending each other.
Girl-on-girl hate is not women calling out other women’s racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.
Don’t try to use a twisted definition of feminism to demonize women who have the courage to call out unacceptable behavior when they see it.

Never forget that black Americans welcomed and accepted Jewish refugees in this country before almost any one else. We must always stand together.
