As Mallory stretches out his forepaws, Misty gleefully fulfills his request, practically throwing herself at him with all the energy she had in life. “Of course, Papa!” His paws fit around her so effortlessly, as they had time and time again. It feels like so long ago since he’d been able to hold her. Yet a father could never forget the feeling of his daughter in his arms. The warmth of her little body, tucked in close. Her face beaming up at him with the brightest smile.

Mallory wishes this moment could last forever, but all too soon, Misty is pulling away again. His paws stretch after her reluctantly. “Now, a promise is a promise! Go ahead, and then we can go catch one that’s even bigger!” “Alright, alright!” he agrees with a chuckle, warmed by her excitement. However, as he leans forward to take a bite of the bird Misty had so eagerly offered, he hesitates. Can you eat in dreams? What if this took him away from her again? But Misty’s eyes are so bright as she watches him, clearly waiting for his approval. He could never say no to her. Mallory takes a bite.

Wait.

There’s a ringing in his ear. Something isn’t right.

What if this isn’t a dream?

They had all set out to face their next evil. The Parade. They had gotten split up. Now found himself in a small group of Evokers, much like how it had been when they faced The Scientist.

Mallory had never fallen asleep.

There’s a deep sinking feeling in his chest. He remembers the shadows in the forest. Abyss’ warning. Matagiin running into the darkness, crying out for her lady. There are no shadows or beasts now. No voices luring them into the fog. The sky is blue again, the forest beautiful and inviting. Misty is right here. In his arms.

But…Misty is dead.

Mallory looks down, slowly, pulling Misty’s face from his fur to look into her eyes.

“…You aren’ my daughter…Are you?”

Beepis, Rolf, and Slarf

Rolf and Rolfina If someone told me rgbtrio would play WolfQuest today, I would not have believed them. I've been playing WolfQuest since 2016, and I never thought Ranboo would have even heard of it, let alone play it! This is a world-colliding moment for me, and man. I enjoyed every minute of it. This stream genuinely made my day, so of course I had to draw some fanart! Beepis (Sneeg's wolf) is on the right, Rolf (Ranboo) in the middle, and Slarf (Charlie) on the left. And then the second image is Rolf and his daughter, Rolfina.

I haven't drawn this guy in...quite a while. It's been a while since the DreamSMP ended, and for the most part I've moved on. I still watch a few of the creators, and despite some of the more recent uh...issues...I do still remember it fondly. And there's a certain half enderman that meant a lot to me. He still does really. But it's time to say goodbye. So I wanted to make just one last thing before Ranboo's rebrand. For a little context, Ranboo is still gonna be Ranboo, but he's moving away from Minecraft and the old dsmp days. He already has really, for a while now, but I think this rebrand is really solidifying it. So...I wanted to draw c!Ranboo. One more time.  See you on the other side. I look forward to seeing where Ranboo goes from here.

She stood frozen as her reflection pulled itself from the mirror, her own bloodstained paws emerging from the glass. There was a feral look in her reflection's eyes. Like a cornered animal. Blood drizzled down her heaving chest from a fresh wound. Her body was hunched with the weight of what she had just done.   

For a moment, they stared at each other, almost as if it were still a reflection, though one look could reveal that was not the case. Blood dripped from the mirror Princess' muzzle.

A fearful whining emerged from the reflection's throat before erupting into a screech as she lunged for the real Princess. Flailing claws connected with Princess' shoulder, knocking her out of her shock. She cried out, staggering backwards. She brought a paw up to her shoulder, seeming almost confused as she pulled it back to see blood staining her paw. 

Another frenzied swipe whistled past her ear, and Princess moved instinctively, lunging to pin her reflection.

The reflection let out a garbled cry, barely managing to form words, "I DON'T WANNA DIE!"

Princess' breathing quickened as she stared into her own terrified eyes. She had seen eyes like them before. So full of fear and desperation. She had watched the light fade from them after she finished her job. But now she was confronted with her own eyes...and she found she didn't know what to do next.

I've always been a sucker for trail cam horror type stuff...glowing eyes in the darkness. I had already described Princess' reflection as a cornered animal in the post, and I thought it would be cool to really embrace that animalistic-ness by making her eyes glow like they do when you flash a light towards an animal in the dark. 

Also! Just wanted to share the original sketch for this, since I still quite like it, even though it was just done on my phone with my finger pfff I wanted to make a cleaned up version for the actual post, but the messiness of the original sketch is just kinda a neat vibe.

"Climb up and embrace what is yours, for you will not inherit the darkness."

The first images that flash before Mallory are fuzzy and distant. A warm face he can barely remember. A distant silhouette he never bothered to try. And then the familiar face he wishes he could forget. A cat he once saw as a brother is at his side as he relives his days in the Witch’s Death in flashes. He finds he can no longer remember the faces of the cats who’s blood stains his claws. His past self looks into empty void in the shape of a cat as he strikes. He sees yellow eyes, watching him cross the river. Watching him leave. The last yellow eyes he saw before the end. And then he can see her. His heart aches as he catches glimpses of her deep blue eyes. The small bundle of fur she cradles at her side. A kitten’s stumpy legs growing stronger and stronger as she ages. His flower’s beautiful smile as she watches their daughter play, pressed against his side. And then there’s only dirt. There are tears streaming down Mallory’s face when he stands before a shadowy figure. His only company in the void. Her name is on his lips, but as the figure slowly lifts it’s face, all he feels is emptiness. Glowing eyes meet his, and they pierce into his soul with an agony unlike anything he’s known. An energy floods through his hollow veins, sending pulses down his spine. And then everything stops. Mallory has grown familiar with this quiet. Only this time, it reaches for him, reaches for his very being. And turns him to nothing.

Mallory is so still he could almost be dead, until you catch a glimpse of the faint rise and fall of his side. Bleary eyes reveal golden slits as he squints, pupils flitting about the blurry shapes of his surroundings. Mallory’s eyes slowly open wider, his vision clearing to reveal the lab and the bars of the cage. The memories of The Scientist’s appearance flood back, but for once, Mallory is quiet. With a small shaky breath, he turns to look at his own side and hind legs, relieved to find they look normal. Though he’s still not entirely sure if the lack of obvious changes is better…or worse. Afterall, what was that fluid meant to do? And what was with the crazy dream? “Is everyone okay?” one of the other cats calls, tentatively. Mallory takes a deep breath and pulls himself to his paws, ducking to avoid hitting his head on the top of the cage again. “Yeah, I’m o-” he freezes mid response. Mallory’s eyes lock onto his forepaws. His legs start trembling as he takes in the unnaturally white fur that stained the tips of his toes. Beneath them, a strange golden glow seems to radiate, gently illuminating the cold metal. His claws grip at the metal in silent panic as the trembling spreads to the rest of his body. “What the…what…What did you DO TO ME?”

Mallory is a YELLOW soul!! And he's got some shiny new white toes to prove it. Much to his horror, of course. Mallory here does NOT like to be experimented on. Oh, and also his feet are glowing, and that is NOT normal. He doesn't like that.

Skipped a few days of Genloss June (Been busy with my church's VBS thing), but I've been meaning to draw this since episode 2, so I couldn't miss today's prompt. Not super happy with the glitch effect, but the noise under it is kinda cool, I guess?

Day 2 of Gen Loss June!! And today's prompt is the Slime Demon, everybody's favorite goopy man! 

I feel like I've finally gotten good enough at drawing people to actually enjoy drawing people, and it's just...so nice. I'll always be an animal artist, and that will always be my strongest subject...but man, it's so nice to be able to make fanart for whatever I want without having to worry about it being so out of my comfort zone, I end up hating everything I draw. That's not to say I don't still have obvious flaws to work on...I mean, hands can go die. And too crazy of poses are still awkward. Clothing wrinkles a little off. But it's really getting somewhere. And I'm proud of myself.

Also Charlie absolutely stole the show. Love that guy.

Gosh, I am so so obsessed with Generation Loss.

If you don't know what that is, it's Ranboo's horror project which was streamed live on Twitch. The VODs are on his YT VOD channel now. And it's soooo cool. I highly recommend it. The first couple episodes are goofy, but stick with it. It'll make sense. The third gets a lot more intense, and is definitely the best episode. Ranboo has been working on it for a couple years now, and I am so incredibly proud of them. It's one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time.

I've been wanting to make fanart for it since the first episode, and just was overwhelmed with too many ideas. There are so many sick shots to redraw and cool concepts to try and visualize…I saw a Genloss June prompt list on Twitter, and that helped me actually decide on a piece to draw. I want to participate in a lot of the prompts, so I'll probably be posting a lot more Gen Loss this month…Be prepared. XD I'm so sorry, I just can't shut up about this silly show. I probably won't post everyday though.

Today's prompt is gl!Ranboo…I really liked how the glow on the mask looked in this shot, so I thought it'd be cool to redraw this one for my first piece. You could also see the hand creeping up behind him, so I decided to go with that and also added a second hand. Though I wish I had changed the posing on the original hand to fit the one I added cause it looks a bit awkwardly limp in comparison. Other than that though, I'm pretty happy with how this came out.

When Princess looked back up, blinking away the remnants of her tearful promise, only Empress stood in front of her. The two sisters stood in silence for a few moments before both stepping forward, meeting in a silent embrace.

The day dragged on as any normal day would, and Princess took full advantage of the time. She knew it wasn’t real, but it still provided some comfort to get to spend some time with Empress again. She wished she had taken the time to say goodbye before she left. As night began to fall, the rest of the family returned. This time, no bitter words were exchanged. Instead, weapons were cast aside, and pelts were pressed together as the family curled up to sleep. A part of Princess was reluctant, knowing when she woke up, they would all be gone, but she chose to relish the moment. She would likely never get this chance again. So she simply closed her eyes, a soft smile on her face.

How do you define paradise? The words come from somewhere in the back of her mind. As she drifts off to sleep, she gives a silent reply.

This is paradise.

[Princess, Level 2 -> 3]

I may or may not have forgotten to eat a couple times working on this, but shhh it's okay, I just ate a liiittle late. But here's Princess' level up from 2 to 3! Also featuring the last two posts from a mini event we were doing in TPE. I wanted to make the landscape look very bright and kind of fantastical, so I tried something a little different with the sky. Not totally sure how I feel about it, but I think I like it. Also played with shading again, just something a tiiiny bit different from the piece of June, and I think I like it. Just a small change that makes it a little easier to manipulate some things. Overall, pretty happy with this! Also featuring Empress without her mask...but...I wonder.

Is that really what she looks like under the mask?

For my final in VFX, I wanted to make a little June jump out from behind my laptop while I was drawing…June. So I had to…draw June. XD I also wanted to experiment more with my shading. I think I'm getting to something I like, but I want to play around a little more.

Finished this a couple days ago for Princess' new bio...I wanted a cool family portrait that looked a bit like a painting of a royal family to fit the princess-y theme! This was a lot of fun to draw, and honestly, I'm disappointed I didn't record my process for this one. I was listening to her Spotify playlist while I worked, and it was just kinda cool vibes. Would have made a cool speedpaint, I think, and I haven't done one in a little while.
