Who can join?

This event is open to artists and writers of all abilities, in any stage of their fandom journey – a fun opportunity for the LCF family to come together and celebrate the various relationships between different characters in the LCF cast written by Yoo Ryeo Han.

What is a pinch-hitter?

Pinch-hitters are back up artists or writers who replace an artist/writer that drops out —anyone interested should take a look at the pinch-hit document. (It can be found within the sign up form)

You'll be asked to claim a minimum of 3 projects in the sign-up form. Whether you are an artist or a writer (or both), the projects you choose signify who you are willing to step in for should someone drop out.

When will I be contacted for pinch hit? 

Pinch-hitters will only be required if an artist or writer drops out of the event. As such, signing up as a pinch-hitter doesn't guarantee of whether you'll be contacted. However, your presence is very appreciated.

When learning about the White Star's curse, I genuinely wondered if Cale and the White Star meeting was also an effect of the White Star's curse, because In my head, the White Star would appreciate anything that helps him achive his goal of godhood, so I thought that Cale winning and slowly taking, one by one, the White Star's subordinates was similar to how the curse makes all the things he apreciates disappear with time.

Oh my god...I've gone down a rabbit hole willingly. I don't even know why I decided to look up Archons vs Cale stats, but look at this-

Zhongli (Geo)

Why Cale Wins:

Both are shield gods, but Zhongli relies on Geo constructs and petrification, which Cale can withstand. Cale’s destructive fire blasts can also shatter geo shields faster than Zhongli can rebuild them.

Extra Edge: Cale’s brain + shamelessness means he’d hire Zhongli before fighting him, offering “part-time consultant fees” in Mora (probably borrowed from Ningguang).

Result: A stalemate… until Zhongli realizes Cale is quietly running half of Liyue.

Honestly, the funniest thing about thinking about TCF is realising how pissed off the White Star and Arm must have been about Cale and his group consistently beating them. This is made even funnier when you realise that physically Cale and his main crew look like a bunch or teenagers, kids and animals, who for some reason keep outsmarting and beating them. Like, I don't think they'd know Choi Han has actually been alive hundreds of years, and physically, he looks 16. There's two random cats running around, spreading poisoned fog, but TBF I can't remember how long the cats are hidden, Cale himself looks and physically is 18, can't remember Lock's age but I feel like he's also around 15. I imagine Rosalyn is also a similar age but I don't know if / when we get her age. And I just have to wonder how pissed Arm was when they found out they were being bested by a couple of teens and like early 20 year olds. Especially the White Star since he's been planning this for so long and he's being beaten by teens. I wonder if they said "we would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling kids, and their cats." Also the fact that Cale and his crew will be everywhere for a few weeks, go completely off the grid, no one hears anything about them, and then suddenly they're back, and, oh, yep, the group's definitely bigger. Hey, wait, weren't they with us before? Like I like to imagine that, as time passed, they tried to stay confident and seem cocky, but were lowkey terrified, because what the fuck? Where does he keep finding these people? What do you mean there's like 7 Dragons on his side? What do you mean he has that many ancient powers? It's been two years. How did he do this so fast? Like, imagine being the White Star, or the God of Despair, or worse, a low ranking Arm member. Like, yes, we're a cult, we follow the White Star, but... do we really have to fight these guys?

You know...I had a sudden realization as I'm starting to re-read the novel so I can catch up to the second part (I'm getting really impatient and I just want to read more of their chaos).

Despite how easy he makes it seems, Cale's natural charisma is one of the reasons why a lot of people are quick to trust him.

Like imagine meeting all these distrustful characters (Molan father and son, Choi Han, the kids, Alberu, the dragons) and have them trust, follow, and care for you for the whole story? And he also handles them like it's a piece of cake? He's "scared" but he sometimes lets them get away with doing stuff like a tired old man. Like I know it's a thing that his friends and family are so done with him being a chaotic little shit who faints every few minutes but imagine being in his shoes and dealing with all these dangerous and equally chaotic little shits.

That's basically impossible. It's extremely hard to do the same thing he did. If it were another person, they won't even last a minute with them. They'll probably experience different kinds of trauma or death or worse.

And this guy is completely oblivious to it.

I mean, if you know his past as Kim Rok Soo, it makes a lot of sense but even then, I don't think he was in the right headspace to notice his charisma in his previous world. He's so in denial about himself even in this new world though and I honestly understand why some nobles were so scared of him. Sand Ailan was right. He's like a king.

At this point, I don't know who's babysitting who, especially if you remember the mess Choi Han and Mary did when he was away. Or when Rosalyn did something explosive. Or the kids. Or Ron. I guess it's because he's so extra in the way he does things that it kind of hides how crazy the rest of the characters are.

At best, Alberu, Beacrox, Bud, and Lock are the "normal" ones in the group if you can even call anyone "normal" in this story. You can't change my mind. Even Eruhaben doesn't count. He's also a little shit from time to time and he's proud of it.

How foolish you were

This is such a silly idea but- Cale being able to talk to animals. And talk as in mutual understanding, not Cale randomly chirping and squeaking.

See, he already has such affinity with nature due to his APs, alongside people commenting how he smells like nature and forests. And considering all of this, animals are always rather fond of him (this part is canon).

So, maybe he discovers that he can talk to them after gathering about 3-4 APs, and just shrugs it off, adaptable as he is.

Now imagine his fam randomly finding him sitting on trees, birds perched on his shoulders and squirrels nibbling on his loose shirt.

Imagine finding him lying in a meadow and an hour later, there's literal snakes coiled around him sleeping peacefully. He wakes up, groans, and shifts them a little to turn over and continues napping. All to his family's horror.

Instead of sending scouts and receiving reports, he just whistles and a hawk emerges out of nowhere and lands on his head. While Raon is left feeling odd in the corner.

Imagine him chatting with doves, saying things like 'what, your house got destroyed? Tsk,' and inviting them over to the trees near his villa. Saying 'that's the way to my home, there's a lot of bushes there' while pointing directions to a hedgehog. Imagine him watching a pair of swans and smiling so brightly, shouting 'congratulations!' and the swans actually bow politely and swim away. All the while others are just ????

Imagine the plethora of misunderstandings since Cale never bothered to explain anything. Some assume it's his usual shenanigans, while some actually find it terrifying.

And he always carries a strange pouch with him. Others think its some mysterious power or a bunch of golden plaques. But no. It's a bag containing premium quality bird feed, nuts, dried flowers and fruits and sometimes, bird eggs. And worms. And raw meat. Because believe it or not, even animals don't work for free (He wouldn't accept bothering them for free either).

Please i want to see him nodding and humming along to rabbits settled around his lap, complaining of their lives. I want these goofballs to spread news around the continent of a human who looks even prettier than disney princesses.

And the best part—Cale glaring at a sloth crawling atop a branch and just saying, 'Yk, you're living my dream. Just like that.' And the sloth just squeaks in pity. Which only irritates him further because even the natural smile of a sloth looks mocking to him. His fam doesn't even bother at this point.
