wait wait wait can we talk about the scene where batman trudges through the flooded club holding a flare & guiding people to safety was a symbolic baptism for him? just prior to this moment he���d been plunged into the water and nearly drowned, but emerged realizing that he was not vengeance as he’d been so intent on calling himself. he was gotham’s protector. he was meant to bring gotham towards the light, not shroud them in more shadows. that night, batman, beacon of hope, was truly born both for the citizens and for bruce wayne himself.
