thinking about hand me down culture in camp half-blood. how are the year-rounders getting new clothes, they only seem to have camp-related tshirts in the store. where are the pants pajamas socks underwear. what does getting clothes passed down from your older siblings look like when your older siblings are an unbroken line going back 4000 years. everyone is just passing around the same 9 pairs of jeans from 1963. it is vital to have campers who go home for the school year because that's the only way new clothes can enter the ecosystem. at any given moment there is a new camper wearing a waterland tshirt.

I don’t think people understand sometimes. If I was raped and got pregnant (I’m asexual so I’m literally not having sex otherwise) and was “forbidden” from an abortion, I would repeatedly stab myself in the uterus with the nearest object. 0 hesitation. Kill me and the clump of unwanted cells, I don’t give a shit. Or even a good old fashioned baseball bat to the stomach, good way to get rid of it.

What I’m saying is, taking away people’s right to abortion is killing two people. You aren’t banning abortions only safe ones, you aren’t saving a “child” if you kill its egg donor (and yes I count killing as emotionally as well).

I also happen to know I would be a shit parent. I would kill that child, probably accidentally. I know I’m not fit to be a parent, I never thought I would be one and have never wanted kids. So kill me twice I guess

it's so funny to me that conservatives think the reason university students become more liberal is because of the actual course material and not like. the fact that universities in the US introduce are oftentimes the first place Americans are introduced to a walkable environment with affordable health care, with community spaces for any affiliation under the sun where they give you free resources and cheap food. with included public transit and opportunities for training in your field of choice. and you realize that for how much you're spending on tuition/taxes, yeah, you do deserve these things, it would be insane not to have those. and then you graduate and go back to having to buy a car to drive 20 minutes to the grocery store.

People really need to realise that “media can affect real life” doesn’t mean “this character does bad things so people will read that and start doing bad things” and actually means “ideas in fiction especially stereotypes about minority groups can affect how the reader views those groups, an authors implicit prejudices can be passed on to readers”
