josie chuckled, appreciating his sense of humor. he was entertaining if nothing else. “ aww what a shame.” evil? was it the dark clothes and and hair that kept reading as evil? “you call it evil, i call it asserting myself and having healthy boundaries.” granted she was more interested in the taboos of the magic world now. “i’m finally, for the first time ever. not worried about what everyone is thinking about me. especially my sister.” yet...here josie was making sure that randall wasn’t too upset with her. why? was she worried that be mad at her? she didn’t know.

“i suppose i should thank you,” jose said to her uncle kai. “you were the only one in the family that could see past lizzie and into me. everyone thought that she was the unhinged one, that she was the one like you. but they were wrong, i am.” josie had been taking a back seat in her own life for as long as she could remember. as soon as lizzie had started acting out, it was up to josie to be the nice one...the quiet one...the perfect one. she had to be ready to drop anything and everything for her sister at a moments notice. the little siphon witch had been happy to do so in the beginning. but as time went on...she grew resentful.

“hope?” she was honestly surprised to see her friend, “what are you doing here?” a part of josie was worried that hope would scold her, reprimand her for using dark magic. for giving into a temptation that had been there her whole life. she had been caught in a viscous cycle of locking away her magic and then letting it back into the second someone needed her help. the siphon witch had had enough. the people in their life had to get love every bit of them or get lost.
