What ab somewhere right after the ssk-retrieval mission, Gaara and Lee walked together and encountered Sakura, Lee fluttered and stuttered, Gaara asked why he acted like that, and Lee said he acted like that because he likes her
Gaara’s train of thought was like ‘Lee likes Sakura’ => ‘Sakura has reddish pink hair and green eyes’ => ‘I heard appearance was one of the important things for something like that’ => ‘So Lee likes reddish pink hair and green eyes’ => ‘I have red hair and green eyes’, became curious if Lee thought reddish pink and red similar, so asked Lee “Then what about me?” (without any romantic feelings or something he was just curious)
Lee “Wh—W—Wha—Whatt??” then collapsed.
