TRSB25 #142 Title: When the young lords of Hador were long thought dead and they just show up one day jumping out of a eagle uber and wearing radiant elven clothes.

So I think a small introduction is in order. This is my art blog where I mostly post my Tolkien work. I love Pina-coladas and long walks in the rain, also I regrettably have a sporadic posting schedule because life is just like that sometimes.

So another thanks to just my followers in general who still decide to stick with me despite the long gaps in-between posting. X3

Monster Slayers Part III - Finrod

Have some thumbnail doodles of the Monster Slayers Series! I wanted to show these for a while. It's funny that when I had this idea I intended it to be uplifting and victorious collection of drawings, but when I started planning it out it dawned on me pretty quickly that most of them are uhhhh, pretty tragic, if not bitter sweet.

I don't know why I was surprised since it tracks so well with Tolkien.

Turin and Glaurung Fun fact: I intend to finish all the boarders one day. Turin's will have his typical icons of the bow and helm, and Gurthang on the sides. Glaurung was going to be green, but decided to only colour the red leaves.

Earendil's fought me the whole way,--because it turns out I don't have a lot of experience drawing animals, let alone monsters. :P The border is going to have ocean waves/ships and silmarils. I want to touch up on the comet about to crash into Ancalagon's throat. It needs to look like it's falling out of the sky faster.

I've been working on Finrod next, and decided to share this since I ended up not using this layout. This thumbnail design did make me wonder if this room was always a dungeon, or if Sauron repurposed it as one, and if you looked hard enough you could see the ornate carvings and murals behind the grime and neglect of the room. Decided on something different. Like Turin, Finrod's drawing might end up being more up-close and personal.

So hey. Sometimes I start a drawing with a character in mind, and other times I have no plan, and they let me know who they are half-way through the process.

I- have no idea who this is. I never got to the end of a drawing with no clue who they are. aaaha? I'm leaning towards Arafinwëan maybe?? Here's generic long-haired elf man I guess???? He's whoever you want him to be???

Your art is exceptional! Loved the Eärendil and Ancalagon moment and Part 1 was also amazing with Túrin.

I'm dying to see your take on a Balrog if you're ever in the mood to tackle more monster slayers.

Finished my first playthrough of Pentiment and I'm losing my mind. I literally took almost half a year break playing the game because the trial was so stressful. 😰

What started out as a silly idea for a fantasy travel/food blog is turning into an unhinged sapphic princess monster that is going to take over my life.

Uuh but I'm putting that on pause right now. I swear as soon as I announced I finally had free time for myself, the show I've been working on for almost 7 years got cancelled.

So long story short we're finishing up the season and frantically learning Unreal on the absolutely snowball-in-hell chance that there will be a new show lined up for us when our contracts end, so we'll be ready for the pipeline the studio has been implementing for the past few years.

Hedging our bets on a big maybe. Just giving a life update I suppose. I swear one day I'll go back to posting art twice a month.
