Art fight has begun! I’m so proud of these two 😭
Lore time
Aqua is a Sandwing/Seawing hybrid who was born in Possibility. Both of her parents were killed during a raid by Burn’s soldiers, leaving her orphaned. Fortunately, a grumpy Sandwing finds her and takes her in, making a new life for them in Sanctuary after the war.
Cereus was a commander in Burn’s army. She led a raid on Possibility and was attacked by a Sandwing and a Seawing. After an exhausting battle, she collapses beside their corpses and is presumed dead by her soldiers. When Cereus awakes, she finds a tiny dragonet in the rubble of a home with sickeningly familiar blue and yellow scales.
I love them a lot and the angst potential is through the roof. Just wanted to share my progress with drawing dragons.

Looking up pictures of birds sleeping on Pinterest was NOT good for my mental health because I can’t have one and it’s genuinely making me want to commit homicide.

Literally no one asked for it, but I drew my oc Maelstrom as an adult because her first ref was when she was a itty bitty baby 🥺. Anyways I love her so much she’s so cool and no one can tell me otherwise 😎. (Maelstrom is a character in my fic My Name Is on Ao3)

Madagascar is such a wild movie in concept like can you imagine taking a vacation with your family to New York to see “Alex the dancing lion” and this mf stands up on his hind legs like some horrible cryptid and starts hitting the gritty

I find it really interesting how much emphasis Good Omens puts on material objects. Crowley and Aziraphale have existed since the beginning of time, watched as age and era drowned in blood and conflict or progressed peacefully into a new time. Loved and lost people, mourned and rejoiced them, been hated and loved by them. Not to mention trends of the time changed as quick as they could create miracles. The latest, most popular, fashion, the newest, exotic food, who’s being executed for what inane reason. Their existence is literally surrounded by the impermanence of life and death, but what are some of the things they love most? Old, outdated, and quite possibly obsolete (sorry, Bentley) items. The very first scene with Aziraphale highlights this when he’s eating sushi and savouring it. He loves sushi from London even though he could absolutely miracle himself some authentic sushi from Japan. Gabriel, a fellow “angel”, judges him for it but Aziraphale defends his choice. He loves old records and it pains him deeply to part with one of his books, he wears tartan bows, old fashioned blazers and has a pocket watch that he doesn’t use. But let’s not forget about Crowley. Oh no definitely couldn’t forget about him. Crowley’s prized possession (besides his angel) is an old 1926/33 Bentley. The number of miracles he’s used on that thing is second only to his favours for Aziraphale. He’s a fashionista and owns the most verdant plants in all of London. This is in direct opposition to either of their respective “teams”. The angels barely notice the passage of time, and the demons’s perception of it is only the countdown to the day they will be free. Crowley and Aziraphale are some of the most sentimental characters you’ve ever seen. Compare that to human characters who more often than not are closer to the angels and demons in terms of sentimentality. On the other hand it makes a lot of sense. Crowley and Aziraphale have been witness to the ebb and flow of the ages like no humans ever have. The items they hold dear to them are a comfort just as much as a reminder that the past is gone but it was also good. People often only live to see one age in their lifetimes and can’t or don’t understand the constant flow of time. It’s great story telling about the characters as a whole. That’s not to say characters who are not sentimental are bad, though. Not being sentimental can be just as useful a tool as being sappy idiots like Aziraphale and Crowley.
Anyways the TLDR here is that Crowley and Aziraphale are very attached to material items despite seeing all ages come and go and it’s very good story telling.
