Medical Marijuana and Cancer: How does it work, what's the dosage?
Medical Marijuana has been a hot topic in the media lately. The FDA recently approved the first marijuana-derived drug, Epidiolex, for treating Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome and Dravet syndrome. Cancer patients have long used cannabis to treat symptoms of chemotherapy like nausea and vomiting.  But what is medical marijuana? How does it work? What's the dosage? This article will explore these questions and more as we dive into this controversial subject!
First off, let’s talk about the importance of medical marijuana card Mountvernon and how marijuana works on our bodies:  In general terms, THC binds with cannabinoid receptors located primarily in nerve cells within your body called neurons; there are less than 100  neurons in your brain that contain these receptors. That’s why only a tiny amount of marijuana is needed to produce effects, and it doesn't take much for the drug to accumulate within one's system.
Here are some other things you may not know about medical Marijuana: The THC component interacts with cannabinoid receptor cells located all over the body - including areas such as our skin, lungs, kidneys and liver. Cannabinoid Receptors are activated by endocannabinoid pain (our natural transmitters) which inhibit nerve impulses; this leads to decreased sensation while also influencing mood changes like euphoria or anxiety disorders. Medical treatments using cannabis can be used for both mental health concerns and physical complaints alike! There has been research done to show that cannabis interacts with the endocannabinoid system in ways that are anti-inflammatory, which can help to combat pain and reduce inflammation. It's important to note that not all research has been done on humans - most of it is conducted on animals or cultured cells.
Medical Marijuana and Cancer
Medical marijuana is a plant-derived compound from Cannabis sativa (hemp) grown for medicinal purposes. The use of medical marijuana card Mountvernon has become an increasingly popular topic as more states have legalized its usage both recreationally and medically; however, there still remain many misconceptions about how this drug works, especially when it comes to cancer treatments.
There is not a ton of research on how medical marijuana affects cancer and tumour growth, which was noted by Dr David Chang in his article "Medical Marijuana: What We Know". But there are some studies that suggest that it can stop or slow down tumour progression as well as reduce pain and inflammation. In one study conducted at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, nine out ten patients showed reductions in both their anxiety levels and nausea when they were given cannabis treatments for these symptoms
What does 420 evaluation for medical marijuana mean?
The term "420" is an informal name for the use of marijuana, which has now been legalized in Colorado and 16 other states. The actual number 420 comes from a group of teenagers from San Rafael California whose code phrase was "4-20." Some locals believed that they were referring to their meeting time. Later the police learned that it had been used as code for cannabis smoking in general, and by extension, their gathering time.
Your first step toward uncovering a diagnosis can be found. By answering a few simple questions, you can get recommendations for a 420 evaluation and/or medical marijuana card Mountvernon . Few questions about symptoms such as chronic pain, insomnia or lack thereof, decreased appetite and even depression are generally asked. If you meet the requirements for one or more debilitating conditions, you’ll get access to licensed 420 evaluations and/or medical marijuana identification documents (in states where available).
Medical marijuana evaluations do not provide prescriptions for cannabis, there is legal and political pressure not to make the recommendation of prescription due to federal and state laws prohibiting it. More importantly, prescribing responsibly requires more information about your health history than a relatively brief (30 minutes) initial consultation allows.

Medical Marijuana Heals Women With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
PCOS women are at increased risk of developing osteoporosis and fractures during menopause. A study shows that women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) develop low bone density and have an increased risk of fracture prior to the onset of menopause . This is important because many health care providers may not screen women with PCOS for low bone density or consider them at high risk for fractures. These findings suggest that physicians should consider screening for low bone mineral content in post-menopausal women with a history of  PCOS.
Studies have determined how marijuana helps regulate hormonal balance , meaning it could potentially help control irregular menstrual cycles, PMS symptoms and other common symptoms associated with PCOS . Women who suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome are often prescribed synthetic hormones as a form of treatment; however, research has revealed that using medical marijuana card Mountvernon could potentially or even more effectively alleviate the symptoms associated with PCOS.
Research has also shown that CBD alters the expression of certain genes involved in ovulation. Further research is recommended to establish whether or not CBD alone can positively affect fertility for those who suffer from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
How Marijuana Helps Treat Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
Medical marijuana card Mountvernon can be used in many ways to treat symptoms of PCOS. Inflammation is one major cause of the disease so by using medical cannabis products that reduce inflammation such as CBD oils with THC or CBD isolates , it could help reduce some PCOS signs because inflammation  is one of the main causes of PCOS.
The endocannabinoid system is a part of our natural physiology and helps regulate hormones so if you use medical marijuana products such as CBD oils with THC or CBD isolates that act on the cannabinoid receptors in our bodies, this would help regulate neurotransmitters and their actions.  Medical cannabis can help women suffering from PCOS symptoms including anxiety, depression, pain and nausea. The cannabinoids found in marijuana work by directly interacting with your cannabinoid receptors to provide relief for some symptoms caused by inflammation but also to lessen feelings of stress which improve moods.
Studies Show Medical Marijuana Can Improve Infertility Related to PCOS
A recent systematic review of existing medical studies published in The Journal of Endocrinology & Metabolism found that using cannabis can significantly reduce risk of weight gain and lower blood sugar levels for patients suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome.
The review, which looked at 69 different peer-reviewed studies on marijuana's effects in women who suffer from PCOS over a period spanning 29 years (1980 to 2009), also concluded that cannabis reduces the symptoms of mood disorders associated with the hormonal imbalance.
A separate study conducted in August 2015 by researchers at the University of Sydney confirmed these findings. The study showed that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), one of the main active components in marijuana, lessens production of male sex hormones testosterone, and dihydrotestosterone (DHT)  in women with PCOS.
Studies also show that regular use of marijuana stimulates ovulation, making it a good choice for women who are trying to get pregnant and have been struggling to conceive because their bodies do not produce the necessary hormones for ovulation on their own.
