I’m so sad to hear that Ikemen Vampire won’t be getting any new content after they release Galileo’s route.

I hope that means Cybird will still maintain Ikemen Vampire.

It still hurts though. I know I have started posting about Ikemen Villains more, but the whole reason I even made a Tumblr account was to interact more with the Ikemen Vampire fandom.

No matter what, anime vampire William Shakespeare will always live on in my heart. Just super sad that he no longer has even a chance at getting a sequel ;-;

I've been wanting to write a post about Ikevamp discontinuing updates for a while now, so what better time to do it than on the final day of the final collection event (which pains me to say).

This game just means so much to me, I've been playing it since it first released when I first started in university and I didn't have anyone to talk to or share my interests with. This new world and characters became a little escape for me.

Logically I understand if a company is losing money on a product then they'll discontinue it but that doesn't make this any less painful. Especially, if you're favourite character might not be as popular and is less likely to receive a sequel route. Story events were a way of getting additional content and development with them. For example, reading through recent story events featuring Isaac, I could see he was a lot more confident in comparison to his main route and earlier story events.

Personally, this announcement felt like a kick in the teeth in several ways: firstly I was going through my friends list getting rid of players that hadn't logged in for over a year to make room for befriending more active players. I restarted Leonardo's route, I started it when I first played but couldn't get into it so I switched to Mozart, but I enjoyed reading Leonardo's route this time round. But I was reading it in preparation for his sequel route being released in the future...

This was in the same month Netflix announced they weren't releasing Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku worldwide until September. Honestly, July was not a good month for the pieces of media I enjoy.

However, I didn't like the way Cybird went about this. Firstly, it had barely been a month since Drake's route was released and then they made this announcement alongside abruptly releasing Gallileo's route it spoiled the excitement and build-up for when character routes are released because it was marred by the fact that it was the "final" global route release and it was so soon after Drake.

Then after announcing, there'll be no new content the following events were both re-runs of old events. The fact that they chose to re-run the Dearly Departed AU event felt like they were rubbing salt into the wound. Although, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they were probably devoting this time to translating Galileo's route.

Looking through the archive, a lot of the content is voiced story sets or birthday stories which are expensive costing thousands of diamonds so not all players will be able to fully utilise the archive unless they purchase diamonds (which means they'll still be getting a small revenue).

At the end of the day, I'm just sad and frustrated because I love this game so much and looking at posts from the Japanese Twitter there were so many events I was looking forward to playing in English. Nevertheless, I'll still be playing Ikevamp, because there are lots of routes I still haven't read (I mostly re-read routes to save up diamonds). Although, in this last event I managed to collect 500 ballots which is the best I've ever done in a collection event (it only took until the end) but not enough to get Isaac...

I accepted a long time ago that I was never going to get Arthur or Napoleon in collection events but lately Isaac had started to fall out of reach...

At least I managed to get Mozart, Theo and Vincent. I'm crossing my fingers for some miracle, that updates get reinstated in the future but looking at Ikerev. It's looking unlikely...

Anyways, thank you to anyone who took the time to read my rambling. I feel like I needed to vent my feelings on the matter because I didn't have anyone to talk to about this and I do feel a lot better for this.

Guys and girls, I'm really scared now.

I'm afraid Cybird will pull the plug soon on the English server of Ikesen.

I think they're about to announce Mitsuhide's sequel.

Kenshin's sequel has been released only one month ago. Why another route/sequel so soon? It's just like with Ikemen Vampire. They released Drake route in May (or April?), and then Galileo in July. In the Japanese server, Mitsuhide's sequel was released on December!

If we were to get Ikesen Eien, it wouldn't be so soon.

We didn't even get Kennyo Eternal route.

Of course, Cybird has not made any announcement regarding the future of Ikesen or the release of Mitsuhide's sequel yet. Though, with what is happening with Ikevamp, it's hard to not assume the worst.

I'm about to cry.
