he sucks in a breath as he tucks his hands deeper into the pockets of his jacket and while he does that he pulls the jacket in tighter around himself to keep himself warm. haneul doesn’t mind the silence. he’s not the type to be chatty around strangers, although today seems to be an exception. humming he nods, “it’s not a great day to go out walking. it’s too bad you didn’t get to spend your free hour doing something better.” 

and to that, mark’s not sure what to say. his free time, when he’s granted it, usually consists of sleeping, playing video games, or watching movies. walking around like this in public is somewhat of a rarity, especially by himself, so it’s not something he necessarily considers bad or a waste of his spare hour.  ❛ what would you do? ❜ he asks out of curiosity, glancing at the older male once more.

“Uuuuh… I think so?” Her tone was uncertain as she moves away from the insect before following behind the male once their bodies were turned in the opposite direction from the wasp. “Oh I needed a few groceries for tonights dinner… Unfortunately we’re out of homemade kimchi so I have to buy some from the store until we make some more.”

mark isn’t sure what he expected as an answer, but it wasn’t that. it’s not to say he had expectations placed upon their reaction, but he hoped for at least a little bit of enthusiasm. a tiny bit, maybe. ❛ what do you like to do, then? ❜ and it’s a question brought out of genuine curiosity rather than it being some sort of snarky remark, obvious with the way he gives the other male a questioning look.

he's surprised. not at the box of objects he noticed her carrying when he coincidentally crossed paths with her, but he’s surprised because he crossed paths with her at all, and in a place like this ramyeon shop. he had originally come here just to grab a quick bite to eat before returning to his hectic schedules, but now he’s found himself momentarily forgetting the main goal of food in favor of spending some time exchanging words with her. it’s not often that he’d get to otherwise.

and of course, he pointed out the box. it looks heavy for her to carry - at least in his opinion - and he wondered why she was bringing it all the way here. not only that, but he wondered what was in it. mark is a lot like a cat sometimes, something he’s admitted in the past, and as such he’s curious about everything even if he shouldn’t be. but with her explanation to his questions, he thinks of an idea.

❛ what if you keep everything but store it somewhere else? so it’s not in the way. if it’s all sentimental things you don’t really want to throw away, ❜ he suggests, glancing between the box and her.

Gwiboon scrunched her nose a little as she then gathered the ingredients for the cocktail into the shaker, minus the ice but including the egg whites. After shaking for the necessary amount of time, she poured the drink into a glass and added the ice, the foam thick and creamy on top. “There! Doesn’t it look nice?” She admired her own creation, obviously very proud of it, “I made this one non-alcoholic, do you want to give it a try?”

he watches as she mixes the drink, and this time he’s twice as impressed by seeing her explanation brought to life than he was by simply hearing her words as she told him about it. ❛ yeah, ❜ he says with a nod once she’s finished, an honest answer to both of her questions as he leans forward against the counter.  ❛ it looks good. ❜

Seeing the rather large insect before them, her eyes widened at the sight of it. If that was a wasp then it must of been a wasp on steroids, but the were rumors that the insects were getting bigger and more intimidating each year. Stepping back with the male, she nods her head, “yeah lets just go the other way… We don’t need to visit that convenience store anyway… There are loads to choose from.”

❛ isn’t there one down the next street? ❜ he asks as he continues taking steps backwards until he deems it safe to turn around and walk more properly, throwing a glance at her to check if she’s still following.  ❛ what do you need from the store, again? ❜
