Mermaid wedding dress
A mermaid wedding dress is a fitted gown that hugs the curves of the body from the bustline to the mid-thigh, where it flares out dramatically into a long, flowing train. This silhouette is flattering for many body types, but it is especially flattering for brides with an hourglass figure.
Mermaid wedding dresses are often made from luxurious fabrics such as silk, satin, and lace. They can be adorned with intricate beading, embroidery, and appliquƩs. The neckline can be anything from a strapless sweetheart neckline to a high-necked illusion neckline. The sleeves can be long, short, or even off-the-shoulder.
Mermaid wedding dresses are a popular choice for brides who want to feel glamorous and sophisticated on their wedding day. They are also a great choice for brides who want to show off their curves.

Best male characters in shoujo & josei manga - in my opinion, ofc
!!! Might contain spoilers about Love so Life, Faster than a Kiss, Last Game, Love Phantom, Special A, ReRe Hello, Kainushi wa Akuma, Sabaku no Harem, Max Lovely and Kimi ni Todoke.Ā
So, my criteria for this was:
1. is he toxic?
2. can he communicate properly with the female lead?
3. could I stand to talk with him for more than an hour?
Thatās basically it. I used to love a bunch of male characters without realizing how douchey they actually were. Do I still love them? Yeah, but mostly because of nostalgia, I donāt actually consider them good men.Ā
Iām not saying the men in this list are perfect, cause cāmon we all know how manga characters - and people - are, but I think these are pretty great.Ā Ā
Without further ado, hereās my - non ranked - fave MLs:
1. Matsunaga Seiji, Love so Life.Ā
This man is adorable, the best thing ever, I want him to myself. We donāt actually see a lot of romance in Love so Life, HOWEVER, Seiji is a responsible, caring, sweet guy. Once he gets his shit together he talks openly with the female lead about how he feels and how - because of their age difference - heās willing to wait for her and that she doesnāt have to answer him right then and there or feel guilty if she doesnāt want to be with him in the future.Ā
Honestly, I really love him. Heās not a creepy older guy preying on a young girl, he respects her age and wants her to live her youth before settling down. Does he rely a bit too much on a 16yo? Yes, but I overlook it ācause I love him.
2. Ojiro Kazuma, Faster than a Kiss.Ā
Again, not a teacher/older man preying on a young girl. Heās her teacher and their relationship starts out with him wanting to protect/help his student out. If Iām not mistaken, he doesnāt even kiss her until she graduates, HOWEVER, he does make her wear sexy costumes, which is problematic.Ā
Overall, heās sweet, helps her a lot, really loves her and wants to protect her (and her cute litlle brother).Ā
3. Yanagi Naoto, Last Game.
Yanagi starts out as a douchey rich kid who thinks heās superior to everyone else until heās beaten by the female lead and wants to defeat her.Ā Overtime, he realizes heās actually in love with her. Heās shy when it comes to her, and very patient.Ā
Did he follow her to middle school, high school and college? Yes. Would I find that creepy in real life? Absolutely. Can I excuse it because itās a shoujo manga? Yes again.Ā
I think heās a solid male lead for a shoujo manga, and I personally like him, but I definitely see issues with his behavior.Ā
4. Hase Kei, Love Phantom.
I want him. Heās older than the FL, so he often teases her, but I find it pretty adorable, especially when heās the one feeling shy. Excluding chapter 01, I canāt remember any obvious flaws in his behavior. To sum up, I love him.Ā
5. Takishima Kei, Special A.Ā
Here is an OG male lead that I wouldnāt punch or kick.
Kei is handsome, rich, super smart and he doesnāt give a fuck about anything except the FL. Sheās extremely competitive and he always goes along with her whims. Heās protective of her and a tad possessive, but it doesnāt really bother me. Heās pretty solid.Ā
6. Suou Minato, ReRe Hello.
Minato has his flaws as a person, but as a man/boyfriend, I really love him. I feel like he really cherishes the FL and usually respects her independence. If you havenāt read this manga, I definitely recommend you do!
7. Albrecht Ebel, Kainushi wa Akuma.
Heās super hot and sassy, I love it. Does he sort of sexually harass the FL? Yes, frequently. Does it bother me? Not really, to be honest. And I absolutely despise when male characters are forceful or rapey. I donāt know how to explain it, but at the same time that he teases her, heās extremely sweet. I know this intro sounds bad, but I want to be upfront about it. Major spoilers ahead: in one of the final chapters, heās feeling possessive and tries to have sex with her (she didnāt contest it), and when he comes to, sheās trembling and he stops, apologizes, says that thereās no meaning to it if she doesnāt want to and stays distant from her until she approaches him after realizing they love each other.
He is super sweet and she does love him, of course (itās still a shoujo manga after all). I think everyone should give it a read (and you can delve into the wonderful world of flirting that is Kaji Eiriās mangas).Ā
(Real quick, part of the reason I love her work so much is that the main couple flirts consistently throughout the manga, and one thing that bothers me a lot in shoujo manga is when the protagonists only get together in the last chapter.)
8. Sahara Taki, Max Lovely.Ā
Honestly, I just really love their relationship. This is a 20 year old manga but itās really solid. Iāve re-read this a bunch of times and I absolutely love it. Itās not romance exclusively, thereās a pretty dark background story, but I really enjoy it. And Taki is a pretty baby, super sweet with the FL and usually very honesy with her.
9. Prince Kallum, Sabaku no Harem.
Would I be one of many wifes to a handsome and rich prince? No. Do I treat manga as reality? God, no.Ā
Heās very amusing, loves to tease the FL and is pretty sweet. I really enjoyed reading this, I think itās a solid shoujo with a great male lead, and should definitely be on your list if you havenāt read it yet.Ā
10. Kazehaya Shouta, Kimi ni Todoke.
Is he my favorite male character? No. To be perfectly honest, heās not even on my top 10. But is he a good man/boyfriend? Yes, and thatās why heās on this list.
Like I said in the beginning of the post, there are toxic male characters that I still love despite them being shitty.Ā
Kazehaya is a popular type but heās super nice and charismatic. He treats the FL which is usually dismissed by everyone with a lot of respect and care. I think heās a bit too shy and indirect, which can sometimes jeopardize his relationship with her, but other than that, heās a great guy.Ā
BONUS 01: not actually a boyfriend but I love him
Tsuruga Ren, Skip Beat.Ā
Now, is Ren perfect? No, he has a lot of flaws. A LOT. But I absolutely love him and I think heās maturing.Ā
BONUS 02: I donāt personally love this type of character for myself, but I really like himĀ
Suoh Tamaki, Ouran High School Host Club.Ā
Like I said, heās not my type, but I think heās pretty cute and adorable and totally deserves to be on the list, so I made this spot just for him.Ā
BONUS 03: douchey guys I was blindly in love with as a teenager
1. Usui Takumi, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama.Ā
Do I hate Usui? No, not at all. I actually really like him.Ā
But heās possessive, secretive, dismissive and forceful.
2. Irie Naoki, Itazura na Kiss.Ā
Naoki has always been - in my opinion - a dick. He pissed me of quite a bit even back then. But, since I always make sure to wear my shoujo anime/manga glasses to ignore problematic behavior when Iām reading manga, I donāt hate him.
! Please donāt get me wrong, even with my shoujo anime/manga glasses there are certain things that I canāt ignore and that really drive me crazy (ex. rape, racism, fat shaming, etc)Ā
Itās simply that I can understand that thereās a huge gap between manga and reality, and as long as I can recognize the problematic behaviors, I feel like I can enjoy them and respect the poetic license behind it.Ā
Ok, thatās it, sorry for the long-ass post.Ā

10 dramas that make me cry at night because they are over:
Because Iām in a drama mood right now, I figured I would make a drama post!
As a note, all the dramas listed are dramas that I watched weekly. I found that I tend to get more emotionally attached to dramas I watch weekly because I will spend about 3-4 months anticipating that drama every week. While with dramas that I marathon, I love the dramas and I am sad when they are over, but I donāt have the same feeling of emptiness that weekly dramas cause me (wellā¦.with the exception of The King 2 Hearts that took around 2 weeks for me to get over that I finished it.)
These are not in any particular order
1. City Hunter - I marathoned the first 12 episodes, but after that it was hell waiting ever week for my most favorite drama ever. I spent the entire last episode crying. Iām not even sure if I was crying over the content or over that fact it was ending. Especially with the cut short ending it had, it left me craving more and I need to go through shock therapy to get over it. (wellā¦.more that I just watch it a lot even now xD)
2. Skip Beat: Extravagant Challenge - Already talked about this today. I had been waiting for Skip Beat for 2-3 years before it actually aired because I heard of it with the original actors they were going to use, but then it never happened. Finally it DID air, and not only that, but with Suju actors and Ivy Chen! Every Sunday night, Skip Beat was my life. Then I spent the rest of Sunday night and Monday spamming it on Tumblr. It was a fun dramaĀ that I do not regret watching. (plus it had an Arashi poster in the background :D)
3. Faith - The drama I am STILL trying to get over. Whenever I see pictures of Choi Young, my withdrawals of Faith come right back. I honestly didnāt think this was going to be a drama I would like since I am generally not a fan of historical dramas (even though I love history quite a bit). Especially because, in my opinion, it started a bit slow, I was saying to myself, āIām just watching this for Min Ho.ā But boy, for the later episodes, it wasnāt about LMH at all! (wellā¦.maybe still a little bit) But the story, the OTPs and all the wonderful characters (and their development!) completely made this drama for me.
4. Hana Kimi - My first drama ever and I actually watched it weekly because it was only half way through when I started watching it. It was really fun to wait weekly for this drama and see when it was released. It was a good entry drugā¦ermā¦.I mean entry drama.
5. Deka Wanko - This is a drama I donāt hear too many people talk about, but I REALLY enjoyed it. Maybe itās because I love mystery dramas, but I found myself beginning it for Tegoshi Yuya and continued watching it for Tabe Mikako. She was so adorable in all her clothes and the whole show took a hilarious spin on mystery.
6. Voice - This was probably my favorite show until City Hunter, and could possibly still be my favorite Jdrama. Itās a mix between medical, mystery and romance. Only this show could have me laughing through the first half of the show and then have me bawling my eyes out the second half.
7. Rich Man, Poor Woman - ā¦.do I even need to comment on how great this drama was? I felt like finally, after a long time (like since Hana Yori Dango), there was another great romantic Jdrama. Not only was it romantic, but it address real life issues when building a company.
8. Rooftop Prince - I anxiously waited for this show EVERY WEEK!! It was hilarious and annoying at the same time! It started off with almost pure comedy and then in the later episodes had horrible cliff hangers that would put me in pain all week waiting for the next episode. Anybody else remember my angry rants after every episode?
9. Nice Guy - If any drama could take mental damage on me, this would be the drama. I marathoned the first 8 episodes and it left me in a complete depressed state. I wasnāt sure if I should even continue! But something about this drama was like a drug. I had to keep coming back for more. I had never watched such a depressing drama in my life! But yet, it had funny moments and great charactersā¦..that you wanted to kill. What made me like this drama? Probably because it just sucked everything out of me! It was a type of drama I hadnāt tried before and it definitely didnāt leave me disappointed. Not to mention it started my incurable love for Joong Ki.
10. Smile - Ah man, I remember coming back from Japanese class and instantly going to watch this. I obviously started it because of MatsuJun, but it is the heartstrings-pulling story and cute Hana-chan that just added so much more to this story. I felt like the romance in this drama was a lot more realistic in that Hana showed that she like Vito in small, cute ways. Nothing was over-the-top-boy-sweeps-the-girl-off-her-feet. It was the small things that made the two love each other. But there is also more to life than just love. Each character in this drama was wonderful and the whole thing made me very frustrated with the prejudice justice system. Yet, the drama had such a great theme to it: āSmile.ā What more do you need during hard times? I actually rewatched this drama last semester because I still love it so much.
ā
So yeah, that is my list for now! Obviously there are A LOT more dramas that kill me when they finish, but these are the ones I watched weekly that killed me and I would highly recommend them all :)
