What's your opinion on using AI to roleplay or having AI write a self indulgent fic with a celebrity? I've been told it's wrong and I need to stop but it's almost helping me mentally? Like it's comforting to me, especially "living" out these fantasies, I guess... Idk, I feel weird now but I feel like it's not hurting anyone so what's the harm? (I understand it's all fictional and I'd never bring it up to said celebrity if I ever met them)

Not sure if I have an elaborate opinion on the usage of AI for your own pleasure/entertainment.

What I find problematic is the use of AI in an academic context - for Bachelor's/Master's theses, dissertations, research and the like. AI is not refined enough for this and often simply does not provide the correct information. I also think it's dishonest to use it for such things, as in an academic context you should present your own achievements, which you have researched and developed yourself.

As far as fanfiction is concerned, I think you can first check whether there are already existing works by authors that strike a chord/satisfy your own desires. If that's not the case, you can try character.ai or something like that - it's up to you what you do in your free time, and it's not really anyone's business how you bring your fantasies to life. As long as it feels good, brings you joy and doesn't actively harm anyone, I don't really care how others fulfill their longings 🤷🏻‍♀️ And as long as you don't post the ai-generated stuff as fanfiction, but just read it with your own two eyes, I think that's fine.

What do you think about the fact that Ghost fans write their own stories and fanfiction about Ghost and all the characters basically live their own lives?

It’s absolutely fantastic! Back when Ghost existed only in my head and no one had a clue about it except for my one friend, I didn’t in my wildest dreams envision that someone would one day want to contribute to the story or outright make up another story of their own. And I’ve been consistently amazed by this fact for the past twelve years - what an impact Ghost has had on so many people that it inspires them to create their own art. As an artist, I couldn’t be more honored. This is exactly what I believe the true purpose of art is. It should be inspiring first and foremost. It should function as a positive affirmation of life. Even though I often talk about depressing, unfunny topics in my songs, my purpose is to make people happy. To give them a sense of hope that we’re all in this together.
