The Complete After Care Guide for Dazzling Lashes!
1. The 24 Hour No Water Rule
Your eyelash extensions can’t get wet for 24 hours after application. After those 24 hours are up you can shower, soak, swim, and go crazy with water all you want. But those first 24 hours are a water-free zone! Plan ahead for this.
2. High-Heat is a No-No
When applied correctly, your lash extensions are sturdy and resilient, but high heat can take even the best-applied lashes down. Don’t point your blow dryer in the direction of your lashes. The heat will straighten out and distort them. Likewise, avoid exposing your lashes to high-heat cooking. In other words, don’t stand in front of that pot of boiling water! Relaxing in the sun by the pool or beach? No problem, of course!
4. Use Oil Free Makeup and Removers and Specialty Mascara
The oils in many makeup and remover products are the worst enemy of your lashes. The oil breaks down the adhesive causing premature lash loss. Use only OIL FREE products.
You can use mascara on your lash extensions for a more dramatic look, but use sparingly, and only occasionally. If you choose to apply mascara, similarly, use an “extension safe” mascara option.
5. Seal the Deal with a Protective Coating Sealant
Coating sealants are thinner than mascara, and when you apply a light coat over your extensions, they help to seal and protect lashes from dust and chlorine. I suggest using a coating sealant on your lash extensions once a week. We recommend Black Diamond.
Black Diamond Coating- This black-tinted coating increases bonding strength, extending the life of the lashes, and leaving a lovely, glossy finish.
6. Handle with Care
Yes they are new and fun, but your extensions are not a toy! Your natural lashes have their own cycle and shed naturally, so avoid rough handling such as rubbing and pulling which can remove your natural lashes and the extensions. Never be tempted to pick or remove extensions yourself. Always consult your technician for help.
You can even help out your lash longevity when you sleep. By sleeping on your back or side, you can minimize the pressure on your lashes.
7. Satin Pillowcase
Using a satin pillowcase can help you maintain your lashes. Not only do satin pillow cases look and feel luxurious, the silky smooth fabric reduces friction which in turn helps keep your lashes in place (studies have shown that sleeping on a satin pillowcase can help eliminate hair loss and breakage). So avoid cotton pillowcases and treat yourself to satin, which gives the added benefit of a “cool touch,” perfect for those warm summer nights!
8. Ditch the Crimp Curler
Do not use standard crimp lash curlers. Simple! If you want a curled look, be sure to ask your eyelash artist who can suggest curled lash options to suit you. Don’t crimp your extensions, ever.
If you need ongoing curling, in place of a traditional curler, try using a heater brush curler designed specifically for use with extensions. The heated curler uses just the right amount of heat so as to not damage lashes, so it can be used safely to keep your lashes curled and separated.
9. Schedule a Fill
To keep lashes gorgeous, follow your natural eyelash growth cycle and keep up with a fill every two to three weeks. Yes, eyelash extensions do require maintenance, so please be prepared for the upkeep. This is a super important part of your after care regime.

My first Micro-needling experience
Yesterday I had a chance to be a patient in my own clinic and experience the much talked about new treatment we are offering, Micro needling. My recommendation...Just do it! Whatever your age, this is the most natural way to get a gradual face lift effect! I will start to see results from this treatment in as little as one week and optimal results in six weeks. I am planning to have this treatment done once every 6 weeks for a total of 4 treatments as suggested by the company. They recommend a series of 1 treatment for every decade old you are. I will keep you posted with a photo after each treatment! So far, this treatment feels like I am resetting the clock. I woke up this morning with my skin slightly pink and feeling a little tender but I applied my BB cream as normal and I am good to go!! The Eclipse Micropen or micro needling is a Collagen Induction Therapy for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and overall improvement of skins texture, tone and color. This was my first experience at what everyone is raving about. Micro-needling is marvelous. It is similar to what you do when you aerate your yard and add fertilizer. Basically, our Aesthetician uses tiny needles to make tiny little holes in the skin (not to worry, they are microscopic) while applying Hyalauronic acid to produce collagen and elastin resulting in smoother and tighter skin.
Great plan with minimal downtime! I do have to be honest, I was a bit nervous to try it. I had a topical anesthetic applied to numb my face and it was very effective but I still felt the pen rolling across my face. I was quite red after my treatment and for most of the day, so make sure you don't have dinner plans that day— just go home and watch a movie... but look at the way I look this morning!! I had a 9 am appointment today and woke up with minimal swelling and was able to put on makeup as usual and felt fine to leave the house this morning. You can literally do this on a Wednesday after work and be at your office on time the next day with no one the wiser.
It is all done in a 45 minute appointment with minimal discomfort. I'm a busy hockey mom and business owner so that is my kind of time frame. I can't wait to have my neck and chest treatment next! Unlike fillers, Botox and chemical peels this treatment is 100% natural with our own bodies repairing our skin to make it stronger. That is my kind of anti-aging treatment!

Lisa's Fall Checklist
When September comes it always feels like time for a change to me. Here are a few things I will be changing up this fall!
Add a new makeup piece: My very own back to school fun lets say! Try a dewey new BB Cream to protect your skin or a fun, bright lipstick color. Nude lips will always rock but change it up with new Dragon Fruit by Youngblood
Hydrate and exfoliate: I want my skin to be soft and healthy for December, so November is the time for my 21 day Gommage Cure by Yonka. It is amazing how your skin looks after day 6 let alone day 21! Ask us how you can do this at home.
Change up workout routine:
Wake up different muscles and do more outdoor activities like walking, hiking and some sprinting. It increases circulation and makes my skin glow. Its all about the face!
Don’t forget your body and skin: I will be having a series of body treatments. 6 Endermologie and Mudwrap treatments. One set per week to detox my system, increase my circulation and make my overall skin look toned and firm for the holidays...and an added bonus, less cellulite!
Increase water intake:
This fall I will make sure to increase my water intake and decrease the red wine when out to dinner with friends. Well, you know...within reason :)
Look younger: It is time for a brow update. Tinted and fuller brows mixed with a bright lip and soft eye make up is an easy new look. Fact: Fuller, darker brows make a face look younger!
Update wardrobe: We may not be able to replace our entire wardrobe every season but add a new scarf and a cool pair of boots for a fresh fall look. Scarves and ponchos are huge this season! I will be wearing my knit poncho with my cowboy boots!
This I know...We are all getting older and set in our ways. Don’t get stuck in a rut! Be Happy. Smile. Reinvent yourself or make a small change. Either way it creates sparks and sparks fly!!
Welcome to fall, Mudwraps Clients! Don’t wait for January to change things up!
