Lily was surprised when she felt a shove, feeling herself being separated from Severus as she lost the grip on his hand, almost falling over herself in the process.

Green eyes narrowed like daggers at the source of this. "Potter!" She shouted. "Leave us alone! Why can't you understand that? I don't want to be around you, especially if you keep acting this way."

The Gryffindor girl glanced over to her best friend, checking him over. She continued to go for his hand again, wanting to put as much distance between them and James Potter as soon as possible. She could sense a fight already starting to brew.

"Severus is my best friend and you have no right to treat him this way!"

Hi. Yes. Hello. I'm just heavily thinking about the fact that while James and Lily's Stag and Doe Patronuses COMPLEMENT each other, how beautiful it is that Snape and Lily's Doe Patronuses MATCH each other. I'm also thinking about how the Doe represents Lily and Severus as individuals-- 𝐒𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐔𝐒 -- His hidden guardian is a gentle creature representing intuition, unconditional love, safety, and protection. Doe's are sensitive and reserved creatures. All the animals he could have as a guardian, and he obtains the doe. Someone so externally imposing, dark, bitter, and resentful, could have an inner side represented in such a soft, pure way. I love it. 𝐋𝐈𝐋𝐘 -- It's a symbol of the traits she holds close and the heart she wears openly on her sleeve. Despite just representing intuition, unconditional love, a caring nature and safety, Doe's also represent beauty and grace, which also reflects Lily's strong morals, wanting to always do the right thing and be a guiding light for others and a person of healing. Doe's are also known to be aggressive when they think their young are being threatened.

Lily walked the halls of Hogwarts, on an errand for Madam Pomfrey. It was funny, looking back at her childhood and recalling how she had walked these same halls before with hopes of becoming a healer. Little did she know it would happen, just not in the way she expected it would.

Going past the trophy room, something catches her eye. Green eyes lock onto it, starring at the name engraved on the plaque --- James Potter. She misses him so much! The tears fall instantly from her eyes, her current assignment forgotten briefly in this moment.

However, the sound of footsteps approaching makes her break out of her trance, looking to see her son making his way over. Lily furiously wipes away her tears, trying to hide the fact she had been crying. "Hey there." she sniffles. "Sorry, I just...I miss him. How are you doing? And what are you doing out of class?" Had she lost track of time?

Just some random headcanons about Lily as a person (Marauder's Era -- PART 2)--

Lily would occasionally get picked on by other Slytherin students for being Muggle-born. When one of them called her a "Mudblood" her first year, she was confused about it. So of course she went to go ask her best friend and the one who introduced her to the world of magic about it--- Severus. When he told her what it meant, he helped comfort her about it and reassured her once more that it didn't matter if she was Muggle-born. She took comfort in this.

From then on, she would just give witty and sarcastic remarks back anytime someone called her this. However, it didn't help that it still hurt her to a certain degree, but Lily just tried to ignore it and continue on.

Lily had started to realize at the end of their 4th year that she was developing feelings for Severus that went past them just being best friends. At least it was curious thoughts-- like wondering what would it would be like to kiss him or have their relationship become something more. She did already care about him a great deal and loved him as her closest friend, knowing how brilliant and talented he was and believing he would become one of the greatest wizards of their time, but she wasn't sure if he would feel the same about her or if it would ruin their friendship. The last thing she wanted to do was make it awkward between them ---- (Yes, I am of the belief that Lily would have developed romantic feelings for Severus. However, it was destroyed with what happens next...)

These fears were only ignited more once they started their 5th Year and she noticed how he was starting to hang around with certain Slytherin's (Avery, Mulciber and their gang) who were into the Dark Arts, feeling a divide happening between them as he began spending less time with her. The Marauder's and her other friends didn't help with this, only making Lily believe that maybe Severus didn't want anything to do with her anymore and was going down a dark path.

Between their constant bickering, nothing could have prepared Lily for the day she heard the words "Mudblood" coming from Severus' mouth. It hurt worse than when anyone else did it. It was on the same level as her own sister calling her freak-- no, it was purely horrific. She felt something shattering in her at that moment realizing he had broken his promises and his word and felt all her insecurities being confirmed---that she was nothing, but especially to the person who had been her closet friend and her hope.

When she walked away to leave the boys alone, Lily went to cry her heart out in a secret place. After returning home for the summer, she put on a brave face and realized that while it would be hard to move on without him in her life anymore, this was the best for both of them. While she was angry, hurt, and felt betrayed, she would never forget the impact he made on her life, whether happy or now painful. She only hoped he would find his way out of the darkness someday.

Come the start of their 6th year, Remus had helped Lily with warming up to the rest of the Marauder's, and by the end of that year, she had already come to consider them close friends. However, she would occassionally glance across the way at the Slytherin table or over to where Severus was before reminding herself she shouldn't. That he didn't care about her.

At this point, Lily had started noticing how James was maturing, no longer bugging her for dates and (at least what was presented) not bullying others. He had changed his ways and improved himself, but not only that, Lily had started realizing things about James that she refused to see before: like how handsome he was and the way he would gladly fight for those he loved. And maybe the playful banters were a plus too. So she considered to finally give in and try one date. However, it soon became more, ending up in marriage.

𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 (and how she came to warm up to them...)

𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐮𝐬 𝐋𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐧: He was actually the first one she warmed up to immediately (mostly because unlike the others, Lily never had any problems with Remus to begin with.) He wasn't a bully like James or Sirius. He was sweet, compassionate, and honestly the most rational and level-headed of the four of them. Because of this, Lily found she shared things in common with him and was the only one of the Marauder's she would speak to for awhile from first year to fifth year (before the lake incident), especially since they shared in being Gryffindor Prefects too. After the incident at the lake when Lily ends her friendship with Severus, it was Remus she went to see and who was the first to help welcome her to the table and help her begin to warm up to the others. (and yes, she has a hunch that Remus might be a Werewolf thanks to Severus theory he brought up before their falling apart, but she never mentions it because it doesn't change the fact he is still Remus to her. Even when the truth is eventually brought up, Lily just replies "I figured, but it doesn't change the fact you're still Remus and I'll always be here for you.")

𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫: Things haven't been the best between Lily and James since she met him on day one on the Hogwarts Express. She didn't like how he (and Sirius) mockingly treated Severus and it was something that hadn't changed, even up to their fifth year. To her, despite being admirable for standing up for his friends and against aspiring Death Eaters, James was still nothing more than a "arrogant bullying toerag" because he continued his bad habit of bullying her best friend and hexing innocent students. Lily's breaking point with James was at the end of their fifth year, during the incident at the lake. Not only did it lead to Severus calling her a "Mudblood", but it defineitly made Lily want to forget about boys altogether (at least mostly Severus and James.) While she was hurting and grieving over what happened, Lily was furious and wouldn't even talk to James for awhile, trying to take the time to cool down, even if he wasn't the one to mutter the profanity, she was angry in knowing he was a cause in it. Eventually, thanks to Remus help, but also James finally realizing the error of his ways, Lily started to see a positive change in him and decided to give him a chance, getting to know him and warming up to him as he seemed to stop his bad habit of bullying and hexing others and maturing. The rest between them is history as she takes the last name Potter and eventually has a son with him...he's the love of her life. Is there more that needs saying? "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death."

𝐒𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤: Poor Sirius was in the same boat as his best pal, James, with Lily not getting along with him either since day one on the Hogwarts Express for the same reasons. She even turns her back on him after she is sorted into Gryffindor when he offers her a seat at the table. She doesn't start to warm up to him until the same time she starts to warm up to James during their Sixth year (after she's cooled down from the incident at the lake in their fifth year, and of course with the help of Remus.) Just as Lily gets to know James and see a different side of him, the same happens with Sirius too. She starts to see his undying loyalty to his friends, noting how he's like a loyal dog (little does she know his Animagus form yet...) She feels bad for hearing about his home/family situation and leaving home at Sixteen, but it helps her look up to James more, finding it admirable that he took his friend in. As she gets to know Sirius more, she notices not only how loyal he is, but how he could actually have his moments on maturity and responsiblity, before quickly going back to his old ways. If anything, she knows Sirius will get there someday and be capable of great things. And somehow, in some way, he's become a dear friend to her too, just as Remus is. "Dear Padfoot..."

𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐞���: It's always been complicated for her concerning Peter, but he seems sweet, and if the others trust him, then Lily does too, even if he has a bit of a cowardly, hidden nature. He's "wormy." (Ohhhh, but in my Lily Survives verse, her thoughts on him change completely, and gets very long...she is angry and livid with him for betraying her and James, and for trying to set Sirius up to take the fall, and for bringing harm to Harry. She's constantly stuck between wanting to put him in a rat trap herself or show him mercy and hope there is some good in him...somewhere behind his cowardice ways. Okay, so maybe no words can describe how she feels about Peter. It's mostly just a lot of ANGRY AND LIVID screaming and yelling and blasting her wand at a target board. If he thinks he's afraid of Voldemort, just wait and see Wormy...)

Okay so...I got inspired. Not only have I brought Lily back, but I also brought back my HP OC, specifically my MC/Protagonist from Hogwart's Legacy. You can find Harmony on her own blog --- @ancientmagik. She will also be multi-versed eventually once I finish working on her blog.

Just some random headcanons about Lily as a person (Marauder's Era -- PART 1)--

Lily's mother was big into Floriography (the Language of Flowers) and hence, named her two daughters and children after flowers. It was something Lily developed an interest in too, even when she found out the meaning behind her name (Lily symbolizes Purity and Enduring Love) and her sister's (Petunia = Resentment and Anger.)

Lily was raised on Muggle fairytale's when she was little and secretly continued to believe in them until she was 16. After that, she only believed in the ones that had been proven true in the Wizarding World.

Growing up in the Muggle town of Cokeworth, England in the 60s/70s, Lily was raised in a middle class family and supposedly the better part of Cokeworth (at least according to Petunia.)

Knowing how Severus' home life was (or at least how his father could be), she would often invite him over to her house, much to Petunia's annoyance. Besides spending the summer's together when they were off from Hogwarts, Lily would also invite him over for holidays at times.

She was a bookworm since the age of 8 (and loves the smell of books.)

Potions is her favorite subject at Hogwarts. Not only was she fantastic at it, Slughorn absolutely adored her. She had top marks for seven years, and she never complained about a single lesson.

However, despite her love for Potions, she actually wanted to pursue a career as a Healer. She especially had an interest in Healing Magic because of this. And it wasn't all so bad since she could combine her love of Potions with it to make Healing Potions.

I know it's probably an unpopular opinion of mine...but I believe Lily's original Patronus was always a Doe. It didn't change into one because she eventually fell in love with James (like how Tonks went from a Jackrabbit to a Wolf because of Remus.) If anything, James and Lily's patronuses just ended up complimenting each other perfectly by accident. A Patronus was a spirit guardian that encompassed all your positive thoughts/emotions, and to me a Doe just fits the kind of person Lily is: A Doe symbolizes beauty, grace and a caring nature. They are motherly as well. (I will go into more detail about Doe's another time...)

She ended up in Gryffindor because she's always wanted to be seen as brave and strong with everything she does in life (and because, sometimes, she struggles to be that thanks to her insecurities she keeps locked away and hidden behind a smile.)
