In light of the firing of the head of the US National Archives, I would like to suggest a task for everyone who is concerned by the current state of the US.

I want you to go to the national archives website, and record anything you can, however you can. It doesn't matter if you have the training to deal with digital archival resources, I don't care if all you can do is take a screenshot of a page on your phone, any record of these documents and pieces is better than nothing.

The national archives in particular, holds a number of significant documents and objects that I fear are at risk of being misused, mishandled, and erased entirely.

The purpose of an archive is to preserve and document the past and present for the sake of the future in an unbiased way that represents the people that it serves. The national archives represents and serves our nation as a whole. We cannot allow them to remove and destroy the history that we have worked so hard to create and preserve.

The Nazis burned more than books, they burned history, we cannot allow the same thing to happen here.
