Name: Aerin Comerde
Species: Earthblood elf
Age: the middle-age for an Earthblood
Pronouns: She/her
Birthday: September 27th
Sexuality: Bisexual
Height: 6′1, 6′3 with horns
Looks: I’m just going to have to describe it again with words because I have no artistic talents of my own and there aren’t currently any decent enough picrews to even try with this.
Rowan inherited their willowy figure from their mother. She’s tall, thin, and unlike her daughter, pretty much completely comprised of wood (barring internal organs, naturally). Her skin is essentially Wisteria tree bark, since that is what she is modeled after. Her horns rise up tall on her head, deep purple wisteria vines falling from the top of her head and spilling down to the middle of her back in place of hair. Her face, though small, is round, a lot of her features are rather pixie-like. Her eyes are a luminous green, reminiscent of grass growing in a glade on a summer afternoon. A lot of clothes she wears are pretty loose, usually just a flow-y green tank top worn by an equally flow-y skirt that stop just above her ankles. She’s barefoot pretty much all the time, she is apart of the earth after all, there’s not much to fear from getting her feet dirty from it. She wears a silver necklace that is the symbol of the Comerde trade as that was Bruinen’s engagement gift to her.
General bio:
From adventurer turned merchant’s wife, the spark of life in this woman has a long time yet to die out. She has a rich voice, fairly soft-spoken and kind, but do not mistake any of that for weakness. She has strength to her, it may be quiet, but strength nonetheless. Gentle and compassionate, but also a hint of mysteriousness and mischief to her, you never know just quite what she’s hiding. She is a helper, always around the lake, helping take care of whatever needs done, from keeping the tribe kids out of trouble to mending clothing, she is simply a caretaker. Caretaker and a teacher, she likes teaching the tribes kids how to read and write, as well as any other skills that may be helpful to them. She can also be very teasing, especially with any friends of the family or love interests of her children. She’s very open-minded as well, it typically takes someone to be a true monster for her to actually judge them, which includes humans, whether or not Xadia as a whole accepts them, she has never had any hatred for them, and has taught her children to think the same. She’s the mother of Torin, Rowan and Isla, and wife to Bruinen.

Name: Rowan Comerde
Species: Tidebound/Earthblood
Age: 35
Pronouns: they/them
Birthday: January 7th
Sexuality: bisexual
Height: 6’4
What they (roughly) sound like
Personality:
One hard little worker bee. They like being organized, they like having a plan, they like having something to do. In their mind there is always something to do, and if there’s not, they will find something. They’re like a rushing river, just always moving forward to some sort of goal. The past is behind them, they are barely in the present and looking to the future. And I’m not kidding when I say they’re a hard worker. They work very hard, almost as hard as their father. They will pour over countless papers and calculations to see where they need to be, if there’s a way to be more efficient. Half the time they’re not even asked to do this, they just do it. They took to helping run the tribe and trading business like a fish to water (heh, puns.)
This causes them to be a perfectionist at times. Things need to be running up to maximum efficiency, and if it’s not, they will run themselves into the ground trying to make it more efficient. At least, they would do so if not for their friends and family forcing them to care of themself. They are very grateful for them, and it’s why they work as hard as they do. By running the operations and ensuring it’s going smoothly, they take care of them. It’s their way of showing they care even if it’s sort of a double-edged sword.
Very studious. They are an avid reader, as a child it was usually fiction but as they grew older non-fiction became more favoured. Not to say they don’t read fiction, they do, especially when they need a small break from trying to handle everything. But the functioning world fascinates them, and they do enjoy learning small facts here and there ranging from history to biology. On the fiction side they enjoy reading mysteries mainly, they like trying to piece everything together before the book reveals it.
But, like most of their family, they retain a creative side as well. They are quite skilled in the musical side of things, good at singing and playing the flute. As well as writing poetry and short stories in their free time.
When interacting with others, Rowan has a tendency to be short and to the point. But they don’t just have a no nonsense side. They can be very teasing and snarky to those they’re close to. While usually not the cause of mischief, they are very good at going along with and enabling it.
Background:
Rowan is the middle child of the Comerde family, between Isla the youngest and Torin the eldest, with their Earthblood mother Aerin and Tidebound father Bruinen. They live in the lake mostly, rather than in the house, as having more Tidebound features required them to be in the water most times. They grew up alongside their siblings and the other children of the Tidebound tribe who their father ran. They were taught the values of Tidebounds, as well as the values of Earthbloods, growing up to be a healthy balance of both. Before Isla was born, they squabbled and fought quite a bit with Torin, who didn’t want a younger sibling. But after some time and more fights, he came around. Generally grew up in a healthy environment.
As they learned how to read they were found in the library often. In fact it was rare to ever see them outside of it. They were always learning, always curious on how to be better and know more. Their skills in math, while poor at first, quickly grew. And by the time they were 18, they were more than adept at it. They were always a helper, wanting to solve problems. It was often they snuck around at night and saw how tired their father was from the work he did. It inspired them to do more, ease their father’s work schedule somehow.
Once they grew, they figured out how to do so. They went from only helping their parents with chores, to being a mediator for their peers, to learning how to work directly under their father with the trading business and tribe. They made it clear when they turned 18 they wanted to take over for their father the second he could afford to retire. Which, their father agreed to, and between his son who held no interest in being leader, merely support, and his daughter who was more curious about the world outside their tribe, there were no objections in the matter.
Their training started at 19 and began with smaller things at first. Most of their early work consisted of studying trade and helping the tribe, building trust through community work through most of their early twenties. Then, they were introduced to the math of the trading world, how to calculate the numbers of supply. From there, they began to sit in on meetings with suppliers and other various partners, to study how to behave during those meetings, what to discuss and so forth, as well as to provide the numbers. They were also present with Bruinen when he was dealing with bigger matters involving the tribe, at first only to spectate and then to give a second opinion. As they crossed into their late twenties, they were considered official second in command with the tribe, allowed to take over and make independent choices should Bruinen be otherwise busy or not able to at the time. And from their early thirties to present, were given far more command of the trading business. They proved the necessary leadership and socialization skills to meet with partners by themself, and they travel to various parts of Xadia to meet with suppliers and gain more sellers to work under them.
Blind Universe:
Largely, the same as the main, except a disease came in and caught Rowan, and left them blind. Struggling with their sense of identity essentially being stripped from them and feeling more useless than ever, they take a page out of their sister’s book and leaves the lake slightly unexpectedly from their family, travelling in hopes to find either a way to fix their eyesight or just regain their sense of purpose in general again. They’re a listless elf without it.
Other characters that you might see in their rps:
Torin (their older brother)
Aerin (their mother)
Bruinen (their father)
Isla (another muse, their younger sister)

Her gaze slowly dropped from his the more he talked, wincing once he reached the end. “Skies, that is...yeah that is pretty fucking awful.” She admitted quietly, reaching her hand up to root through her hair.
“You didn’t apologize? I know apologies don’t make everything go away, but there should have been some effort made. I- just stewing in your own guilt doesn’t atone for any of it.” Then her head turned to the closed door, staring in disbelief. “How was she so okay with it? I guess it’s been a while but that’s so...No, I don’t know what I’m saying anymore.” The hand that was in her hair dragged back down over her face, covering over her eyes. And for a moment, just relaxed in the darkness. In the darkness, she could pretend she didn’t hear what Peccantum just said for a quick second.
It was a struggle, to fit that piece of information to the elf that she knew. Someone who had been so patient, and understanding, and downright kind to her, was also someone who had lied for so long to someone that loved him. And ended it with saying everything that would hurt her and leave? How were those two even the same?
A flame of frustration rose up in her, being fed by Nova’s confusion. Nothing that she could articulate, just a swirling mess of emotions that swelled her throat shut.
When her eyes turned back to him, there was only a question of how.

"Aren't you an interesting one. Do tell, what sort of being are you?"
“An..an elf. What else would I be? Who’s asking?” Nova asked gruffly as she looked at the person across from her. They seemed to be an elf…of some sort, at least according to her. Her eyes narrowed on them suspiciously, and adjusted her hood closer over her face.

Her fingers curled around the edge of her bed and just…sat with that answer. “You weren’t really trying to hurt her…” She mumbled, mostly to herself, but loud enough for him to hear.
Her thoughts were all jumbled, she wasn’t really sure what else she could say. Part of her had been hoping that it was something that he hadn’t actually been in the wrong for. And although it was far from life ending, he was in the wrong. Nova just sighed, and bowed her head. Life was shitty and confusing, as per usual, but even so…
“You’re still my friend,” she stated earnestly. She wasn’t sure what he was thinking, or if he was worried if this changed things between them. But if he was, she wanted to put it to rest. It was new, part of her believed she still needed to process it all, but she still liked him.

She tilted her head to the side as she just stared at him. Nova tried to imagine it, Peccantum lashing out and being angry beyond all reason. It was a little scary if she was honest with herself. But that…that she couldn’t judge him for. She could only imagine what would have happened if she had met any of her family before she was ready. Her panicked state had made her lash out at entire strangers, but the things she could have said to her family…none of them would have been kind, and she would have regretted it for the rest of her life. Panic and pain could manifest in the worst possible ways, she knew that firsthand.
So, no, that was not the thing that bothered her.
“Why did you lie to her to begin with?” To her, lying had been the worst of it. Out of the gate never having knowing each other to begin with, it reminded her all too much of well…Dorian. But she didn’t want to believe her friend was capable of anything that monster was. Peccantum had never lied to her, never tried to hide anything for what he believed to be her benefit. There had to be some other reason, something that would let her draw a line and differentiate between the two situations.

Her heart ached, hating to see him like this, like he might fall apart at even the smallest touch. She looked at him concerned, hands loosening their grip on her thread and kite, betore setting it aside completely.
“What happened between you two,” she asked quietly.

She swallowed at the tense air and nodded. “Will…will do.” She allowed Salateris to make her own way out of the room, eventually getting up and closing the door behind her when she was gone.
Silence followed for a while, hands fidgeting at her sides. She didn’t want to make Peccantum talk about this, it seemed to have been as rough on him as it is. And he had given her enough grace and given her space when she fell silent, she’d extend the courtesy to him.
She made her way back to the bed, pulled up her kite, and got some needle and thread. “You can stay here if you’d like but you’re welcome to leave, be quiet or talk about it, whenever you want, or you might never want to talk about it, and that’s fine too. Whatever makes you comfortable, okay?” Was the only thing she said, to make sure he knew he could do whatever he needed.

And the panic surged through her all over again. “Ah, Moonshadow friend, of mine. Just uh, happened to pass by them on the road traveling, offered us some enchanted stuff that functioned as a disguise,” she thought up as quickly as possible. “I don’t know that much about it, just gave him the thing and poof! Disguise…”

The illusion of Nova’s pointed ears drooped down and her head lowered. “I…see. I wish I could argue against that, but I had no idea who you were until now. But I’m sure…” she trailed off. She was sure of what? That he didn’t hate her? Nova had no idea what the fight was even about.
She tried to catch Peccantum’s gaze, ask him silently if he did actually want to talk to her, but she supposed if he did, he would have said something by now.
Instead, she shook her head to clear off the last sentence. “I’m sure my brother will continue to pester you while you’re here, so I’ll hear all about you from now on,” she continued light heartedly, before adding, “just one thing. My family doesn’t ah, know, that Idris’ form is a disguise. So if you could just avoid letting that slip in conversation, it would be very helpful.”

The morning after, Tempest had woken much later than normal. Usually a morning bird, he slept in nearly to noon. And to make matters worse, he felt like he could barely get out of bed. His throat felt dry and scratchy, his body was freezing, and just about everything in his body felt all blocked and stuffed up. He held back a groan.
Things had to get worse before they got better.
He managed to pry himself into a sitting position, although slumped over, and in his sleepy state had entirely forgotten about his guest. Loud stumbling could be heard from his room as he tried to march himself off to the kitchen to get water and food.
Megan frowned, sitting in the waiting room of the clinic. She was nervous. It was her first time getting treated for her mysophobia, or fear of germs. Among all illnesses, she hated colds the most, as they were the most frequent. Little did she know, she would have to deal with her fear much sooner than she expected.
Her therapist entered into the waiting room not much later, waving goodbye to the client that had been in the room with her before smiling at Megan. “You must be Megan, right? Please, come into my office,” she offered kindly, stepping aside to let the other woman through.
It was a good session overall, the beginning to a path of healing from the fear, and her therapist extended the door, letting her out of the office. “First sessions can sometimes be a lot for clients, so if this was intense for you, I’d reccomend doing something to relax yourself with. But, I think it was a great first session, nonetheless, I’ll see you next week.”

“That…that makes more sense. You were polite it’s just, well, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from his initial reaction to seeing you,” Nova admitted. Peccantum still looked like he was ready to die though, was all this really so awkward. “And I…realize this is probably personal so you don’t have to answer but there’s no bad blood, or anything, between you?” She wanted to clarify, just in case there was something she was still missing.

She blinked, and then blinked again, and at that point, just let out a short laugh out of pure amazement at this entire situation. “Oh, thank goodness. This whole time I thought you were some enemy of Peccantum’s that’s been like, trying to hunt him, or was going to turn him in somewhere. But…but no, it’s just…” She trailed off, starting to realize her relief still might not have been entirely appropriate. “Well…still, very, very awkward. I guess we already know first hand running into ex’s is pretty rough.” She started fiddling with her hands as a nervous habit. “Still it’s…nice to know it’s nothing immediately life threatening.”

Nova was equally lost for words, the appearance of her disguise a significantly darker blue than before across her face. It took a moment of her trying to stutter for a response before she just shook her head. “N-no! No, not at all- Not that that would be a bad thing, I’m sure you’d be um, a really great boyfriend-“ Her gaze went to Peccantum, which very much turned into a mistake and only made her blush worse and she decided staring at the floor was her best bet. “Point is, just-just friends. We are just friends who have been traveling together for a bit.”
