I let out a bit of a groan as I feel my body gently shake, already knowing who it is and why. I try to ignore it but the startled squeak of the bat causes my eyes to snap open. It seems he was startled awake.
"Its okay little one. It's just Halsin, he comes and wakes me up once a week for some health stuff." I chuckle a bit as I sit up, rubbing my eyes before looking at Halsin with a tired expression. I appreciated his help more than anything, I just wish there was a more long term option. Halsin gives a gentle smile before holding out the awful potion in his rough hands. I take the potion and grab my flask to wash the bitter taste down, giving the small bat a wink before chugging the potion and the liquid in my flask. I cough a bit and shake my head at the taste, setting the items on my desk before lifting the bat to check his injuries with Halsin.
What the... He's fully healed? I suppose the health potion was stronger than Halsin thought? But I thought he labeled everything meticulously?
"Fascinating. I hadn't expected he'd be healed so soon. These bats aren't known to be particularly fast healers. But I'd keep him one more night just to be sure. I'll get a small animal for it to see if it can feed properly and if it tries to fly around your tent, let it. We will take a rest day, the whole party needs it." Halsin sounds just as confused as me but seems pleased. He leaves my tent with a wave and heads out to find something for the bat. I smile a bit as I remove the splint and bandages from him, laughing a bit as he aggressively stretches and moves his wings. He does a couple wobbly laps around the tent as I get dressed, landing after a moment and staring at me with an almost human look in it's eyes. Confusion? Odd.
I carefully wrap my chest with the cloth, making it as flat as safely possible, and taking a few deep breaths to check its tightness. I huff as I search around for the nice packer that Halsin fashioned out of some cloth stolen from Astarion's sewing kit, though finding it rewarded an odd screech from the bat.
"What? You hungry? Give Halsin a bit longer, he'll bring you something." I chuckle as I carefully place it in my underwear, checking it's position in the mirror before throwing on some casual clothes. Seeing myself in the mirror is a bit 50/50, most days have me wondering how no one else in camp has figured me out yet, but sometimes... Days like today I look how I want. I look like the real me. A small laugh bubbles up at the thought that only the druid and a bat know my secret, a silly little bat knows more about me than the man I'd accidentally fallen in love with.
"You should meet Astarion. He's like you. Feeds on animals blood, red eyes, a bit snooty." A small almost offended sounding sqeak at the last one. "But he's also clever. Clever enough that he has probably already figured me out. Probably why we haven't seen him these last few days. He's got high standards. I was lucky to catch his attention I think, but I don't know how he feels about people like me. We're not always treated very nice." I sigh as I plop myself back on my bed, thinking about my past conversations with Astarion in search of any sign of him knowing about me or disliking me.
The sound of wings flapping hits my ears seconds before the feeling of fur on my neck and collar bone. Soft wings drape gently across my neck and touch my pillow as a small fuzzy head nuzzles into my jaw. I chuckle a little as I feel a strange sense of comfort from him, petting his back a bit before letting my thoughts wander to my adventures so far.
I don't know how much time has past, maybe a few minutes, maybe hours, when Halsin returns to me. He laughs a bit seeing us, holding up a large rat when I finally lift my head. Both me, and funny enough the bat, give a look and sound of disgust. Funny, it hates rats like Astarion too. What I wasn't prepared for though was Halsin to release the rat and run out, causing me to yell and jolt up. Thankfully, despite his initial disgust, the bat quickly catches and kills the rat.
"Thanks buddy. I can't believe he did that! I hate rats! I'm absolutely going to get him back for that." My relief is cut short by the red mist filling the center of my tent where the bat was feeding. I was about to run forward when I noticed a figure within the mist, quickly drawing my dagger as I waited for it to clear.
My dagger dropped with a small clang as I stare at a baked Astarion with no bat in sight. The pieces slowly coming together in my head as I stare at his slightly awkward smirk. Then the moments of the lest 24 hours hit me and my eyes well up with tears and my skin heats with anxiety. If he didn't know before he definitely did now.
"My apologies Darling, I was unable to speak in that form and too weak to change back. Though I appreciate the care you and Halsin provided, I- My love? Are you... Crying? Oh Darling what are you crying for? I assure you I'm alright now, completely healed." His eyes desperately search mine in a panic, the normal facade having completely slipped away. I can barely process his words before he's cupping my cheeks and telling me to breathe and talk to him. I slowly swallow and avoid his eyes, my words coming slow and shaky.
"Don't you care? Aren't you upset I lied or grossed out that I'm not a "real man" I can see it all click in his mind before he laughs a bit, relief flooding his face. Laughing? Why is he laughing?
"Oh my love, absolutely not. Do you think, in all my time luring people, I'd not encountered people like you? Men, women, and everyone in between. All just as fun and just as beautiful, though you certainly out rank them all as most handsome. Is this... why you've been avoiding my advances Darling? And no I'm not upset at you. You didn't lie per say, simply...witheld a bit of truth similar to how I did. I'd be a hypocrite to be angry with you. Now, would you like a cuddle? I hadn't meant to be away for our usual nightly meeting."
He's not mad. Not disgusted. Not even all that surprised. He loves me, and it seems even more so knowing that I'm trans. I slowly meet his eyes as the heat of anxiety fades and my tears finally stop. Now replaced with the familiar butterflies I get when I remember why I fell for him. I nod a bit, not even getting a moment before he's caught me in his arms and pulled me onto the bed and his chest. I laugh a bit as he squeezes me tight, kissing my head gently.
"Might I add Darling, you look particularly handsome today. And if you ever need help getting the chest...thingy on, I would be honored to help you if it means you feel more confident. And if you ever need new, more you, clothing just ask. You are important to me, no matter how you present yourself."
Would you guys like 2 extra parts in Astarions POV? Also feel free to request! Rules for requesting are in the pinned post!

Strays (Pt.1)
Astarion x Trans (Pre-op, Post-hormones) Male Reader (First person)
Fluff
A/n: Reader wears a binder, packs, and currently uses hormones. This is set within the BG3 timeline. Please feel free to request more.
I let out a small huff as I speed up my steps through the streets, my dagger clutched in my left hand and a Fire Bolt floating in my right incase someone approaches. As I'm rushing through the dark streets I pass a few alleys, hearing the quiet callings of the homeless and the consorts of the night. Eventually as I pass one I hear the softest squeaking, not like a mouse or a cat... high and almost weak. I look around carefully, slowly making my way into the alley the noise is coming from, gripping my weapon tighter. I let the Fire Bolt dissipate before quickly casting Dancing Lights, sending three small orbs to line the alley. As light floods the ground, I now see a small, wounded mass of white fur. It's squirming and squeaking as it tries to get back up, causing me to rush to it.
I watch sadly as I watch the small creature squirm more and it's squeaks get even louder in fear.
"Easy, easy little one. I'm not going to hurt you. Let me take you to a druid I know, he can help you. It will be okay, I just want to get you fixed up." My voice rings soft but low, a proof of the progress I've made over the years thanks to the kind druid. Finally the bat calms, lifting a wing to show me what looks like some cuts and probably some broken bones, whilst the other wing only twitches in the attempt to lift it. I audibly wince as I carefully lift it, receiving a few pained squeaks as I cradle what looks like a male bat in my hands. Now to head to camp. The bat seems to have calmed down, it's heart beat now steady against my fingertips as I continue through the streets of Baldurs Gate. I take a deep breath in, smelling the air and the wetness that rests in it. It's going to rain soon, and we are still a few minutes out.
"I'm sorry, we may get wet on the way to camp. Can you smell the rain? I can try to use some magic to help but I don't know what spell I could use... I only know a few spells." I sigh as I start walking a bit faster, seeing the street lights getting fewer and farther between. A small squeak causes my eyes to shoot downwards to the small white fluff, it's ruby eyes staring back up at me. It almost seems to nod it's head in thanks. I smile a bit before trying to move a bit faster, panting softly as my binding cloth causes a dull ache in my ribs. Damn, how long has it been... 10? 12 hours? Halsin is going to be angry with me, and running as well? Yes they're made for fighting but not after 12 hours... almost there, then I can drop the bat with him and get assistance in removing the cloth.
My eyes light up in relief as I see the light from our campfire, then Halsin's tent. As I reach the border of our camp Gale comes over to let me know Astarion hasn't been seen since dinner, but I simply shrug it off as he probably is out hunting, which seems to make sense to Gale as he wanders off.
"Halsin! I got a bad one, one wing with what looks like multiple fractures and cuts and the other too damaged to move. White bat, a bit larger than normal though, do you think anything else may be different for it's anatomy?" My words are quick as I approach the usual medical table and carefully lay the bat down. Halsin rushes over, a few potions and bandages in his hands. He carefully lays them out and very gently adjusts the bat to easily access the wounds, receiving a few angry and pained squeaks and chirps. I bite my lip as I watch the druid work, his large hands working quickly and carefully. The bat now lays bandaged with a makeshift splint on both his wings, rendering him generally immobile.
"You've been learning well, do you want to try to nurse this one back to health? He will need food and healing potions for a few days. He seems to be a vampire bat but rather large compared to the ones I've encountered. Now I know what you're thinking and no, not an actual vampire. They are usually small bats that feed on cattle and small animals, so you may need to collect some blood to feed it, and I have a makeshift bottle you can use as he won't be able to eat from a bowl or on his own. Its up to you though." Halsin finishes a bandage before looking at me, waiting for my answer. As I look down at the pretty bat staring at me, I nod. Eager to further my learning and take care of this adorable creature. Halsin nods as he cleans up his area before looking me over, his face shifting to sadness as his eyes reach my chest.
"You're still wearing them? It's been over 10 hours! I told you no more that 8 on a calm day. Come here let me help you out of them. This is why I had Astarion make you those shirts. No one can tell if you wear those, and it gives you a proper break. How are you feeling? Sore?" His hands work quick once my shirt is off, the slightly sweating a bloody cloth unraveling as he unwinds it. I hear a small sigh before something cold touches my skin and I yelp. Ugh the stupid calming balm, meaning I definitely wore it too long. He hands me my shirt before patting my back. I slip the shirt on and gently scoop the bat and few supplies up, taking them to my tent to rest.
"Are you hungry? Do you need anything to eat before bed? I don't mind, usually I'd be talking with my... friend right now but he's out hunting. He's kinda like you, needs blood. I guess I didn't come back in time to help him out like I usually do. Here, I'll just give you a bit tonight just in case." I carefully cradle the bat as I prepare a small bottle with the pigs blood Halsin gave me, climbing into my bed roll and trying to coax the bat to eat. If I didnt know any better I'd say it looked...embarrassed, looking at the bottle with almost disgust in it's eyes. I laugh a little, pressing the nub against it's lips.
"I know it's not what you're used to but you can't move so the bottle will have to do. Just drink up and you'll feel better within the week little one."
The precious little bat slowly and tiredly begins to drink the blood, desperately pulling as much into its mouth as it can. After about half an hour the bottle is empty and the bat starts to fall asleep. I smile a bit before laying him on a pillow and getting comfortable and falling asleep as well.

Flight Lessons
Astarion x Male reader (1st person)
Note: For this Astarion is unascended but managed to become a full vampire some how and make the reader one as well, he is attempting to teach them to fly (Based on a mini comic I've seen), post Baldurs Gate.
Astarion and I have been living together for about 5 years now, him slowly teaching me how to be a strong Vampire while taking over Cazador's role in the city. He's been working hard to improve the city to the best of his ability, considering he can still only work at night. So far he's taught me how to hunt animals, and has generously employed some people for when either of us need something more powerful. They are all completely willing as well, making it clear to them the effects and the care they will receive afterwards along with their payment. In these years he's healed and grown tremendously from the anxious Spawn I'd met 6 years ago, a genuine smile almost always gracing his handsome features. He's let his white curls grow out a bit longer, just a tad below his shoulders while the front fades into the length beautifully.
"Darling? Oh I apologize, I didn't mean to interrupt your writing time. It's just... the sun is about to dip below the horizon and I thought of a fun lesson for you today, if you want to that is?" He peaked his head into the library door, ruby eyes alight with excitement at whatever he had planned. He'd grown a fondness for going out just after the sun falls below the horizon, when it's still light out but not enough to injure us. I give him a soft and equally excited smile, I adore our lessons and seeing him so excited means it's another fun one.
"No no my love, you didn't interrupt. I am finally caught up to present day and was about to be done anyway. Let me clean up and where should I meet you?" His smile grew wider at my words, reaching his eyes as it had been since he finally freed himself. He nodded and quickly mentioned the balcony before darting off into the palace, probably to prepare. I let out a small chuckle as I began to clean up, carefully closing my ink well and putting my quills away. I pinned my journal open to let the ink dry before rushing off to meet Astarion. He watched carefully through a small hole in the balcony doors, swinging them open forcefully once the sun sunk low enough. We both smiled at the still light sky, walking to the ledge holding each other's hands. He leaned over to me, kissing my cheek gently before speaking up.
"Change into your bat form my sweet, tonight you will learn to fly." My eyes lit up at the thought, I'd been waiting for this lesson for so long. I eagerly let my magic engulf me as my body shrunk, starting to fall a bit before I landed in Astarion's large hands. They'd grown softer recently, though I suppose less fighting for your life will do that. I blinked up at him excitedly, stretching my crimson wings out with a small squeak. He chuckles as he pets my head for a moment.
"Now listen carefully, I am going to hold you over the ledge, and let you fall. All you need to do is shift so your belly is towards the ground and flap your little wings, okay?" His eyes hold a bit of concern now, searching my own for understanding and any sign of doubt. I nod eagerly, though truth be told I wasn't sure how to even maneuver in the air. I'd try my best for him though. His nods and let's out a small sigh, clearly a bit anxious. But this is how he learned, so hopefully I would be able to do it as well. He kisses my fluffy head before stretching his arms over the ledge, giving a small encouraging smile he then pulls his hands apart and let's me fall.
Time seemed to slow as I felt the wind slipping through my fur and my view of Astarion getting smaller and further away. In that moment I felt incapable of moving, just staring up at him in a mixture of panic and calmness. I hear a grumble from him, which I later learned was him cursing, before I watch his body morph into his own large, white bat form and dive after me. He moves so quickly I barely can keep track before I feel two small claws grab onto my scruff and flip me over, now pulling me upwards and away from the terrifyingly close ground. I am carefully placed on the ledge before he shifts back to his human form and begins rapidly examining me, checking for any scrapes or possibly injuries.
Watching him look me over, I suddenly find myself filled with calm. I begin to giggle, or squeak more like, causing his eyes to meet mine in confusion.
"Darling? You nearly hit the ground and you're laughing? Gods it would have been weeks of recovery had I not reacted so quickly. Are... are you alright? Is anything sore? Change back, let me check for bruises." He sighs as I allow my body to grow once more, sitting on the ledge with my feet dangling. He face relaxes as he sees no signs of bruising, beginning to chuckle now as well.
"Okay, so what we will do, since you don't seem hurt or too shaken up, is go to the ballroom. Have you practice taking off from the ground or my hands. Okay?" I nod eagerly before hopping off and rushing downstairs, laughing when I feel Astarions presence behind me, chasing me. I leap over the dining room table as he dashes around it, still right on my tail as we reach the ball room. We both laugh as he hugs me close, enjoying these moments of calmness and comfortability. I slowly lean up and peck his lips.
"Look at us. Living almost normal lives, happy, safe, you teaching me how to be a vampire. Look how far you've come Astarion. You fell in love, and have a place to call home, all while bettering your city." He shyly looks away at my words, still smiling as he realizes I'm right. He pecks my cheek again before pulling away. Nodding for me to transform again. I do so, again landing in his hands.
"Okay, so I want you to stand up, open your wings and begin to flap them, try to just go up and down for now." I stabilize myself on my feet, stretching my wings out and beginning to rapidly flap them as hard as I can. I squeak excitedly as I feel my body moving upwards quickly, looking down at Astarion in excitement.
"Hold on Darling not that fa-" His words are cut off as I accidentally dart upwards due to my rapid flapping, managing to hit my head on the chandelier and begin to fall. I hear him better this time, yelling a loud "SHIT" as he dashes to catch me. He carefully cradles me in his hands before rushing us upstairs into the bedroom bathroom, setting me on the counter as I change back. His eyes rapidly scan my body before landing on a small cut on my forehead with an already forming bruise around it. He let's out a small growl as he gently cleans it before grabbing some ointment. Sadly I'm clumsy enough he keeps the rapid ointment on hand, carefully dabbing it onto my wound and watching it begin to heal.
"I think that's enough for tonight, how about we go take Scatch for a walk? It's a warm night so I doubt we will need our jackets." His hands rest on my knees as he continues watching my wound heal, making sure nothing goes wrong.
"That sounds nice. Sorry I worried you so much, I was so excited." He chuckles softly as his eyes finally meet mine.
"Isnt that love my sweet? Worrying about each other? It's alright. We can try again tomorrow, but take it slow. Go get your shoes on, I will prepare Scratch and meet you by the door."
