MY 4 FAVORITE FEMALE POP GROUP MUSIC VIDEOS OF ALL TIME!!!!
Folks, it has been quite the pleasure sharing some of my favorite pastimes over the years: divulging in some of my favorite performances, music videos, and other things in my wormhole of binge watching music videos, but it is now time for my last blog post!!! I know, tragic right? We are going to go out with a BANG and I am going to be sharing with you my 4 most favorite music videos from a female pop group of all time, and why it resonates with me so much! To kick off the final countdown I would like to start out by sharing Destiny’s Child.
youtube
Destiny's Child - Say My Name
The Holy Trinity of the 90′s-2000′s? Well In the 90′s Destiny’s Child actually had 4 members. Beyoncé Knowles, LeToya Luckett, Kelly Rowland, and LaTavia Robertson. Dealing with legal issues amongst the group left Destiny’s Child a trio (being replaced by Michelle Williams) in the change of the millenium. Say My Name consists of the original 4 girls. From the iconic 90's color themed room, the outfits corresponding to the room colors, the iconic choreography during the bridge of the song [(Where my ladies at?) Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,] to the vocal diversity DC produced, Say My Name is a song that will live on in karaoke bars worldwide, and just a smidge of the success Destiny’s Child achieved in their career.

Fifth Harmony - Work from Home ft. Ty Dolla $ign
What has steamy construction workers, a famous rapper, one of the most successful girl group of the 2010's decades, and bomb ass choreography with tools? FIFTH HARMONY!!! Work From Home was one of my FAVORITE music videos when it debuted because of the sexualness the women exuded. Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui all came together from the American version of X Factor, and placed 3rd in the competition. I felt as though Work From Home really was their career defining song, because it was EVERYWHERE: In the clubs, at home, on commercials on television, and most definitely blasting in my car with my friends.  The music video has over 2.2 BILLION views on Youtube and is one of the most successful girl group of this last decade.
youtube
Danity Kane [feat. Yung Joc] - Show Stopper
REALITY SHOW HISTORY!!!!!!! Danity Kane was constructed by 90's rap powerhouse Diddy, on a reality show titled ,”Making the Band” on MTV. The show showcased 5 girls who beat out a reality competition of becoming a band, and demonstrated the process the girls went through with making Danity Kane; a girl group showing the ups and downs of the music industry. Show Stopper was their debut single and it was SUCH a part of my childhood dreams of becoming a reality show star! The music video was filled with a lowrider car pimped out in Louis Vuitton seats with a candy red apple paint on the exterior, choreography in the middle of an empty street, and a guest spot featuring Yung Joc.
youtube
The Pussycat Dolls - Buttons ft. Snoop Dogg
When i tell you the sex appeal of this group was EXTREMELY SATISFYING. The FINALE of this countdown belongs to none other than The Pussycat Dolls. Nicole Scherzinger, better known as the leading lady of PCD, defined the sexuality, charisma, and face of The Pussycat Dolls. Created by Robin Antin in 1995, The Pussycat Dolls started off in a burlesque lounge in LA, serving fresh performances each night with guest hosts such as Christina Aguilera P!nk, and Carmen Electra. Jimmy Iovine of Interscope Records suggested that Antin should create a pop group with the same name. Buttons was an instant SUCCESS along with 3 other number 1 smash singles from their debut album, Buttons showcased a choreographed chair routine, a ring of fire, killer sexuality and a phenomenal rapper by the name of Snoop Dogg!!!!!! NEED I SAY MORE?????
Note* PCDROX- was my Myspace password for many of years and it just shows my dedication to my fav girl group of all time !!!!!
***Just want to share my gratitude for this project. I actually looked forward to this every time a blog post was due. I have shared my blog posts with my friends and family and it brought out a happiness in me that I didn’t know I could possess. Creativity sparked inside of myself that I didn't know existed. A place to write about what I LOVE and with no pressure to be grammatically correct, and show my feelings through words. Music is such an important aspect to my life, and mix it with my fun pop culture facts about the artists I have mentioned, it really showed me why I love music. Hopefully I continue to write about what I am passionate about, and get to pursue a career in the entertainment industry that I was born to work for. With that being said. I am signing out.
xoxo

4 Longest charting songs at number 1 on the Billboard 100!
In terms of breaking the internet within 24 hours, We’re are starting a new segment! Today we are going over the 4 songs that held the record for longest charted number one songs on the Billboard 100!
youtube
Kicking off this countdown, I bring to you one of the most catchy, funky 70′s inspired songs in the last decade. It was all over radio stations, clubs, and probably my go to karaoke song! Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson Feat. Bruno Mars. This banger of a song was filled with a lot of funk and attitude and anytime I listen to it it puts me in such a good mood! Mark Ronson is a well known producer and his most known work to date is is his hit, Valerie, with the late Amy Winehouse. UF charted January 2014 and remained at #1 for 14 weeks ! Bruno Mars is the king of funk in the last decade and did an amazing job keeping his name in everyone’s mouth for the whole Winter-Summer! The music Video currently has 3.7 Billion views and is one of the most watched music video on Youtube.
(It should be noted that 7 other artists have reached this milestone ! Not mentioned artists such as: The Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling, I Will Always Love You- Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey- We Belong Together.)
youtube
Speaking about Mariah Carey holding the number one spot at 14 weeks, she is no stranger to chart topping number 1′s. 10 years prior she broke the record for longest number one in Billboard’s history and held the crown for 23 years! One of the best selling careers in pop music history, in 1995 she released the chart smashing hit: One Sweet Day Feat. Boyz 2 Men. This record was a smash hit and charted the number 1 spot for 16 weeks! Previously stated in an interview Carey mentioned she felt inspired to write it after longtime collaborator David Cole passed away from AIDS. Being in ‘95 the height of the HIV Epidemic, Carey and Boyz 2 Men collaborated on a song to give tribute to the beautiful lives lost to this tragic disease. Did i mention she held this record for 23 YEARS!!!! The music video currently has 181 million views and is not credited for the popularity of the music video since the song was released before Youtube was created.
youtube
What do One Sweet Day by Mariah Carey Feat. Boyz 2 Men and Despacito Remix- Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee Feat. Justin Bieber have in common?
They both hold the same record of holding the number one spot in Billboard’s chart history at 16 weeks!
2017 was a big year for this trio! Justin Bieber lended his vocals for the remix to Despacito and the world was SHOOK. Leading the charts May 2017, Bieber learned some Spanish for his sultry vocals and all the Beliebers( Justin’s name for his fan base) immediately went to the internet to learn his lyrics. His sensual slow words Despacito led women crazy! The video currently has 650 million view and doesn’t have a proper music video other than the original song without Bieber.
youtube
THE CURRENT REIGNING CHAMPION OF THE BILLBOARD’S LONGEST CHARTING SONG AT NUMBER ONE!!!! I present to you Old Town Road Remix- Lil Nas X Feat. Billy Ray Cyrus. After finding starting success on the app Tiktok for the “Yeehaw Challenge”, Lil Nas X tweeted on Twitter saying, he wanted Billy Ray Cyrus on the remix. The music video included coyboy hats, horses, and banjos galore. Being released April 2019, Old Town Road found superstardom immediately dethroning Drake’s In My Feelings, and held the title for a whopping 19 weeks!
Only time will tell who will be the next artist to break OTR’s legacy! Will we have to wait another 23 years?

5 Music Videos that BROKE THE INTERNET!
Back at it again with another EXCITING blog post ya’ll!!! Can’t say I didn’t miss ya! Today we’re going to continue the theme of music videos because I just can’t get enough!!! VEVO is a company in partnership with Youtube and it promotes brand new music videos and has it’s legendary 24- Hour VEVO record! The next 4 music videos are songs that climbed the VEVO chart the fastest!
youtube
Miss. Swift herself. This isn’t her first rodeo on the VEVO 24-hour record! Being released as her first single of her upcoming album titled Lover, Swift teamed up with  2000′s emo king Brendon Urie of Panic At The Disco. Lover is her first album under a new contract through Universal Records. Her last 6 albums were under Big Machine Records for the last 15 years. The lead single, “ME!” currently holds the throne for 24- hour rule, garnering 65.2 million views! Swift is no newcomer to extravagant music videos. ME! has her new kitten, Benjamin Button, having a minor role, and also has hidden “Easter eggs” hinting at the title of a track off of Lover, (the album title), and Swift herself dancing around in pastel rainbow colors with Urie. The lead single currently has the throne for 157 days and counting. 269,113,909 views in total. Who will be able to top this??
youtube
2018 was the most challenging, rewarding and difficult whirlwind of a year for Ariana Grande. With a recent infamous engagement, #1 album Sweetener, a death of her famous ex-boyfriend, and a failed engagement months after, Grande breaks her silence on her chaotic life with the release of Thank You, Next. The MV of this single has nostalgic early 2000′s romcom vibes, listing movie references from: Mean Girls, 13 Going on 30, Bring It On, and Legally Blonde. Also including famous celebrity friends, a cameo from her dog Tutalouse, and her very own version of The Burn Book. Grande sings about how grateful she is for her past relationships because they all taught her various lessons in life. Thank You, Next racked up 55.4 million views in its breakout debut and held the throne for 304 days before being dethroned by Swift. To date the MV has 431,760,055 views.
youtube
Taylor Swift is such a household name nowadays, but with Look What You Made Me Do she used her infamous feud with Mr. Kanye and Mrs. Kim Kardashian West to her advantage in her new, unpredicted era, and took the narrative of being a “snake” in late summer of 2017. Previous years prior, Swift had been on the height of her career touring for 1989 album cycle, when her world came crashing down along with her reputation trending simultaneously. With the feud of he-said-she-said battle, Swift was painted out to be the bad guy (or girl in her case) and took some well deserved time away from the media and her predicted “2 year album cycle drop” to curate the next steps of her career. LWYMMD is the lead single to her follow up album to the world wide phenomenon of 1989. A single that broke away from bubble gum pop image of 1989, Swift portrays herself in the MV as what all the paparazzi and media outlets painted her out to be according to her “Reputation”. Along with a darker, edgier version of herself. With the new album titled Reputation, Taylor starts off the video rising from her grave (that Kanye and Kim theoretically buried her in) and rose despite the feud. A fun little cameo she does at the end of the MV is poke fun at her past “versions” of herself in her previous music videos and recites a speech from an interview she did with Rolling Stone Magazine about “being excused” from the narrative that the Wests’ put on her. Look What You Made Me Do broke the VEVO 24-hour record streaming 43.2 million views in August 2017. The video currently has 1,095,612,707 and held the title for 460 days before being dethroned by Ariana Grande.
youtube
The number 4 video to break the internet 24-hour record is the one, the only, Adele. Piggybacking off of her HIGHLY successful album 21, Adele came back guns-a-blazing with this power ballad of a hit we all know and expect from her. Hello was an instant smash hit and was all anyone could sing in the car with a catchy chorus and a whole lot of angst towards her past fling. Being the lead single from her 3rd album 25, Adele succeeded at making yet another smash album, garnering 3.5 million copies sold in its first week. The MV broke the record with 27.7 million views in October 2015 and held the title for 674 days before being dethroned by Taylor Swift.
youtube
Not once, twice, but THREE times the charm? Swift has a very big fan base and when she announced Bad Blood as the next single fans were thriving! Bad Blood is the third single off her now diamond status album (10 million copies) 1989. Packed with a star-studded cast and a remix of a song featuring Kendrick Lamar, Swift proved her stunt skills were on-point with this MV. Bad Blood actually is about a feud between her and pop star Katy Perry, where Perry allegedly took Swift’s back up dancers from her tour to join Katy’s tour; sparking a long-lasting feud between the two that ended in early June 2018. In May 2015, Swift ran up the views to 20.1 million views in the first 24 hours and currently has 1,316,910,146 views currently. Swift also has 4 MV’s to all reach the 1 Billion marker per video. Bad Blood held the title for 158 days prior to Adele’s Hello.

Top 5 Favorite MTV VMA Performances
youtube
Starting off #5 spot strong, I present to you Miley Cyrus Feat. Robin Thicke performing We Can’t Stop/ Blurred Lines.
After years of Miley shedding her Disney Channel image with videos circulating the internet of her smoking Salvia out of a bong, Miley had also contributed to the controversy of her childhood image being shed by shaving her hair off into a gender bending cut.
Miley started this legendary new era by coming out of a giant bear. The performance is filled with inflatable bears twerking with her, a foam finger, and a whole lot of tongue waving. Later in the performance R. Thicke comes out and performs a duet with Cyrus (Blurred Lines) while provocatively being twerked on by Cyrus. Thicke was under scrutiny by media outlets because he was a married man.
youtube
As this countdown keeps going I’ve always remembered this performance as memorable. I present to you #4 best VMA Performance: Eminem performing his 2000/s medley “The Real Slim Shady/The Way I Am.”
Seeming I was only 5 when this performance rocked the VMA stage, I was genuinely fascinated with his 100 clones of himself. His image back then was bleached untoned hair, a white wife-beater tank top, and blue Levi’s. Coming in “guns-a-blazing” to Radio City Music Hall, Ny. Eminem storms the isles with his army of clones rapping vengeful, hateful lyrics to celebrities in the audience. ( Christina Aguilera/ Carson Daily) As he arrives to the main stage he changes songs to “The Way I Am” which is a song written about his critics over the years.
Slim Shady is Eminem’s sadistic alter-ego. This single coming off his highly anticipated next album, The Marshall Mathers LP, Which outsold Britney Spears’ debut album ...Baby One More Time and Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle, Eminem proved to be a force in the hip-hop industry.
youtube
When I think of the VMA’s my INSTANT thought process goes to Ms. Spears herself. “Princess of Pop” earns herself the #3 spot on this countdown.
Over the years of shedding her teeny bopper image of the late 90′s, Spears’ has at this point in time been growing her over-sexual image by debuting her new era on the VMA stage. Being a two-time performer prior to this moment, Spears knew the pressure this performance had stacked up against the rest.
Emerging from a cage, being an over-sexual version of “Jungle Girl” Spears shows off her impressive choreography, and legendary hair flips. The point that stamps her 2001 performance as one of her most ICONIC performances is the fact that she carried around a 25 LB Albino Burmese Python across her shoulders. Making it look effortless and sexy at the same time, this performance has been recreated over the years for Halloween Costumes, talent shows, and comedy parodies, but will always go down in VMA history.
youtube
This countdown is approaching the most legendary performances, but no one deserves #2 spot more than reigning “Queen of Pop” Ms. Madonna, and her counterpart “Princesses of Pop”, Britney Spears & Christina Aguilera. Also feat Missy Elliot. I present to you: Medley of Madonna’s Like A Virgin/Hollywood
Emerging from a giant wedding cake, Spears and Aguilera appear to be two gorgeous brides. Singing alternate verses of Madonna’s catchy 80′s song, Like a Virgin, The two role around the stage with choreography awaiting their “groom”. The song changes and Madonna appears with a tux and top hat on reclaiming her brides.
The moment that earned this performance it’s racy news media frenzy driven reputation happened after a wedding-esque choreography of tradition of groom and bride’s first dance. Madonna locks lips with Britney Spears and then turns to her alternate counterpart and locks lips with Christina Aguilera.
Background to this performance, Spears said in an interview years later the infamous kiss was mentioned by Madonna seconds from the live performance. Also Spears had just broken up with fellow singer Justin Timberlake over infidelity issues, and the camera positioned the reaction perfectly with her ex-boyfriend. DRAMMMMAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
youtube
THE TIME IS HERE. THE NUMBER 1 BEST PERFORMANCE IN MTV VMA HISTORY: Lady Gaga with her blood-drenched performance of Paparazzi.
Gaga having extreme success over the last 2 years promoting her debut album “The Fame”, graces the VMA stage for the 1st time showing the world she is a force to be reckoned with. After having 2 number one singles (Just Dance/ Poker Face) and 2 more successful singles afterwards, Gaga stepped on the VMA stage with her final promotional single, Paparazzi.
Laying on the ground center stage, performing her current number one song, “Poker Face” acoustically, Gaga sets the tone of the performance in what looks like a mansion set up from the music video. Looking up at the chandelier, Gaga sings, “ I pray the fame won’t take my life”. Transitioning to her newest single, Paparazzi, a song about how paparazzi’s influence on fame could potentially kill her, Gaga portrays that exact scenario live.
With extensive choreography, and a piano solo where she essentially induces self harm, Gaga begs of the paparazzi to tell her how to achieve ultimate fame in their eyes. Blood dripping from her abdomen, Gaga concludes this performance by literally hanging from the ceiling eyes glazed over and all eyes are on her. After all, fame brings on a life of always chasing the next high that fame gives. Death is the end result.
