As the staff post about ad-free tumblr continues to get thousands of notes telling staff to fuck off in the tags, I wanna remind you that this website's days are numbered. Tumblr is still unprofitable and by some modern-day miracle none of its acquiring companies pulled the plug on this money pit. But it will happen if it continues its trajectory.
Whether you like it or not, Tumblr needs to make money off you somehow in order to stay up. It either serves ads or asks for money to use it. This has been a paradigm on the web longer than many of you have been alive. It's Tumblr's job to make money right now because it's well past its grace period of being a black hole for cash. This has actually always been Tumblr's job, since it is a corporation, but that's capitalism for ya.
If you want Tumblr to be here for free and you want to continue to use it, you do yourself a disservice by opposing any changes Tumblr makes in order to pay for its costs. When this site finally goes belly-up then you're gonna be Tumblr-less until whatever startup takes its place and the cycle repeats itself.
If you think it should just ask for donations Wikipedia-style, remember that if and when that happens, there will be users repeating the same tired bullshit about giving Tumblr any money.

Decoration Ideas for (Greek) Divinekin
Some of these ideas came to me today, so I thought I would share :) This is from my POV as a Greek godshard, but I hope it can help others too! -white/light interior to maximize light -semi-transparent, maybe slightly sparkly curtains -laurel garlands, maybe a wreath for your door -statues, both real and replicas -golden candle holders, golden accents in general are a plus -rich royal blues and reds -beautiful vases or bowls -a “center” of the room’s energy leading to a beautiful, personal piece that is important to you; similar to the statue at the epicenter of a temple -posters and imagery of your symbolism for the walls; there’s a lot of custom themed wall clocks you can get for relatively cheap, too -have your instruments on display, if you have any -use enough candles/incense/sprays that your room has a pretty smell

"we were born alone & we die alone" you delivered yourself during birth? built all the roofs that have ever given you shelter? sown the wheat in your bread?? weaved the clothes on your back??? wrote all the books youve ever read and the music youve ever listened to????? who made the literal bed youre going to die in - you, all alone?

sorry if i misunderstand something but are you basically saying that youre a particle of artemis? as in. (re?)incarnated part of a goddess?
Yeah, that's pretty much the best way to describe it.
A small piece that became a human and is down here doing human things.

Godshards and starseeds, your identities aren’t spoken about enough. You belong in alterhuman spaces and are completely valid, no matter how much your experiences are spoken about.

Any godshards out there?
Please comment on this post if you resonate with this label, I’m hoping to find similar souls :) I’ll probably be making posts about my own experiences as a godshard soon, but I’d really love to be able to talk any of you out there. Hope it’s not too long of a shot.
(Here’s a really good post about godshards if you don’t know the term, basically a spiritual way of explaining deitykin)

Aaaa thank you!!
Hello!! I really love your moodboards, and I'm new to the otherkin community.
Can I please have a moodboard for a feminine godshard of Artemis (so forest, moon, etc) with gold themes and maybe a tie to dragons or music if you're up for a challenge?
Thank you sm!

I feel that a lot of you need to hear this - life being terrible as a human doesn't mean you're here as punishment, or that there was ever or is now something broken about you. Human life is hard for everyone, including humans. Instead of wondering why you were put here to suffer, instead consider maybe you came here or were put here so you could see what needs to be done to help humanity. Maybe the problem isn't being human, it's human society. That is something that can be helped, even for a small group of people, even just for one person who will then spread those messages. Find the good things and foster them. I'm not saying this because I think it'll be easy, or that you're all magically going to be cured of whatever ills you here. I'm saying this because it's sad to see so many in the divine and angelic tags being so upset and so distressed when you could be finding out what makes humans happy, including yourself as a human here. No entity has ever lived a perfect life, including divine's and that's the hardest truth I have. You're looking back with nostalgia because things are hard now and that's all. There may or may not be a time when you're divine* again, but you're still divine* enough to experience things in a divine* way and learn. If you feel you're learning only cruelty than think about overcoming them and look hard for the things that are good because I promise you good things are out there in abundance on this big beautiful planet filled with weird and wonderful, kind and compassionate, caring and loving humans. These are words from someone who has struggled and still does. Also, you're doing good. You really are. The fact you're still here, living, even though you're having a hard time, proves that. There's no bar of achievement to reach. No awards to win. Just keeping on every day and doing what you can do, building yourself up and allowing yourself to have breakdowns and then recover. That is what makes you close to humans and also utterly divine.* *or demonic, whichever you prefer
