hey guys, i need to take a break from the tag for a while. that one post i made, the one that is only half correct, is stressing me out too much. i've had some people politely correct me, but some others have been pretty rude and i can't deal with that right now. (i know it sounds childish and maybe i should "grow a thicker skin" but whatever)

About the NSFW stuff: even if you untick the box, blogs that Tumblr's flagged as "adult" for don't show up in tag searches or search engine searches, so they are unfindable unless you're already following them or somebody reblogs something from them. Also, the Tumblr app now blocks you from searching "gay" "bisexual" "lesbian" "depression" or numerous other "NSFW" words. YES GAYS ARE NOW CONSIDERED NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY by the Tumblr app used by a significant proportion of Tumblr members to log on

apparently for some it has worked, but for others, unticking the safe mode box does NOT work

i’ve been told that just because it works for a few people, that is probably because the changes don’t happen all at once

please do not continue to distribute the other image, as it appears to be inaccurate. i have added that it appears to only work for nsfw blogs, not blogs flagged as "adult"

mm, i noticed a few months back that some people had this problem and fixed it but i JUST realised that the big uproar had to do with the same thing. some others have found out before me but.

still.

i mean it was shady as hell to default everything without TELLING PEOPLE JFC

but whatever so if you're tagged adult and people can't see you in tags it's tumblr's fault for not warning people >:(

guys i just

did a thing and i found out why things like "gay" and "lesbian" default to lgbtq and the porn tags are empty

your blog is set automatically to safe mode under "dashboard" in your settings.

if you untick that box

you can see posts from nsfw and adult blogs in tags again

a lot of people don't know they've been automatically defaulted to safe mode (i know i didn't at first and was angry that i couldn't see the porn tag ehehe)

so while it's kind of stupid that they didn't tell us our blogs default to sfw mode, if people turn off that option, flagged blogs will STILL SHOW IN TAGS LIKE NORMAL

if someone has information that contradicts this, let me know please.
