tbh it’s kinda upsetting that my audience haven’t been growing since? 2022-2023. i feel like i am standing in one place despite getting better at my art. at first i thought the reason why i don’t get as much feedback as i wanted to is because of my skill - and i think i were right, but now, when i’m much better at art, i just don’t understand what’s the problem? i think my drawing are good, i like them. i see people with the same skill getting Numbers and i don’t understand why do i flop most of the times? why no one cares? i had a few popular pieces and i don’t like at least two of them, and artworks that i put effort in, that i made with love, just get…. 200 notes? 400 if i’m lucky enough? wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t like that since 2023. i’m just tired. i have a bunch of followers on tumblr tho i feel forgotten.

so everyone (me and two other people) have been talking about the whole burda sculptor x painter au and i remembered about this small comic i made a few months ago
translation: [hey, can we go already?]
and a few thoughts about my vision below the cut
so paradoxically i see daniil as a person who does not understand modern art, does not respect it and doesn’t like it. i mean, in his eyes, there are a bunch of tala ted people who just ???do nothing???? with their skills and ideas. it annoys him af, because if ‘all those skills and ideas were applied on practice (i.e something that has a ‘proper utility’. miracles are supposed to work for people’s sake, they must serve us as natural resources do. so, he respects basically any artist who experiment not on the canvas, but right here, before themself. he respects architects, directors and those who try to make impact on a person or challenge their mind through the art that physically exist, those who prepare theoretical part of miracle. well, you can argue with a lot of points here. i can argue. i do not agree with him on how art utility works, there are many contradictions, and i find his approach to the art wrong. (also there are many nuances i can’t care enough to discuss it with myself (or anyone else) in this tumblr post
contrary, artemy, as a person who feels, as a person who’s lead by love and intuition, as a person who knows lines - any art that was made with a concept, with a thought, any art is special to him. he can feel this art, almost can hear what it says or that it’s silent. it speaks with him and he listens. he loves it, he finds it interesting and intriguing. art doesn’t necessarily needs a utility, miracle does not need a human nor does it have to serve humanity.

thank you for your work and research! i also wanted to add: buddhism was popular and is popular among mongols and buryats.
and: if you want to research more about shamanism you can check out g.v. ksenofonotv's works! he himself is yakut and he did *a lot* of work studying buryat, evenks and yakut traditions and folklore.
If one were to be writing a patho au with a deep focus on religion, in which Dankovsky is an ROC seminarian, what would be the most appropriate religions to use to research the Steppe religion for writing Artemy?
I find that while playing Pathologic a lot of the themes regarding rationality/logic (and utopianism) versus mysticism and folk practices lend themselves to religious discourse as well, obviously Artemy's medical tradition is inherently religious, but I thought it natural to take it a step further.
In my experience (which is biased due to my Roman Catholic background, hence why I want to do more research on all this), Christianity is somehow regarded as a more "rational" religion, especially as you move within its hierarchies which often work to suppress folk practices or "heretical" beliefs. And often the way Daniil talks about his research reminds me of a theologian. So, I'd like to get better insight into the ROC and it's relationship to folk religion, like what the Steppe religion would be based on.
TL;DR I want to write a Burda fanfic that explores themes of religious turmoil because in My religiously traumatized brain Pathologic reminds me of Christianity and debates on rationalism, the relationship to the body and earth, religious tolerance and pluralism, etc., but I'm not as well-versed in Eastern European/Slavic religion so I'm looking for help/sources.
Thank you if you read this far I appreciate any advice or corrections to my thinking.
