“Endgame”

Ship: Loki x Reader

Summary: all I’m going to say is infinity war and endgame related

A/N: I’m typing this at 1am bc im feeling sad and I want to write about Loki

.

.

You had sat there, begging Loki to not go up to Thanos and give him what he had came here for. His minions were obviously not too happy with you trying to go against their master but they obeyed orders and kept back until they were told to. Loki was smart, not too smart though because if he truly was you wouldn’t be in this situation you were in right now.

As you watched Loki from afar, one of Thanos’ children kept watch on you as you sat helpless on the floor and could barely move from how beaten up you were just moments ago while trying to fight your way through, knowing it was no use.

“Darling, please know that I’ll forever be yours as you are mine. I’m sorry for putting through you such pain as this… but you’ll be safe once this is over.” Loki had whispered to you, his lips pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead and you tried to reach your weak hands out towards him but he stood and walked towards Thanos.

“Loki-“ You barely managed to get out, the pain in your chest only increasing and his absence from beside you became quite hard for you already.

You knew what Loki was capable of and you knew exactly what he was going to do which only made you try harder to get up and try to grab him before he decided to make any stupid decisions. Your beloved boyfriend stood too far, the aching pain in your bones was unbearable and you cried as you kept trying to stand.

Loki was stupid, sometimes. He never thought plans through and sometimes thinks the easiest route is to fake his death which led to you crying, grieving then kicking his ass when you found out the pain he put you through.

But as you say there, watching Thanos pick up your boyfriend by the throat like he was nothing, you knew Loki couldn’t fake his death now.

“No.. no, stop. Stop! Stop it!” You finally had the courage to scream at him, pleading and crying for him to let Loki go from his grasp.

“Kill me instead!” You blurted out, causing his head to turn towards yours and his eyes norrowed.

“You would give your life up for a weak frost giant?” Thanos spoke, his grip still on Loki’s throat but not as tight as it was before.

“Yes, if I have a choice I’ll die for Loki.”

“Why?”

“You’ll do anything for the person you love most, right?” You whimpered, staying on your knees and silently crying as Loki mouthed no towards you multiple times.

“I think I rather see you two suffer.” He looked between you and Thor, his smile appearing when his eyes focused on Loki.

Then it was back to his grip tightening around his throat, your screams increasing and the tears only continuing to flood down your cheeks until you heard his neck snapped like a twig. You gasped, your throat suddenly getting dry and you watch him throw your lifeless boyfriend onto the ground like he was a doll.

“Loki..” you whispered, his eyes open but lifeless as blood rolled down from them.

You didn’t even notice Thanos had left, you were too focused on Loki and bringing yourself to crawl to him. You had picked him up and lay him in your lap, hugging him close to your chest while you sobbing uncontrollably.

“I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.” You repeated, your face burying in his black hair and you took in his scent one last time before Thor grabbed onto you.

“It’s time to go, Y/N.”

As time went on and everyone was back, except Loki, you couldn’t help but feel the ache in your chest grow bigger. You sat in the Avengers compound, staring at the wall feeling completely numb and completely empty. Thor tried numerous times to cheer you up, nothing worked and he couldn’t succeed. 

Thor started to feel guilty, knowing about Loki ruining the timeline and still being alive, he couldn’t bring himself to tell you. Especially considering it wasn’t even the same Loki you watched die. He would watch you act lifeless, won’t even go on missions, won’t help the Avengers- nothing. They even threatened to kick you out before Thor stepped in and made them understand the pain you were feeling inside of your chest.

You blamed yourself, it was your fault he wasn’t alive and in front of you- you could’ve done something. You could’ve stopped or at least take his place to die instead. Everything ran through your head, everyday you thought about the same stuff and cried yourself to sleep about it.

As your small feet shuffled towards the kitchen one morning, you stopped in your tracks when you heard whispering and shushing going on around the corner. You pressed your back against the wall, listening to Thor, Bucky and Sam talk. You heard your name come up in the conversation and you couldn’t help but worry if they were thinking about kicking you out again.

“Are you going to tell her? We can’t keep this from her.” You furrowed your eyebrows, what did Sam just say? Keep what from you?

“I rather not tell her, it will ruin her, drive her crazy.” Thor whispered, standing his ground and leaning back against the kitchen counter.

“She deserves to know… it’s Loki we’re talking about here.”

That was the last straw for you. You turned the corner, looking at all three of them and casually walked over to pour yourself a cup of coffee as they remained silent, not knowing if you heard what they said or not just moments before. You turned around, staring at them and takes a sip of the steaming hot coffee.

“So, what can’t I know about Loki?” You finally spoke, chasing Thor to almost choke as Sam and Bucky instantly left the kitchen to leave the two of you alone.

“Y/N…”

“No- cut it. I get it, you want to protect me but keeping shit from me isn’t going to help anyone. Especially if it’s about Loki, so are you going to fucking tell me or do I have to go harass Sam for it?” You snapped, the anger in you started to boil and you never realized how badly hurt you were and how angry you were inside.

You always held it in, acted as if nothing bothered you but truth is- you had all these emotions built up inside of you that needed to be released somehow and it wasn’t meant to be aimed at Thor.

“He’s alive…”
