Fanfic is a free hobby.

It's one of the last few things we can have as a society that's free. You can engage, for free. People give you things (art, stories, etc), for free.

Don't buy into the consummerism just because it's everywhere else.

You don't have to consume everything you interact with. You don't have to use things, just because they exist.

You're allowed (still, for now), to have things that are enjoyable for free.

Do you realise how insane the world is? We don't have many places where we can just be, for free anymore, but ao3 is. Did you notice we don't have ads in ao3? We don't have pop ups? Where ELSE do we not have that?

Where else can you just go and not have to wait for a commercial to be over or for ads to be on the sidelines?

I don't think the younger people understand, but the whole of internet used to be like this. YouTubers would do Youtube for free, just because. You couldn't monetise your internet presence before.

Ao3 is like a little preserved corner of the internet where the old internet used to be, and it's being attacked by people who do not understand that free things are allowed to exist without judgment.

Please don't ruin this for us.

We want to change the world~~!

Hello all fellow Inuyasha fandoms members!

The mod-team here at FC has been hard at work the last few months developing a new way to send in nominations. We've created a fool-proof (and hopefully easier) way to send in your nominations across all platforms. What does this mean for the upcoming Nomination Period?

No more using the Submission box.

When we formally post our "Get Ready!" message, it will include the links to both the Fanfiction and Fanart nomination forms.

What will the new process look like?

When you first click on either of the nomination links, you'll be shown this page:

If you're here, that means you're at the right spot! At the bottom, there will be an arrow that will allow you to move forward to the next page.

Simply type your preferred screen name (it would help if you tell us what platform you're nominating from, but isn't required), and your preferred email address. The email line will require you to fill out the entire email format. If we are unable to reach you via screenname, we will utilize your email to notify you if there are any problems with your nomination.

After filling this portion out, you will click the forward arrow to be sent to the nomination portion.

Each category will be formatted as above. All you need to do is type in the answer to the blanks. All the blanks will need to be filled out per nomination, however, you don't have to nominate for every category.

Will this process be mobile-friendly?

Yep! One of the great features of this new method is that you can easily nominate from the comfort of your phone. The link will work on your mobile device with the same exact formatting. No more trying to type everything into the submission box. Just fill out the required info!

What if I come up with a new nomination after I've already submitted the form?

No problem at all! The form allows you to submit as many times as you want. Want to send in all 30 Fanfic nominations simultaneously? Have at it! Want to send in one nomination at a time? Go for it! Get distracted and didn't finish filling it out? Your half-finished list will remain there until you submit it.

We hope this process will not only make it effortless for people to nominate in an easy fill-in format, but also allow people outside the tumblr media to nominate works as well.

Please keep in mind, although the mod-team has been tinkering with it utilizing test data, there may be unforeseen issues that arise. We will address them as seamlessly as possible to make your experience more enjoyable.

Summary: When her brother’s name is drawn and his fate is sealed to be the next to die in sadistic Game of Death, Kagome volunteers to take his place and keep him safe. Her partner? A young wolf leader a fractured pack and rough reputation who, as she suspected, is hiding a surprising depth of character.

agome crept through the dark, bow loaded and ready to fly at the first hint of danger, and kept her eyes peeled for the faint flickers of yoki that would signal she’d found her current target.

She wasn’t sure how they did it, but the Capital stifled yoki and reiki in The Arena in an effort to even the playing field between the human and demon Tributes.

However, Kagome quickly discovered that at least some of her reiki awareness had not been lost, and she could detect the faintest wisps of energy from all the other Tributes who possessed reiki and yoki.

They couldn’t use it, but she could senseit, and it had made all the difference to her survival.

Kagome wrung her hands together as she paced in front of the cave. She knew she had nothing to worry about—it's not like this was his first battle—but a storm had raged through the mountains almost an hour after they'd left, completely washing away his scent.

A hand made contact with her shoulder, and she jerked in surprise, her ponytail hitting Ginta in the face. "He'll be fine, sis."

She rubbed the back of her neck. "Am I that obvious?"

Hakkaku grinned as he joined his brother. "Only when you're really worried about someone."

Glancing toward the trees, she shivered as a wayward breeze ruffled the leaves, several falling to the ground. "This one was bad," she hedged.

They crowded around her, offering body heat as a means of comfort. "He'll get mad if he finds out you're doubting his abilities," Ginta said.

"It's not that," she argued. She started wringing her fingers again. "Why wouldn't he let me go with him?"

The two men sighed. "It's a territorial thing, sis," Ginta replied.

Hakkaku nodded. "Yeah, if you'd shown up, even if they had won, the other tribes would've claimed it wasn't his victory. He had to show he was capable of doing it himself."

These are not limited to completed fics, but completed fics may be preferred.

Roulette Fanart Category for Term 2 2025 will be Best Background. This is defined as: A focus on the background, not just the main character(s). This is an appreciation of the work and background that the artist has created.

Roulette Romance Category for Term 2 2025 will be Best Thruple Romance. This will be a category for both Fanart and Fanfiction.

For Fanfiction, it will be defined as: Stories that have developed a believable romance between three Inuyasha characters. "Believable" is subjective, and it is up to those nominating/voting to draw their own line on that quantifier and vote their "Best". This includes canon universe and AU/AR settings.

For Fanart, it will be defined as: Any romantic depiction of three Inuyasha characters.

Remember, all other romantic pairings, besides InuKag & thruples, can be nominated into the Best Romance category. All other pairings will be up for voting again next term. We will continue cycling through desired pairings to give spotlight to as many pairings as possible.
