the possibility of sam running away from his family because he was sexually assaulted either by dean or john (or by both) makes so much more sense when you remember that 1) in the original pilot draft it’s heavily implied that sam is scared of dean, and it’s also very much present in canon (specifically during those moments when dean’s mad at him) and how he’s always so willing to offer himself up for being physically hurt by dean in order to help dean “feel better” 2) sam’s lines “i finally got away from dad” and “the one thing worse than seeing dad once a year was seeing him all year” and the fact that john was canonically shown to be physically violent towards him and most importantly, he canonically stalked sam in stanford (also he quite literally compared sam to mary in his journal. which could mean nothing of course….)
