Okay so, first thing, I can only *assume* that you've never actually met a trans person in real life based on your perception of what being trans is. I've had trans friends and people online explain it to me and it's a lot more than just wearing the 'opposite sex' clothing (since clothing doesn't equal gender). Most trans people have gender dysphoria and have to go through years of therapy, consultations, and waiting lists to even start transitioning. Generally, from what I gather, TERFs want to abolish transitioning entirely, ignoring that transitioning is not a simple or quick process and can decrease suicide risks. I think the issue with a lot of TERFs and transphobes is that many have not actually spoken to regular trans people before or held a conversation where they go in without any biases or preconceived notions and just listened to what they have to say.
I'm not gonna talk too much on that though since I'm not transgender and have not experienced it - just from my research and what trans people I know have told me.
Second, true, homosexuality isn't inherently 'visible', but that doesn't mean it isn't. Yeah, a straight girl can be masculine and a lesbian can be feminine but, quite often, a masculine woman is assumed to be a lesbian.
I am a lesbian. In school, despite not being open or out, I was apparently quite visible since I was a tomboy and lots of people assumed that about me. The girls in the changing rooms complained about me - despite the fact that I didn't even talk to or look at anyone since I was quiet and socially anxious - and I was forced to get changed in the disabled changing room since I "made them uncomfortable" because I looked like a lesbian. I was about 14, so this was around 5 years ago now.
I've experienced the humiliation and shame of being pushed out of a female space because I don't look a certain way and others don't want me there. I can only imagine how it feels for a lot of trans women, especially those who have been on hormones for years and have had surgeries.
And third, yeah male socialisation is a thing and yes trans women can experience that growing up, but that doesn't mean they benefit from the patriarchy necessarily. The patriarchy and society doesn't simply reward people for being born male - although it can help - but rather is based more on the performance of masculinity and staying in line with gender norms. Trans women don't do that, so they're punished under the patriarchy.
At the end of the day, I think we're unlikely to ever see eye to eye. You'll hold your opinions, I'll hold mine. Frankly, this thread is getting too long and I'm tired and don't want to make a habit of back and forth arguing and debating with strangers online.
If TERFs were really feminists, we'd hear a lot more speaking out against the US abortion bans and laws against women, the way women are being treated in Afghanistan, the rise of misogyny on the internet, and the general oppression of women.
But instead, they mostly prefer to bitch about 0.5% of the population, a minority group who I'm convinced barely any of them have even met a member of in real life. I very rarely see any actual TERF advocacy against actual misogyny as I do against trans people.
These "feminists" prefer to punch down than actually advocate for women. These "feminists" are working directly with the far right, who hate women, and are feeding into their rhetorics and stupid culture wars.
These so-called "feminists" are celebrating the oppression of trans people whilst ignoring the fact that the people they're celebrating with also want their rights taken away and want to put women "back in their place" and strip away our reproductive rights.

I also mentioned Hands Across the Aisle, and the WoLF who are a radfem group working with the Heritage Foundation and accepting a grant from the FDA, which you seemed to ignore in my reply. Can you explain why radical feminist TERF groups and individuals are actually directly working with these groups? Like, genuinely.
I'd also like to mention Posie Parker, who is a gender abolitionist I think a lot of TERFs seem to admire (granted I don't know your specific beliefs and won't speculate), who has even stated she's not a feminist and has aligned herself with right wing fascists who attend her rallies.
You say you're reasonable, but a lot of TERF points against 'trans ideology' and trans panic is very similar to old school homophobic rhetoric. Like saying trans people (especially trans women) are predators and want to invade women's spaces is very similar to the whole idea of lesbians praying on women in changing rooms, which most of us in this day and age know is bullshit.

There very much is.
The UK Conservative Party (right wing, not far right, but I'm getting there) have, on more than one occasion used the writings of transphobic radfems to back up their point and have attributed the "pushback against transgender people" to trans exclusionary feminists.
The Woman's Liberation Front (WoLF) have worked with the Heritage Foundation (a right wing anti-lgbt group) and prominent members have attended events. They have also worked with the FPA and groups aligned with the ADF (who they also I think accepted a grant from).
Hands Across the Aisle is a coalition group that connects 'gender critical' radical feminists with anti-LGBTQ and far right groups.
Not to mention that one of the far right's biggest tactics is to weaponise fear against transgender people, especially trans women, and 'transgender ideology', and TERFs directly play into this stupid culture war and allows the far right rhetoric to spread.
Edit: Oh, and the Daily Mail (a right wing hate rag) constantly uses TERFs to push their talking points and push hate against trans people, especially in these past few days.
If TERFs were really feminists, we'd hear a lot more speaking out against the US abortion bans and laws against women, the way women are being treated in Afghanistan, the rise of misogyny on the internet, and the general oppression of women.

Who the fuck is "y'all" 😂😂
Well, if you're speaking about those issues, good. Do that. Keep doing that. That's good. I wish I saw more of that but, unfortunately, a lot of "radical feminists" and the people/groups they support put all their effort into protesting the existence of transgender people (For Women, Sex Matters, Maya Forestater, JK Rowling)
But to put trans people (an incredibly small minority of people in the world) on the same level as these atrocities when most of them are just living their lives and struggling as it is, is absolutely ridiculous, hateful, and mean-spirited.
If TERFs were really feminists, we'd hear a lot more speaking out against the US abortion bans and laws against women, the way women are being treated in Afghanistan, the rise of misogyny on the internet, and the general oppression of women.

Noticing a trend where an (alleged) rapist or sex offender can just run to the states, don a red hat, and call themself a Christian and suddenly, no matter how much evidence there is, they'll have a huge mob backing them and will be absolved of all guilt...

Honestly want to get rid of all social medias (except Tumblr) because I never even post anyway, but I'm so bad at remembering to keep in contact with people and I love seeing pictures of my family and the wee ones and how they're doing.
Instagram is so fucking bullshit. Full of racist arseholes who will outright call people slurs and call for violence and white supremacy and bully literal children and babies based on their skin colour, and that's all fine apparently. But saying "fuck off" to someone who was outright homophobic to you?? BIG NO-NO.
Zuck lets Nazis and violent misogynists run amok on his site, and even comments from creeps on pics or vids of CHILDREN aren't removed or dealt with.
Unfortunately, it's the only way I have contact with certain people otherwise I would have been off it ages ago.
It's always been a bit shit but it's gone right downhill recently.

Nothing but love for my trans siblings <3
In regards of the Trump government scraping all trans inclusion in its queer information portion of its websites I have made this thing. Spread the word. Don't let them pretend we never existed.

P.S: Don't like! Reblog! <3
EDIT: Well this got a lot of attention! I got a few users asking to print or repost my art and I am unimaginably grateful to everyone's interest, especially since it's a really simple drawing I made on a whim haha! Anyone who is looking to print these out to hang or hand out or repost on another platform is free to do so, although I ask you to credit me and let people know it's from my Tumblr profile! If anyone wishes to do anything else with my art or post and wants to clarify what I consent to then they can message me privately and I'll explain! <333 all my love to my queer siblings
EDIT: I made an LGBTQIA+ version with a focus on trans and intersex folks, it's on my pinned if you prefer this version of the acronym.

The worst part about having sensory issues/misophonia is when I randomly get overwhelmed by my own sounds.
Like when I'm eating and suddenly the sound registers and it's all I can hear so I physically cannot continue eating that item. Or when I can hear or feel my own heartbeat and it's too much so I just have to sit and try to ignore it until it dies down.
So. Fucking. Annoying.

Just a reminder that when the right wing go on about freedom of speech, they're talking about their right to spread hate and threaten minorities and women and make us feel unsafe. When they talk about censorship, they mean that they are no longer allowed to say these things without consequences. Their 'freedom of speech' doesn't extend to us. They don't care about censoring us, as long as they get to tell us that we are subhuman or deserve less rights.
Freedom of speech to them means that they get to say abhorrent things about us and we are supposed to sit silently and take it.
