I absolutely love that in fic, outsiders always assume Buck and Eddie are married. Itâs always âhusbandâ and never âboyfriendâ. They are not even wearing rings or doing anything and people assume theyâre married and somehow it makes SENSE for them. Absolutely beautiful to me.
#they say âoh um we're not marriedâ and the outsider says âwow still engaged? how's the wedding planning going?â#911 abc#buddie

he didnt actually finger himself onscreen but narratively the story and themes were telling you that he fingered himself

god. s4 of 911 revealing two secrets being kept from buck, both meant to fuck him up but in opposite ways. the daniel one shedding light on how little he used to be valued, and eddie's will reveal highlighting just how loved he is now. "you think you're indestructible, but you're not" vs. "you act like you're expendable, but you're wrong." One concealing the depth of a lifetime of indifference and the other undying devotion. parallel of all time truly

buck and eddie are talking on the phone while eddie covers someone elseâs shift and buck accidentally says âi love you, byeâ as he hangs up. he spends the entire day at home panicking about the accidental confession and dreading eddieâs gentle rejection. eddie fully assumed the âi love youâ was either accidental or platonic, but it opened up a trapdoor to the emptiness that heâs been ignoring and he realizes over the course of the day that he wants buck to say it romantically. because he loves buck romantically. and theyâre both getting so worked up about this until finally eddie gets home and buck says âeddie iâm so sorry i didnât meanââ and eddie says âwell what if i wanted you to?â and buck says âwhat?â and eddie says âto mean it. i wanted you to mean it.â and buck says âyou think i didnât mean it? of course i meant it. i justâjust didnât mean to say it.â and eddie says âoh,â and kisses him.
#you ever find something in your drafts from weeks ago that ends mid-sentence and youâre like âhm letâs see where heâs going with thisâ#buddie#đż

Maybe I'm just extra cranky because I struggled to get comfortable last night and tossed and turned a lot, but I ran across another 'Not like other fanfic writers' Tumblr disclaimer, and it really irritated me.
Maybe I just have the bad luck to randomly encounter these people in the wild (and to be fair, I donât think there are many of them), but this isn't the first time, and it seems to me there is a weird, niche subset of fic writers who think they're too good to be writing fanfic, so they preface their work with things like, "This isn't just fanfic because I put a lot of time and effort into it" or, "Do you want to read actual book-length writing from someone who actually put in effort" and it chaps my ass.
You are actually not special. I have a copy of a medieval herbarium so I can make passing references to medieval medical procedures in my gay fanfic. That doesn't make me a cut above other fic writers, it makes me a nerd, and nerds writing fanfic are a dime a dozen. A book-length fic? The average novel falls between about 70,000 and 100,000 words. Unless you're in an incredibly tiny, niche fandom, I guarantee there are thousands of fics that fall within that range, and many that even qualify for doorstopper status. You spent years on it? You put in *dramatic gasp* effort??? Welcome to what the majority of fanfic writers are doing!
Spending a lot of time and effort writing fanfic does not actually make you the specialist little snowflake. You are not getting the Pulitzer for fanfic because you put time and effort into writing it. Nobody is going to give you a hand job for checking your spelling. If you think you're too good to be writing fanfic, then go back to your genius manuscript that you can't believe literary agents aren't snapping up and leave us lowly plebeians to it.

eddie insisting their first time should be missionary so he can gaze into buckâs eyes the whole time. buck is so down for this but doesnât realize how intense it is. eddie wonât look away from him for more than a few seconds. he wants to see every minute reaction buck has and commit it to memory. buck turns so pink about it that eddie canât help but press kisses to his birthmark every few moments :)
