Brass nails and why I have them.
Ever since last night I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my brass fingernails. First of all. NO, they are not prosthesis. i have them for a specific reason.
Here’s what they look like:

Tumblr media
HERE’s is the reason:
I bite my nails all the time. constantly, idly, without thinking.
Tumblr media
If you’re like me, and love giving back scratches, then having no nails is a problem:
Tumblr media
Here’s how chose to fix this problem:
Shoot bullet, collect casing.
Tumblr media
cut bullet.
Tumblr media
The bullets have a taper inside. we will want the broader side of the taper to be outward on our nails, and the thinner side against the rear of the nail so there is no jutting up of material when they are glued on. Here’s what that taper looks like, one cylinder is flipped over to show how thick it is at the base:
Tumblr media
clip, bend, and trim into a nail shape:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sand for a fine (BUT NOT CUTTING SHARP) edge on the front and smooth edges.
Tumblr media
Glue with Krazy glue, it’s the best.
Tumblr media
it’ll dry quick. NOW TRY BACK SCRATCHES. LOOK AT THIS DIFFERENCE.
Tumblr media
Amazing. the nails will stay on for about a week at a time before working themselves loose, when that happens just scrape the glue off and reapply.
Unless you happen to have reached into the closet and snagged it on your shelves and broke the nail off on your pinky cuz holy god that hurt. reapply anyways.
Also these work as screwdrivers, knives and various other multi-tools at the tip of your finger, so that’s pretty rad. I don’t know how odd i should feel about having done this, but i must say; it’s handy as hell and really fun to have nails again.
OH, also you can shine them with “brasso” or something but screw that, I’ve tried that and they get mirror bright and really annoyingly shiny. not my thing.

(insert alternating caps) "you're a dictator if you ban someone or block someone because they disagree with queer people existing".
No? That's literally just not letting toxic bullies around me or a group I mod? The mental gymnastics some of y'all do to justify hating a someone just for their existence 🤨🧐
Image ID: a rainbow flag with words in black on it "pride has zero to do with who I sleep with and everything to do with the fact that I survived you, your friends in school, family members, religious dogma taught self hatred and am now tough enough to walk the street in my own skin now."

Hence why I will always wear exactly who I am on my sleeve. People who think like this deserve to be uncomfortable in the same room as me.
Ok different from my usual junk posting but I need to get this off my chest because its really bothering me. Why is there so much biphobia in the LGBTQ community right now? As a bi person its extremely frustrating. Why is my queerness being brought into question because i like men. I slightly believe it does come from the "bi girl who only dates men" stereotype, but at the same time some lesbians will not date another bi woman because they've been with a man before and that makes them "dirty".
On the same topic the transphobia in the LGBTQ community is insane to me. You are apart of the same marginalized group why do you get to pick who deserves support in the community?
Its getting to the point for me as a bi person I dont wanna say im bi because clearly I should be ashamed for even looking at a man. Everything the community stands for is being torn apart by the very people in it. Pride is literally for celebrating the community and all of their accomplishments.
Just because you are also queer does not mean you cant be homophobic because realistically the biphobia in the queer community is homophobia. And just because your queer doesnt mean you cant be transphobic. You dont automatically get a pass as soon as you realize you like to kiss the same sex.

Welcome to my Lair.
I am glad you are here. On this Earth and on this post.
If you've made it here somehow, greetings. My name is N. Oddity, and I am an artist and game developer. I am 21 years old, from a small town, and I am not okay with the things happening around me.
CURRENT PROJECTS I AM WORKING ON:
-setting up my toyhouse
-Releasing the first 5 (or 10) chapters of my and my cousin's first webcomic: My Thoughts are in Fakie
-Writing and developing our game: Dr. Happi's Happy Place.
MEET THE ARTIST:
What to call me: My name, if you must know, is Nick. I suggest you use he/him pronouns for me, but I'll be whatever you want me to be to fit your worldview, if only for a short while.
I like collecting funny looking drinkware from thrift stores, listening to music, drawing, and thinking. I urge you to like that last one too. (to my fellow overthinkers: not you. you've already done more than enough. i urge you to begin doing.)
My goals are to connect with people who share my thoughts and organize. Organization is how we make change happen.
Fear and shame is what drives us apart. Let's all shed this together!
By the way, I am autistic. Change your perception of that a little bit while you're here. If you wish to know more about why I have stated this, ask away! If you think you know better than the people who diagnosed me, send me an ill informed hate dm!
My favorite colors are cerulean blue, magenta, and black (they show up in my art a lot). My favorite band is, as of right now, Bleed.
The spikes on my jacket are not (just) for show. They serve a deeper purpose of self defense against people who have been taught it is okay to grab my shoulders without my permission. Everything I do has a meaning you may not be able to see. The same applies to you whether you like it or not. What are you saying with your words unsaid? Do you like what you're saying? Do something about it!
I leave you with this: Change starts locally. We can do it. You can do it. But not alone. Organize with the people around you today!

Question from the Trevor project survey I just took:
"What can teachers or school administrators do to make you feel supported in school?"
My answer:
To address the root issue pertaining to lgbtq students:
-Use they/them as a default for everyone, and then use gendered pronouns if/when someone asks you to. Not just the students you think look queer. They can tell when you do that, and they feel they are being dehumanized. How will you teach them if their perception of you is that you are dehumanizing?
-Not mention or cast judgment on the appearance of students who appear to be queer or just "different" in general, unless they mention it themselves, in which you should react in an encouraging way. This will be the only encouragement and acceptance some people will ever experience in their lives. Enough said.
Educators current and future: We need to be aware of stuff like this. If you care at all about teaching your students and if you want them to care at all about life itself (learning as well), you should want to do this for them. If you don't actually care, why are you doing this job? Find a different career that makes you happy. Who told you that you had to commit to a life you're unhappy with? Change it!
School administrators: Listen to your teachers. My mom is a teacher. Whether you like it or not, they know the classroom, students, and things that need to happen much better than you do (and are capable of based on your position). Even if you were once a teacher yourself. ESPECIALLY if you were once a teacher yourself. You should know better if that is the case. Speak up when you see things-you-don't-like-but-society-told-you-to-be-okay-with. You have a lot of power in the field of changing lives. Will you wield it?
You should want to do all of this if you care about educating kids. Full stop. By not making an effort to learn and grow, what are you modeling for our kids?
