jake felt like he was on borrowed time. his feet anxiously tapping on the floor as he waits for hani. he knew he should’ve thought about it before agreeing with you. but telling you the truth would have made your relationship back to square one.

“hey hani!” jake waves his hand, flashing her a smile “i got something to do after this so let’s just make it quick” hani could feel the rush in his every move, the way he would check his watch almost every minute that passed by, or how he dragged her before she could even process the name of the place.

this felt more of a tour guide rather than the romantic walk around that she had expected.

“yuna! let. go.” you smack her arm once again “no! i learned in science today that people really need to wash their hands thoroughly!” you click your tongue, groaning as you break free from her grasp “yeah well i don’t think that’s a good excuse to make me stay in the washroom for 30 goddamn minutes! jakes probably waiting for me” you turn around, taking a deep breath as you try to calm yourself down. but the sight in front of you makes your heart drop down to your stomach.

you smile at them, but not the smile that would make his heart melt. if jake were to describe it, it was a smile of a serial killer who’s hinting it’s next victim. jake knew he was done for, and right at that second he knew he wouldn’t see the next day.

jake looks at yuna with furrowed eyebrows, tilting his head as she shrugs her shoulders and mouthed “i tried” and no matter how much anyone denies it, yuna really did try. her pruny hands proving her efforts after dousing her hand with hand wash and water for about 25 minutes trying to distract her best friend.

“yn, i—“ jake takes a step, only for you to take a step back, before he could speak any further, hani cuts him off “so you must be yn! im hani” she walks towards you, lending a hand for you to shake. she was pretty, elegant, and at the very moment you laid your eyes on her, you felt like internally crying. she looked perfect in every way. clothes full of designer brands, the type of girl parents would definitely love. you shake her hand out of politeness, though that was the last thing you wanted to treat the girl who stole the love of your life. “i got some hand sanitizer, dont worry” yuna mumbles, causing you to shove her.

“oh hani! i’ve heard a lot about you” you send a glare at jake, not missing the awkward grin he had on his face as he places his hand on his nape “so have i!” she chuckles

“well i actually had plans with yuna here, so we’ll get going!” yuna looks at you with wide eyes “we do?” these were the moments where you truly despised your best friend. in situations like this, you hoped that your ‘connected minds’ have truly put itself to good use. not when it’s only about deciding which restaurant you wanted to eat at. you elbow her arm, causing her to yelp “ow! yes i remember now” she giggles awkwardly before you dragged her away.

and before jake could even call out to you, you left.

"fuck" Jake muttered, messing up his hair out of frustration "so that’s yn huh?” jake chuckles “in the flesh.” he didn’t know how to explain this whole situation. not aiming to hurt anyones feelings despite already hurting yours.

hani felt awkward, standing there in plain silence. she didn’t know what to do “well i guess the tour is over” jake shrugs his shoulder, walking away with disappointment written in every move he makes “let me walk you hom—“

and just like that, hani grabbed jakes hand and kissed him.

it didn’t take a second for jake to push her off “hani what are you doing?” she starts to breathe heavily, tears starting to settle in “god jake! haven’t you noticed?” jake stood there in silence “i’m in love with you! i’ve been in love with you since we’ve met!” she sobs, while jake could barely process what was happening “and no matter how much i tried to make you forget about yn, she’s still the only one you could ever think of”

“what does she have that i dont?! she’s useless! she’s playing you along just to break your heart and once she’s done her job she’ll throw herself onto the next guy like the whore she is—“ jake furrows his eyebrows, hands balled into a fist

“watch your mouth hani. i hope you know you’ll never come close to her. she’s everything you’re not and better. it’ll always be her. so stop trying to ruin this for me and pick someone who will love you.” she reaches out to hold his hand, only for him to move away “this conversation is done, i’ll call you a cab”

“fuck!” hani sobs, gripping her hair out of frustration as she cries her eyes out.
