I think most transmasc vs transfem discourse ultimately stems from the painfully cisgender/cisfeminist worldview that men and women are opposites. Whatever privileges men experience, women experience the opposite. Whatever violence women experience disproportionately, men perpetrate it. Women are opressed and men oppress. And when we're only talking about cis people, that's pretty accurate.

But it doesn't really work when you map it onto trans people. Because cisnormative society doesn't reward or empower any sort of trans people to oppress anyone. Trans people do not have any sort of gender-based privilege.

Trans men and trans women should not be understood as gender-oppressor and gender-oppressed the same way that cisfeminism views men and women. Doing so is honestly just blatantly ignoring the reality of trans people's lives, and will always just be a form of genderessensislism and/or bioessentialism.

look i’m trying to meaningfully engage with you, and you seem unwilling to even listen to what i have to say. i hope believing people who disagree with you are fascists is helpful to you and makes you happier.

The anti-civ mindset is that of a natural law of fascism. Its a way of saying you wish genocide on people without saying you do. It's not genocide if its mother nature doing it after all, right? It's also weirdly christian (flood theology, etc)

Overall though, it's just fucking pathetic. Anticivs will tell you that they don't want people to die, and that they want to find ways of helping people outside of an industrialized civilization.

It becomes, then, this strange invocation of the stereotype of the noble savage, an implicit denial that agrarian or hunter-gatherer societies can be said to be civilized at all.

The result of all of this is a sort of passive manifest destiny vibe where everyone who is unproductive a civilization-lover can be simply allowed to die with no guilt because well, no one can stop nature. so enriched flour in particular aims to get processed white flour to the same level of nutritional value as whole wheat. the solution is to simply not make and eat white flour at the same scale and to instead grind the whole grain most if not all of the time. that ones kinda trivially easy to solve.

additionally, you reblogged me earlier to ask how i'd propose providing insulin in a postciv context, possibly some other things but that’s all i saw in the notification, and then deleted that post. i'm going to answer the question anyway because it’s the same answer as the hormones that both of us are reliant on.

quite simply, we maintain that infrastructure. we keep the supply lines running that ensure the factories have what they need to make insulin, or hormones, or whatever other essential medication is being made. the workers have control of that factory, and we distribute based on need. maybe some folks start up smaller operations to produce basic medication like aspirin from raw materials, but with the big important stuff like antibiotics and insulin and adrenalin and such, we already have the infrastructure for mass production and that’s the kind of thing we actually *should* be producing at scale.

what i think you fundamentally misunderstand is that postciv in particular isn't about burning it all to the ground and starting from scratch, it's about using the good bits of civilization and getting rid of the rest. all the issues you’ve pointed out are easily answered by ‘well we keep that around. it’s something good civilization has been facilitating”. you can ask any anarchist or communist the same questions about how they’d do X or Y under their system and their answer will be pretty close to “well we keep that around. it’s something good capitalism has been facilitating”. same here just with civilization as a whole.
