Princession Orchestra really blessed us with some of the coolest villains a magical girl series has had.

They’re cat boys. They have a punk aesthetic. They’re a rock band. They’re silly with each other. They all have unique interactions with the hero’s. They’re a genuinely threatening presence. They raise interesting questions about the world of the series. They’re philosophical and and make the girls question themselves.

Genuinly every second they’re on screen is so much fun. Having good villains is important and it makes the main characters shine even brighter.

So I wanna talk about this scene because every time I think about it it’s even more fucked up and evil.

Like on a basic level two people who tried to kill you like a week ago showing up to upstage you at your school talent show then fucking off immediately is fucked up.

But then the song they sing, Orbital Beat, is a Zwei Wing song. This is clearly meant as a taunt at Tsubasa.

It didn’t really hit me until I listened to the season one soundtrack that Obital Beat is a love song Tsubasa and Kanade sang for each other. So they’re singing her dead girlfriend’s song! Rude!

But this is where it gets truly evil. This is what I only just noticed on my third rewatch of episode one.

Orbital Beat is the song that got interrupted when the Noise attacked.

This was the last song Tsubasa and Kanade sang together and that they never got to finish!!!

Like come on!

Evil! This is genuinely one of the most fucked up things anyone does in this show and that’s a high bar.

There is truly no limit to this sword’s suffering.

Plus they overshadowed Chris’ big moment, like come one.

Okay just gonna get this one out of my system; People saying that the Ibis boss in AC6 is based on qubeley from uc gundam? Wrong. It is almost painfully blatantly based on this;

This is the RMSN-008 Bertigo, from the criminally, murderously overlooked and underrated actually one of the best shows in the franchise Gundam X.
