narcissa black malfoy is a harry potter canon character. she was born with a silver spoon and a blade between her teeth, the last daughter of a bloodline in decline. cygnus and druella black named her after the narcissus flower – pale, curling, pretty petals around an obedient head. she was pureblood, she was a slytherin, she was an early supporter of the death eaters, the doting mother of draco malfoy, and the loving wife of wealthy aristocrat lucius malfoy. this blog is an attempt to chronicle her true story, without adornment, without apology – welcome.

portrayal / ⟩ my portrayal of narcissa malfoy is primarily based on the seven books of harry potter, but i always draw influences from helen mccrory's portrayal in the films, along with some of my personal headcanons and writings. my narcissa uses the late helen mccrory as a faceclaim, but i am open to going faceclaim-less if this bothers you. my portrayal places a focus on narcissa's early prejudices and subsequent maternal devotion, but my timeline is pretty flexible to accommodate my roleplay partners. while i have no problems changing plot points to suit roleplay needs, i will not alter narcissa's core personality. her cold and often prejudiced nature is central to my portrayal, and she will never act in a way i find out of character. characterisation is non-negotiable. that said, i understand that her demeanour isn't always easy to engage with. if you're interested in exploring softer dynamics, i have alternative aus – such as a squib-raised narcissa without purist ideals – that may suit better. just ask!

writing / ⟩ currently i am in academia and have a very sporadic schedule. i deal with stress, anxiety and a terrible social battery. all of that is my responsibility, i’m just putting this out here because i want to be as responsible and careful as possible while i re-navigate the realm of tumblr rping. if i haven't replied to you in a while, please please please don't take it as a fault on your part!!

shipping / ⟩ usually, my muses are multi-ship and their shipping status remains open. with that being said, romantic shipping is not a high priority for me and something i don’t feel comfortable getting into with just about anybody. also, my narcissa is devoted to lucius in all of her standard verses. while nobleflower is a popular pairing, it's not one i write ( except in her squib au, where her circumstances and values are different ). in general, i will likely decline ships that don't align with her worldview – such as pairings with muggleborns, blood-traitors, or gryffindors – unless we collaborate on a plot that makes strong logistical and emotional sense. i also am no longer looking for lucius roleplayers as i have already established an exclusive connection. finally, i do not write smut ever, unless we are very close and i give you direct, explicit consent.
