It's funny how things change as you grow older & become more mature. As a child/teen, I always used to say that I wanted to only marry a doctor so that I could always get what I wanted, which essentially means material things. As I grew up, I realized material things does not ensure happiness. Sure, buying things brings joy for the moment, but that joy doesn't carry over for months &/or years. Material things do not make those long lasting memories that I crave. Prior to meeting Ammar, my requirements were simple- I wanted a guy that had deen, education, & was Palestinian. When I met Ammar, I paid attention to the way he treated the people around him, more specifically his family & strangers. It speaks a lot about the person's character when he treats his mom like a queen & tries to help people even if he is not close with them. His soul was gentle & kind; that's all I ever wanted in a man. When it comes to your significant other, think of it in terms of your children; would you be 100% content with your kids if they came out exactly like him/her? My answer is yes, alhamdulilah. So, how did we meet? Well, Ammar emailed my mom (I still have the email lol) the beginning of May 2016 after seeing a picture of me through mutual friends. We talked for 1 week & then we prayed istikhara (clearly we weren't playing games 🤣🙈). He came to my parents after 3 weeks. We did our tulba in September, katib iktab in March, & will have our wedding/reception in August 2017, InshaAllah. Did I ever think I would marry someone the traditional way? No. I always said I wanted to talk to the person I would marry for a year & be engaged for 2 years. Remember, Allah knows best. People frown upon the traditional/halal way of marriage, & I used to not understand how people could just do it that way, until it happened to me. It's true that when you know, you just know. Marry someone who is caring, gentle, & has a heart full of gold. Marry your best friend. Most importantly, leave it in the hands of Allah. He is the best of planners. We can say what we want & when it would be ideal, but he knows best & it will always be better than we imagined. Ammar, we really should iron your shirts 🙈

I am in love with these @makeupforeverofficial @makeupforeverus Aqua XL Color Paints. I actually bought three of them at IMATS NY & I have been using them as eyeshadows & eye bases, since they can be used as both. For my hooded lovelies, these don't crease at all once they dry, but because I'm always paranoid, I set it with an eyeshadow or powder of my choice. It says these can also be used as eyeliner, which I definitely am going to try! These retail for $25 each & come in three different finishes- iridescent, lustrous, & matte.
