Submission Guidelines

I have added these guidelines to the rules page, however I will post them here in case anyone forgets to read da rulez:

We accept shoutout submissions and if you’d like to submit your OC for feedback, you can do that too!

Obviously this is a positive blog! So, when you’re sending in a shoutout please avoid phrases like: 

"This OC is the only awesome OC out there.” 

It’s great that you really like interacting with someone, however, phrases like that are kinda negative when you’re saying that they are the only one awesome character out there. 

Shoutout submissions will be posted anonymously unless you specifically ask for your name/URL to be signed to it.

Please keep the language as clean as possible. If there’s a curse word within someone’s URL obviously there’s no way around it, but please don’t be a potty mouth. 

I have made a template for shoutout submissions which looks like this:

Obviously it's much bigger in actuality I just shrunk it so it doesn't take up half the page. Anyway if you want your own image please feel free to make your own submission as fancy as you like. The art used in my template belongs to:

For submitting an OC, please remember any constructive criticism is strictly how we think you can improve your character. We will do our best to gather as much research as we can. Do not take any constructive criticism as hate, that's not what we do here. Obviously sometimes you may disagree with the feedback we give you and that's okay. In my case I can be a bit blunt, but do not assume that means that I'm bashing or hating on your character. I'm not. Please don't accuse us of hate or send us hate because of any differences of opinion.

Hey guys~ Dany here. 

Making an OC can be a little difficult (actually it can be very difficult) so I'm gonna use my first Naruto OC to provide an example of some of the things you might want to steer clear of and in some cases not do at all when you're making your own character. 

To start off with her appearance I don't think I did that bad. She's got the headband, the mesh armour and her hair is out of her face and in a braid so an enemy can't grab at it. I didn't really go into too much detail with her clothing which I could have done more of but I got some concept of ninja apparel in there. 

Name: Nakato (N'kata) Chiyha

Okay so having a good name is actually really important, now when I made this OC I for whatever reason failed to realize I could just google Japanese names so I just made something off the top of my head and honestly hers and her mother's names don't even sound like something from Naruto. It wasn't until later that I decided to call her Nakato (which I honestly ripped off from Nagato and made a 'female' version of his name.) 

Age: 16

Abilities: Controls sand, summons snakes,

Again I literally ripped these abilities off from canon characters. N'kata could make a sand shield just like Gaara, except it wasn't on instinct like how Gaara's was. She could also summon snakes which was something she got from Orochimaru when he gave her a summoning tattoo on her arm (like his and Sasuke's). Obviously don't be like me and practically plagiarize canon characters that will make your OC over powered and a Mary-Sue. If your character is a ninja or has the ability to use jutsu just be sure to do some research so they're not too similar to another character. 

Kekkei Genkai: Glass release

N'kata's kekkei genkai was basically a mix of earth and fire to make glass. Now I'm gonna give myself a tad of credit for this because glass is made of sand under extreme heat, using those two elements together to make glass can actually makes sense. This would have been okay if I didn't make her so over powered. There's nothing wrong with giving your OC a kekkei genkai or putting them in a powerful clan just don't make them so powerful that they could kill Madara with a single punch or something. Now let me explain how powerful I made N'kata: she kicked Shukaku's ass.Yeah, my 16-year-old genin character was so powerful that she beat up a freaking tailed beast. Obviously if you want to make your OC more powerful than a tailed beast then that's your choice, but I would highly recommend against it. I don't even think it's possible, unless you're a Kage or an Akatsuki to defeat a tailed beast.

Family: Jahna Chiyha (Mother)

Remember what I said about names? Yeah...you really wanna google actual Japanese names...

Orochimaru (Father)

I'm not gonna say don't make your OC the child of a canon or two canon characters. I will say that if you decide to do this, PROCEED WITH CAUTION. Especially when it comes to Orochimaru!!   I personally don't know what I was thinking when I decided to pull this. As cool as it would be to have your OC the child of a legendary Sannin who went bad, I'm just gonna say I personally discourage it. Speaking from experience, it's difficult to make a 'child of Orochimaru' OC that's actually a really good one. I learned the hard way.

Affiliation: Sunagakure, Konohagakure, Team 7, Akatsuki

She was born in Suna was raised there until she was 6 before her and her mother moved to Konoha. She became a part of Team 7 and later defected. (There's obviously a much larger story behind this but I'm too embarrassed to actually explain the whole thing.)

THE MAJOR WRONGDOING:

I made my character a member of Team 7 using the old, there was one too many students and she ended up a fourth wheel. I'm pretty sure this has become a basic OC rule to not make them a fourth student of Team 7. It's not creative and while I'd hate to tell anyone what to do with their character, I am gonna say this: Don't make your character a member of Team 7. Team 7 consists of: Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Sai and Yamato. That is it!  Do not  make your OC a part of Team 7! Avoid it like it was the plague!!!

Regarding the Akatsuki: There are lots of OCs that are affiliated with the Akatsuki, but just keep in mind that if your character falls in that category, they likely aren't going to be seen as important members of the group. There are only 10 members of the Akatsuki no more no less (well less as they all die out but you know what I mean.) Having a character within the organization isn't a bad thing at all, in the case of my character, she was one of Sasori's agents. She didn't get a cloak or a ring and she only met Deidara and Itachi (which I never should have incorporated honestly.) Some Akatsuki members never even met in canon, so having yours know all of them without prior interaction of RP partners isn't completely logical but as far as I know it's not all that frowned upon if they do. Again this is just something to keep in mind.**

So yeah, that's the first OC I made, and I'm still ridiculously embarrassed that I made her. I hope you've found this helpful and maybe a bit amusing.
