I’m just going to steam roll through this. I usually only post work done by the Nationless Crew, but that doesn’t make sense. CapCity is brimming with special talent, undiscovered treasures and hidden lessons the world is awaiting.  In the tradition of overlooking our great artists, Shariq Devonte is, in my opinion, the MOST underrated in the city. Previously SD the Scholar, hailing from the Russel Projects, Shariq consistently sets himself apart by producing bangerz with Consideration. Hitz with Productive Precision. He is a king in his ambivalence of the black experience in Canada. The Goons and HoodScholarz alike can’t deny the energy, power and sincerity of his music. After I listen to Shariq’s music, i feel a sense of urgency without the panic. A sense that we are going to be alright, but we have a serious task ahead. His music is uncompromising.  Stolen from Africa features some incredible production, world class features, including Sizzla Kalonji! Do yourself a favor and cop this classic on Soundcloud, Itunes, Spotify or hit Shariq up himself and get to know a true leader in our community.
