6" Atacama Humanoid Skeleton
I celebrated Atlas Obscura Day with a tour at Mysterion's Museum of Oddities in Toronto. He has an incredible collection. An Atacama skeleton is a recent addition to his collection.
Apparently, this is one of only three Atacama Skeletons known in the world. There is a lot of controversy over the origins of another Atacama found in 2003. Some scientists have given rational explanations. Some people have claimed extraterrestrial origins, possibly "Zeta Reticulans." Some have dismissed them as hoaxes similar to the Fiji mermaid, the German Wolpertinger, furry trouts, etc. Robert Ripley, however, said the one he found was the subject of a full-body reduction by Jivaro natives, the creators of the world-famous, and very real, shrunken heads.
Some articles explaining the different theories of the 2nd Atacama skeleton found in 2003:
