Over the years I have put a lot of my focus into one of my greatest passions - writing. I have written everything from poems to short stories to novels to scripts and after two years of putting some of my most cherished works together I can finally say I have reached my goal of publishing my first book.

This is purely dedicated to my daughter (as it states in the title) but it is not necessarily words of wisdom. It is words of pain and experience, of times where the world becomes almost too unfamiliar. I have pulled myself out of many ruts only to find myself in another, but through my stubbornness and hard work I have found myself in a place where I can finally be happy, thus leading to this release and, in another sense, the release of my past self.

This writing is from a time before the good. This writing is from a place I have known all too well. And I can only hope that if my daughter finds herself here one day, she will have an answer to all her problems because no doubt, there will be obstacles in her life and she will feel pain.

This is also for the women who find themselves abandoned - by love, by happiness, by a world they thought they knew, by fathers or mothers…women who have faced adversity, faced challenges in their lives, women who come together from experience and are still struggling to balance the meaning of womanhood.

I will always write for you, first and foremost. Because we are the cultivators of life, we are the strength and foundation. We thrive when the world forbids us from it.

So thank you to all of my strong, beautiful women who I am so lucky to call my friends, mothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, grandmothers, mentors, and so on. Thank you for being my inspiration.
