Absolute love

I love Gale very much - I think it shows if you look at the history of my art in general. But I wanted to capture something deeper and much more painful in the subject of love. Abuse, addiction, possessiveness, violence - it's so strange that all these terrible things can belong to such a pure feeling as love.

These are lines from the song of the Russian group "Lumen" which inspired me to make this delicate drawing. I find this phrase extremely powerful, and love can be shown in completely different ways. I think what our love for Gale shows is that we love him not because he is a great wizard and wunderkind, but because he is sincere. We love him because he is not callous. We love him for who he really is, not for how much power he has.
