He rubs his chin before waving his hand, “Unlike Wizards like Sypha who learned to manipulate the strings of magic around her, I would need other physical properties so that that soul has something to latch itself on to. Suppose its similar in comparison to enchanting objects if I were to bare bones it.”

She touches the bars of the cell. There’s magic in here - there’s magic all over this place, but there’s specifically some strong magic in the area of the man’s cell. She doesn’t think it’s the cell itself, though. Within? Is it the man, or something else? 

“Is there something magic keeping you here, or are you the magic I’m feeling? I think the bars are mundane - I can freeze them, try to degrade them so we can bend or break them. Oh! Or the lock- I can put water in the lock mechanism and then freeze the ice and break it from the inside!” 

He stares at her in disbelief. In actuality, staying in a frigid castle controlled by frigid bitches was the absolute worse fucking option. And going with a woman who claims to literally freeze the bars to his cell and break him out seems as frigid as it gets. Involuntarily, he shivers.

“...Hector. What are you even doing here? Where are the guards?”

"Well forge masters aren't really created in the first place. At least not powerful ones like me and Isaac. It takes a careful balance that seemingly only humans understand to wield it and comprehend it." Hector sighed in thought, trying to recall all the studying he's endured. "I watched a bird fall from a tree as a child. I wanted nothing more than to see it fly again. So i willed it to. That was my first forge."

He stops and thinks for a long moment. An actual answer comes to mind.

“Do you remember how I described summoning celestials in the first place or how I was able to forge with Abel’s soul? I had to ask. With fiends, I just took and over powered them. I think its just the different approach to summoning what you want. Or something like that. Maybe celestials, fey, and fiends just like the smell of a devil forge master.”

“But you don’t know where that power comes from?”

It was such a strange power–to mold the shapes of devils and monsters, to take their souls and give them form. Even stranger was how rare it was–and how someone would come-across that power in the first place.

“How did you find out about it?”

“Not from here, that’s for sure.”

He snorts at the question, giving the Belmont a quizzical look. He’s thought about it on more than one occasion, even had looked into it as much as he could while he had the chance. The answer was pretty vague and nonspecific, he remembers.

“…I don’t know? It’s… not Celestial by a long shot. Could be from the demon and devil activities my family might’ve dabbled in. Why so interested?”

I have only seen up to episode 5 and will probably finish up tonight if I’m not too sleepy. But I just gotta say right now, I love Hector and the way Lenore applies his clown make-up and picks out his clown shoes.
