Here’s a throwback to when I was a crooked-toothed little girl. I probably just ate an Ellio’s pizza before this picture was taken, & I remember wanting to be just like my cool big brother who’s holding our cherubic nephew. I could romanticize my youth & say those were “simpler times.” But they weren’t. They were messy, traumatic, and complicated. I desperately miss reading in cafés, so I am bringing the café experience to my kitchen today with Alisson Wood’s memoir Being Lolita. This book is such an important read.
