true to their word, yunjin and sunoo greeted xia as she opened her door.

“i’m actually so nervous that i’m gonna embarrass myself and end up looking stupid.” the tutor of the day exhaled, locking the door and checking the time once more.

yunjin gave the girl a reassuring smile, grabbing her shoulder, “girl you’ll be okay, it genuinely is not that bad and taesan isn’t dumb.”

“well he’s clearly dumb enough to need a tutor.”

“sunoo!”

“what! it’s true..”

xia smiled softly before speeding up her pace, “well let’s hurry it up, i do not want to be late to my first ever tutor session. wait do you think he’d want boba?”

“holy fuck im gonna be late!”

sunoo burst into a fit of laughter as yunjin looked at the girl empatheticly.

“well you better get to it!”

“oh shut it sunoo!”

xia collected all her belongings and raced to the library, clutching the boba that she bought for him carefully.

taesan sat at the table closest to the window and farthest from the door. he had already began working on his most recently assigned project.

he looked up when he heard someone pull out the chair in front of him, meeting the gaze of a girl, who looked incredibly apologetic if he might add.

“i’m so so sorry! i went to get boba with my friends and completely loss track of time!”

the boy lightly smiled at her before deciding to poke fun at her, “you’re good, as long as you brought me some.”

xia giggled and taesan swore he felt his heart warm. “well looks like i’m two steps ahead of you.” she placed the taro milk tea in front of him, “so, should we get started?”

the boy next to him looked at the taller boy through his peripheral vision, having an idea of what’s on taesan’s mind, “you good?”

chapter 01 — hybe vs yg (0.2k words)

the gym was filled with chaos—the visiting side feeling dejected and tense while home was filled with excitement and cheers.

it was the very first boy’s volleyball game of the season, the opponent being yg high. hybe was currently leading 2-0, this set determining if the game continues.

up by 6 points, riwoo served the ball, lightly grazing the net. the libero on the opposing side barely received it, flying towards the right side. their setter quickly ran after the ball, bump setting it to the right side hitter.

the spike came in contact with taesan’s and niki’s block before spiraling back down onto yg’s side. their libero swiftly received the ball and the setter sent the ball towards their outside.

the outside successfully spiked the ball over the net but failed to score with sunghoon receiving the ball. instantaneously, jungwon set the ball towards taesan.

the bleachers erupted in cheers as taesan’s spike slammed onto the floor, allowing hybe to have set point. niki, who was right next to taesan, excitedly nudged taesan, congratulating him on his spike.

riwoo retrieved the ball and went up to serve once more, sending the ball over the net. yg’s libero once again received the ball, perfectly passing it towards the setter.

the ball was set to the middle, niki too slow to block but riwoo promptly received the ball. jungwon set the ball to jaehyun, it quickly coming in contact with jaehyun’s hand.

the buzzer went off as hybe’s volleyball team huddled around jaehyun and cheered, establishing the first win of the season.

“aye! korean barbecue on jaehyun hyung!”
