Design notes: I was hesitant to post this version of Tormund's design, because even though it tends to be his more iconic armor, there are not many reference images of it to draw from. The main two I looked at were the TCG card art, and the model from The Darkest Faerie video game. Due to the shading in the TCG art and the limited resolution of the model, I had to do a lot more guess work for this reference than the other Tormund references (especially with the colors and around the leg armor). Which means I was more likely to get stuff wrong.

Design notes: - - Nyx's small ears tend to curl outward sligtly. - Her hair style appears to be an undercut that has grown out a bit. - Her antennae-ears seem to be a bit shorter than other aisha's antennae-ears. - Her hair color was sampled from the back of her hair in her base standing image. This in one of the few places where there did not seem to be an active gradient.

Design notes: - At first it looks like Ozzy has two collars around his neck, but if you look closely, it is actually his Yurble mane tucked into his collar. - Ozzy is pretty short, and has been shown to be shorter than his sister, Nyx.

Design notes: - Jerdana's eyes open in the cut-scenes of the Neopets: The Darkest Faerie video game, however it is unclear what color they are. They seem to be the same or a similar color as the insides of her ears/eye circles (hex code "6688ee" in this reference sheet) but leaning slightly more towards green than purple.

Design notes: - Jeran's fur colors changed slightly at some point in way that made the colors softer. This ref uses the softer colors. - In a lot of Jeran's more iconic art, he has distinct hair tufts. This ref opts to include those, as it helps him stand out as his own character. - Jeran seems to be drawn slightly taller than an average lupe character. Especially notable in this image with him next to Tormund and Tomos.

Here is a collection of reference images drawn up after combing through pages and pages of official neopets art for various characters. I've tried to gather as much information as possible, but there is always a chance I missed something.

Anthro Neopets Reference Sketch Bases

A big little project brought on by a very sudden Neopets kick! I wanted to make front and side sketch references for how neopets are (usually) drawn anthropomorphized in Neopet's canon. I tried to stick as close as I could to the official Neopets style, save some creative interpretation here and there due to a lack of available information. (Two words: Hoof Hands)

I hope this might be helpful to artists who want to do their own Neopets projects and pieces!

Feel free to use these for: - General art reference - Editing and drawing over the sketch base to make your own character references for both official and original neopets character designs. (You may edit the original as much as needed! These are meant to be base sketches after all!) - Making 3D Models.

Credit for using the sketch base in your project or piece is appreciated but not required.

That said, I ask that you do not use these sketch bases for selling prints, making NFTs, AI training, or for reselling the image files please.
